Chapter Twenty-Three

Tommy

The girl I love spent the night in my apartment.

Just not in my bed.

Fury isn’t a strong enough word for what pulsed through me last night.

The sun is shining today as I travel up the river, back towards my place.

Even though I’m in the city centre, there are beautiful routes to run around and get lost in.

It’s peaceful out here at this time on a Sunday morning, hardly anyone is around, like the world is still sleeping.

Only the odd fisher man with their rods cast out, after spending the night in their bivy’s.

Fishing was our family activity that we would do together, packing up and getting away for the weekend to different spots around the UK.

Whenever it got too much for Maya at home, I would do the same with her.

I’d pretend it was what I had planned to do anyway and ask if she wanted to come along, she always did.

Leaning back on our fold up chairs, we watch the river flow by. I don’t usually take my eye off my float, as when that goes under water, I know I’ve got a bite and need to strike but I can’t help but take sneaky glances at Maya.

She looks so relaxed here, just me and her in our meadow. The sounds of the river, the leaves on the trees rustling and the odd animal letting us know they’re around is all that we can hear. The sun peeks through the canopy of trees making her hair look golden, like the angel she is.

“I love it here,” She says, still lost in thought as she takes it all in. “Thank you for bringing me today, I’m sorry to barge in on your fishing day,” She looks at me with a cute smile on her face, a lot more relaxed than she was earlier.

“Don’t be daft, I like you coming with me.

It would be boring without you to keep me company.

How else would I take all my embarrassing pictures holding the fish without you?

” I wink, knowing how much my poses make her laugh.

I do the worst ones on purpose just to see her reaction, it works every time.

“I just don’t get it. All boys seem to do is the same constipated face when they hold them like a trophy. If you don’t want to touch the bloody thing, just take a picture of it in the net,” She scrunches up her nose in the adorable way that she does.

I’m that busy staring at her, I don’t realise I’ve got a bite until she screams with excitement.

“Tommy! Your floaty thingy has gone under the water!”

I jump up, grabbing my rod and striking with all my strength.

Shit, this is a big bastard.

After a few minutes of fighting, I manage to reel it in and unhook it. Maya is crouched down next to me, using the tip of her pointer finger to stroke the fish’s scales. A look of awe on her face.

“This one is pretty. Can I do one of your poo face poses with it?” She asks, not taking her eyes of this fish.

“Of course you can,” I say with a chuckle. “This one is a grayling, you can tell by its large fin on top.”

I help her pick it up, and she gets herself ready into position. Squatting down, leaning on one knee and trying hard to do the moody face most anglers do but when I take the picture, she’s mid laugh. Looking more beautiful than ever.

This is one of the many reasons I love her.

By the time I make it back to the apartment, everyone is awake and lounging in the living room. All of them looking like they’re ready to do the walk of shame in last nights clothes.

“I brought the goods,” I say, as I walk over to the table and putting the tray of coffees down from the café downstairs.

I don’t think I have ever seen the girls move as fast, rushing over to pick up their drinks, these girls are feral.

“Oh my god, I think I love you,” Maya ends it with the sexiest moan I’ve heard in a long time, sending blood rushing to my dick and my heart to my throat.

I rush out of the room, trying to hide the tent in my shorts as I tell them I’m heading for a shower. I feel like a fucking teenager, unable to control myself around the girl I have a crush on.

Locking the door to my bedroom, I strip off my sweaty gym gear and make my way to the en-suite. Turning the shower on, I step in before it has chance to heat up, hoping the icy blast of water will shock some of this pent-up emotion out of me.

Stress, anger, sexual tension.

My dick is still hard as a rock. Lathering up the shower gel in my hands, I give it one light stroke.

Electricity shoots up my shaft. Fuck, that feels good, bracing myself with one hand planted on the shower wall, the water cascading over my lowered head, I keep going.

My fist squeezing the end before pulling back, over and over again.

I imagine the way Maya’s curves felt in my arms last night, the shape of her arse under my palms. How much I wanted to yank her to me, but knowing I couldn’t just yet. The thought of her here, in my apartment, and what I would have done to her if only she had slept in my bed.

My movements become quicker, more frenzied.

Fuck.

The orgasm comes on me quicker than it ever has before. With laboured breathes, my eyes close as I growl with my release. Slowing my movements, I watch as my cum drips down the wall of the shower, all whilst thinking of my girl.

“I really need to go home. I want to have a shower, get in some fresh pyjamas and sleep in my own bed,” Maya groans. Talking to Fallon, Blair and Gracie.

“We can head off now if you want? The police would have called by now if there were any issues. We will need to stop by mine for more supplies, I’m running low on outfit choices,” Fallon responds.

“Don’t get me wrong, I’m so grateful for you all staying with me. But I really need my own space soon,” Maya replies, her eyes cast down. She sounds so defeated right now, her voice low.

“I know babes, but we can’t leave you on your own yet. I’ll sleep on the couch to give you more space?”

“No, I wouldn’t do that to you. It’s just hard not having a minute to myself, you know? I just wish I could live my life like a normal person. I sound so pathetic.”

Deciding now is the right time to interrupt, I drop down next to Maya.

“You don’t sound pathetic at all. I’ve lived with Fallon for most of my life, it’s dreadful,” I say teasingly.

“Hey, don’t be mean. I’m a bloody delight to live with.”

“You’re as delightful as tooth ache,” I grimace mockingly, sending a cheeky wink towards Maya.

“Oh piss off, Tommy,” Fallon crosses her arm and huffs at me. “You were never sunshine and rainbows either on the odd time you would grace us with your presence.”

If only she knew that all those times I wasn’t at home when she was, I was with Maya.

“Right, I can’t stand the sight of myself any longer. Let’s get out of here,” Blair says, finally hitting her quota for the day.

“You’re all still staying with Maya, aren’t you?” I ask. The thought of her leaving makes me feel uneasy. I can’t exactly up the security any more than I already have. There will be a team heading to her place to survey the area before she gets there and will stay until she’s safe.

But still, I’d much rather her be here with me, so that I can visually see that she’s safe and not just hear it from the teams updates.

“Yep, were like glue to you aren’t we Maymay,” Gracie says.

“You sure are,” She replies sarcastically. The look of defeat taking over her features.

Maya has never liked being alone, but she’s always loved her own mental space.

I know what these girls are like. As thoughtful as they might feel they’re being by staying with her, they won’t allow the girl to have a moments peace.

I would give anything for her to just stay here with me.

I wonder if she would. If it would be the better option for her to get some peace, but also for me to feel better knowing she’s right where I can see her.

“Maya, you can always stay here. If you want to escape the craziness for a while,” I say in a low voice whilst the girls are chatting and getting their things together to leave. Even before we finally admitted our feelings, her staying with me would be second nature to us.

She studies me, her eyes bouncing between mine as she takes in my words.

“I might take you up on that,” She finally says.

“The offer is always there, you just let me know. Okay?”

Please fucking God say yes. The temptation of having the little minx here would be hell, but it would give me a chance to win her all over again.

“What’s your number? I’ll message you?” She asks, then suddenly looks unsure. “Only if that’s okay.”

Okay? Is she taking the piss. There is nothing I would want more.

“Give me your phone,” She passes it over and I add my number into her phone book. “There, you can call me anytime.”

“I still can’t figure it out.”

“Figure what out?” I wonder.

“What it is about you that’s so familiar,” She says, looking so deep into me, like she’s dying to rip me open and find out all my secrets.

“I can always tell you, but only when you’re ready,” Her eyes widen slightly at that, now she knows there is something to tell.

“Okay. I think I’m almost ready to know,” She smiles at me, before standing to get her bags. “Thank you for last night, for everything.”

“You’re welcome. Also, don’t forget what you promised last night,” I smirk, because I for one, did not forget it at all. She frowns at me, clearly not sure what I’m going on about, “Our date tonight. But maybe tomorrows a better idea?”

“Tomorrow sounds perfect.”
