Chapter Fifteen

Limos

Nomi was curled against my side, her head tucked under my chin after another relocation. The travel bothered her mortal stomach, even though she tried to hide it. I couldn’t get her to eat before she fell asleep. All she managed was a cup of tea.

I thought that satiating my lust would mean I could focus, but if anything, it’d made everything a hundred times worse. I was consumed by her. It didn’t matter where we were or what we were doing, I needed to touch and kiss her whenever the opportunity presented itself.

I’d never thought anyone beautiful, not in a way that served as a distraction, but Nomi was every poetic interpretation of the word.

The reason men fought endless wars. What humans sung about in every generation, no matter how many generations passed.

The reason that kingdoms fell and angels lost their wings.

Having her under me was impossibly satisfying. I hadn’t wanted to let her go. Though, the staggering sight of faded scars all over her body left from a father who, if not for already being dead, would have me to answer to, had roused every protective urge inside me.

And had it not been for the enemies attacking, I might’ve kept her in that bed for hours, days even, laying claim to every part of her. I would’ve kissed every scar left behind and worshipped her gorgeous figure that thrived in spite of her past.

I should be afraid of this being the design of a Counter Soul, but if it was, I was glad for it. It’d brought her to me. It forced my soulless existence to find new life and purpose. Kissing Nomi was the first time I felt like I could breathe.

She was all I thought about since making our escape and the only person I considered when I thought about the end of the world now. For her, it couldn’t end. She didn’t belong anywhere else but by my side.

The influx of demons and angels weren’t what bothered me. Their numbers had grown, but they couldn’t get close to her. I overpowered them without effort. It was the powerful demon lurking that disappeared the second I leveled my attack on the area.

One of the Fallen Brothers.

A powerful fallen angel and brother to Lucifer was watching and learning.

His objective was clear: find an opening and exploit it.

Angels and demons weren’t without cleverness, but a powerful demon like that had sway the others didn’t.

Like Michael, his abilities surpassed the ones presently attacking Nomi.

I hadn’t seen what happened with Zelus’s Counter Soul when a demon marked her for Hell, and now I wished I had. Perhaps then I would have some idea of what I was up against and how to defeat it, whether he’d succeeded or failed.

A sighing breath bathed my neck in gentle heat as Nomi slipped deeper into sleep. Moving onto my back, I kept the slumbering woman on my chest with an arm securely wrapped around her back. I pressed my face into her hair and closed my eyes, thinking through moves to keep her safe.

She told me she wasn’t afraid, but she wasn’t the one I was worried about. Because fear had been eating away at me since I sensed the powerful demon. It was an emotion I couldn’t name at first, but it’d become painfully clear when the powerful fallen angel came into play.

The Fallen Brother had crossed over for her—an act so aggressive it could instigate a war—and he’d done it because the angels looking to either end the world or stop it from ending were preoccupied with us.

I pulled out my phone and stared at the screen. I hadn’t wanted to call on the other Horsemen without finding Ares first, but with a Fallen Brother after Nomi, my priorities had changed.

Ares was strong enough to protect her Counter Soul. Michael threatened me because she didn’t want to go up against the Horseman they called War. She might know where Ares was, but that was only one part of it.

No one outwitted the being created as the ultimate battle tactician. Not even an archangel as strong as Michael could outsmart Ares. I’d been eager to help her, but it was wishful thinking to believe she needed me.

She didn’t.

But Nomi did.

I selected the name of the Horseman who everyone feared the most and shot off a quick text. Nomi’s blue hair covered her face after she moved, so I brushed it aside with the hand not presently typing the message, unsatisfied when I couldn’t see her face.

The phone vibrated a half second later with a reply, and I sent back a confirmation that in a day’s time, I’d meet the others at a safe location to discuss Nomi’s present situation. I was powerful, but up against a Fallen Brother and Michael, I’d regret not utilizing the help I did have.

Nomi was worth whatever it cost me to ask for it.

I lurked behind my mortal as she cooked us breakfast, refusing to let me do anything but watch. She’d been vocal about what she called balance. Something to do with the joy found in giving as much as receiving.

Ares would definitely enjoy her company once it was safe to find the other Horseman. Nomi was infinitely kind and thoughtful, just like Ares.

Her first thought after waking was to call her father. She’d asked if it was okay if she did, and I found that even if it gave our location away, I wouldn’t be able to say no to her.

Her smile and happy laughter after hearing about his annoyance with the new baker he’d hired tugged at my own lips. Nomi was always so vibrant. No matter how much had happened in the last few days, she never truly lost her smile. And I vowed to protect that smile of hers, too.

The determined mortal didn’t look over as I brushed her hair aside and kissed her bare shoulder, relishing the mesmerizing display of freckles trailing from one end to the other. I traced a path between a few of them with my finger and stole curious glances at her face between brushes.

She ignored me.

I’d never understood Zelus’s fascination with riling up mortals with his words and actions until now. It was endlessly entertaining to see her react to the things I did. To rouse a subtle blush or sound she hadn’t wanted to give me.

I grabbed her side and pressed myself against her from behind. A soft, shaky breath escaped her after I leaned in and bit her ear.

“I thought you wanted me to eat,” she teased even as she pushed back into me and wrapped her arm around the back of my thigh.

I dragged my lips down the curve of her neck, enjoying the way her scent intensified when she was aroused. “I do.”

“Your actions speak to the contrary, my guy,” came her breathy reply.

I caged her into the counter. “You’re nearly done,” I whispered in a hoarse timbre, rich with promise. “And when you’re done, I’ll feed it to you.”

She moaned as I thrust my hardening cock against her soft backside. “Well, I won’t finish if you’re doing that.”

My hands snaked up her thighs, slipping under the skirt of her sundress.

It was hotter in this part of the world, and I’d encouraged her to wear this white and red floral dress that fluttered when she moved by leaving it out on the bed before she woke.

She’d put it on like the good girl she was, and I’d fought smiling when she came out of the room wearing it.

She was truly the most beautiful creature I’d ever laid my eyes on.

I snuck my hand into her panties, and my mortal was already indecently wet. So I sunk a finger into her slick folds and she shuddered under my caress.

“Oh god,” she groaned, hips bucking. “I’ll burn the French Toast.”

I sucked on her neck, leaving a glaring red spot. It satisfied some weird need in my head to see my mark on her. Then I eyed the food in question. “I can cook while you come, little wisp.”

“That filthy mouth isn’t fair, Ghost, and you know it,” she whined, her hips moving. I pushed several fingers inside her and used the heel of my hand to rub her favorite spot while dragging my tongue up the erratic pulse point on her neck.

These urges had plagued me all night while she slept. Tomorrow, we’d be going to meet the other Horsemen. The thought of not touching her like this when I wanted to drove me to taking what I could today. I shed my cloak of indifference and openly lusted for her.

And by the breathless moan spilling from her lips, she didn’t mind at all. If anything, she encouraged my spontaneity. Nomi was quick to deny herself and argue, but she clung to me and kissed back just as quickly. She wanted my impulsivity to be her excuse, and I wouldn’t fail to give it to her.

She leaned forward on shaky legs, but I kept her from burning herself on the stove by yanking her back with the hand still inside her. She let loose a keening moan and sank into my embrace. With the other hand, I quickly plated the food and turned off the burner.

My fingers worked in and out of her, battering all the spots she responded to. I wasn’t in any hurry, but with the way she quivered, she wouldn’t last long, and I wanted her to come on my tongue, not my fingers.

She gasped loudly as I turned her around and set her on the island behind us. “What are you—”

I pushed her back to lay her out and yanked her body across the slippery surface until her legs were over my shoulders. Then I removed her panties and stuffed them into my back pocket. She wouldn’t need them today. Perhaps not ever again.

“You’re not going to—”

Oh, but I was.

Nomi was my favorite food, and I’d take my time eating her until I was satisfied before I finally fed her.

I bit the inside of her thigh, cutting her protest short. She whimpered and grabbed my shoulder, but she didn’t push me away. Her craving matched mine, and it was the entire reason her legs opened to me, just enough to make it clear she was giving in.

“You’re beautiful, little wisp.”

Her face flushed, then her bottom lip got caught between her teeth like she couldn’t get enough. Her eyes were hooded when they settled on me. “You’re just trying to get into my pants,” she rebuked breathlessly.

I kept all emotion from my expression, too close to smiling again. “You’re not wearing any pants.”

“Oh, now you make jokes, Ghost?”

The little laugh that fled her swiftly changed into a sharp gasp. Because I couldn’t wait any longer. I devoured her soft, wet cunt and satisfied the devastating urge I’d battled all night.

Nomi arched and moaned my name, her legs shuddering with the pleasure my mouth gave her. I tasted every inch of her center and stroked her slit from top to bottom, her sweetness spreading on my tongue. With a groan, I drove my tongue in deeper to seek more.

Her breathing changed, desperate, wanting, and wild. Nomi liked everything I did to her.

Before her, I hadn’t cared to learn about sex. What I did know about it was only because I’d unintentionally stumbled onto it. But I’d spent all night seeking knowledge on the subject.

I’d combed endless mortal sites with proper guidance on techniques and must-knows. A few proved to be more fantasy than fact, but I’d found a great deal of usable information that I couldn’t wait to try on my little wisp.

I’d use every bit of it on her in hopes of binding the mortal to me in ways others couldn’t. My motives were wholly selfish. I wanted Nomi to crave me the way I craved her.

“Limos,” she moaned, rocking back and forth on my mouth. “I’m already so close.”

Clutching her thighs, I didn’t let her wiggle away.

She always tried to when she was on the edge of an orgasm.

I sucked and prodded, swirling my tongue around the swollen nub that always made her cry out.

Her hands were in my hair, pulling and guiding my mouth, her hips swiveling and chasing friction.

My fingers went inside her, and it wasn’t a second later that her wet channel constricted around them. Her back bowed and her hands squeezed. Pulse after pulse, she came, her taste intensifying and filling my mouth. She tasted better than the treats she made.

“Oh, fuck!” she screamed as I continued to work her clit through her release.

When she went limp, her entire body flushed with red, I finally stood up.

Her glassy gaze lifted to mine, her chest rising and falling with effort. “Looks like fanfic pegged you supernatural dudes right,” she murmured cutely, still flushed and panting in the aftermath of her orgasm.

My mouth twitched nearly into a smile. “And how is it they’ve pegged us?”

She giggled for some reason, mumbling something about pegging, and then stared at me. “They make it out like you’ll destroy us for human men after you’ve pummeled us with your supernatural cocks, and…yeah, okay, you totally did.”

Something about her statement made me puff up with pride.

Sitting up, she planted a hand on my chest and pushed me back. I retreated a step with my head tipped to the side in confusion. She hopped off the counter and then was suddenly on her knees in front of me.

I’d seen other mortals this way, presented as an offering, eager to please, but none of them held a candle to my little wisp.

When those icy blues shot up from the floor, her flushed skin and breasts indecent from this angle, it went straight to my cock.

The hard pulse was painful as her hands slid from my calves to my thighs.

“But I think you should know something about us fanfic smutties,” she said, her face level with my erection. “We’re something of a destroyer ourselves.”

I wasn’t left confused long. She had my dick out fast enough to impress me, her hand wrapped around the base and the flared head aimed at her mouth. Her eyes went up to mine, and my entire body pulsed with the heat in that gaze of hers.

“Your turn.”

Then she swallowed the length into her wet mouth and I had to grasp the counter for support, my world shattering with the bliss of a clever tongue.
