Chapter 19 Villa of Regrets

Xie Yi Heng didn't answer me.

And just as he said.

Half a month had passed.

No one found this place.

He didn't even disguise himself when going out for supplies.

The doubts in my heart grew heavier.

With the current surveillance systems, it was impossible not to find any clues after so many days.

Unless some force beyond this world interfered.

Had the System appeared again?

Xie Yi Heng seemed like a patient who regained hope, returning to his usual cheerfulness.

Every day, he pushed me in a wheelchair around this villa.

"This area is the reading corner I designed for you. You can rest on the rocking chair when tired."

"This is the entertainment area. We can play chess here in our free time."

"This is the open kitchen. You always said the old one was too small for two people; now it won't be."

...

He enthusiastically pushed me to the back garden.

Various kinds of flowers were planted here.

Xie Yi Heng's voice carried a smile.

"Wen Yu, every morning you can pick the freshest flowers yourself. Do you like it?"

I was stunned for a moment, understanding his intention.

Xie Yi Heng was making up for things.

This was the wedding home he redesigned for me.

I only felt it was absurd.

"Don't you think it's too late?"

Xie Yi Heng paused.

"It's not late. We still have a lot of time."

I looked at him calmly.

"I don't love you. No matter what you do, I won't like it."

"Even if you trap me forever, you'll only get a corpse in the end."

As soon as the words fell, a warm tear dropped on the back of my hand.

Xie Yi Heng cried.

His eyes reflected my increasingly frail figure.

The composed mask shattered, revealing immense panic and confusion.

"Then what should I do?"

"How can I regain your love?"

I lowered my eyes. "Let go. We're just passersby in each other's lives. It's not worth such a great cost from you."

Xie Yi Heng shook his head firmly.

"I've experienced the cost of letting go once."

"Wen Yu, to me, you're my oxygen. I took it for granted then, only realizing after losing you. I can't live without you."

The churning complex emotions were finally replaced by resolve.

He raised his hand to wipe the tears from his eyes.

"I won't make the same mistake again."
