Chapter 2 Airport Fan Gift

After that barbecue I lay in bed contentedly. The next day I took a flight back.

When I landed I used the VIP channel. But some celebrity must have landed at the same time because fans had been waiting there since early morning.

The crowd was packed. I pushed my suitcase forward with difficulty. Suddenly a fan stuffed something into my arms—a fan.

I looked down. It was Ji Mingxu's.

Ji Mingxu was a top star in the past two years, the one fans called "bullying others with his face."

He was a proper actor who debuted at eighteen playing a male Nth lead in some drama. That supporting role brought him into everyone's view.

His career had been smooth sailing ever since, destined for huge success.

The shouts from the crowd finally became clear.

"Ji Mingxu, Mom loves you!"

"Husband, I love you!"

"..."

I rolled my eyes at the fan.

But I didn't throw it away.

It took forever to reach my two-hundred-plus-square-meter apartment. I collapsed on the sofa. My phone suddenly rang.

I answered without looking. "Hello?"

"Jiang Dai, I just saw someone at the airport in a pink oversized cat-head T-shirt holding my fan to pick me up," came that annoying voice. "Did I go blind or did you secretly become my fan and are too embarrassed to tell me?"

Although I knew he couldn't see, I still rolled my eyes again.

"Ji Mingxu, it's bad enough we landed around the same time. Now I have to hear this disgusting stuff. Are you trying to make my life too comfortable?"

The other side exploded. "What do you mean? You're disgusted by me?"

Ji Mingxu was my mom's best friend's son. As a kid he was an annoying little fatty. Somehow he grew taller and more handsome, more ridiculously so than if he had gotten plastic surgery.

I added slowly, "So what? If you piss me off I'll expose every black history from your twenty-six years online right now and show you what your biggest anti-fan can do."

"..."

After a moment he changed the subject. "I got invited to a variety show. It requires bringing a close friend or family. Want to come?"

"Variety show?" I paused. "Can't you ask seniors or juniors from your company? No way, after all these years of grinding you really have zero friends?"

Ji Mingxu was probably hurt. He stayed silent for a few seconds then snapped, "Come if you want!"

I didn't take it seriously. A few days later my agent looked at me with a complicated expression.

"Jiang Dai, how did Hello, The Present send you an invitation?"

"Huh?"

My agent continued in disbelief. "Who did you network with? Did you finally decide to work hard?"
