JAY’S JOURNAL
February seems to be flying by. Classes are classes, and Davis is still my Computer Jesus since my classmates continue to be jerkwads. But none of that matters because Mickey and I have really hit our stride.
Anyway, the drama this winter has only brought us closer together. I know I keep writing this here, but I am so glad that she suggested that I reach out to Diana. I’m glad that the suggestion was Mickey’s, that she is willing to give me this.
I got a new email from Diana today. Her mother is intent on matching her up with one of their family friend’s sons, which I guess in theory could work for someone who likes both like Diana does, but I am pretty sure the friend in question only likes boys.
Julia is apparently getting over another heartbreak, but is also ever the skirt chaser, classic Julia.
That girl falls in love faster and harder than anyone I know, but for whatever reason, her crushes never stick around.
I told Diana about Mickey in my last note, and she wrote back that she is happy for me.
I haven’t brought up feelings for her or anything yet because I am just content at the moment to be on speaking terms. She said she has made a new friend, which is interesting, considering Diana hated how much everyone in school wanted to be her friend just because she’s a Blake.
I wanna know more about who this friend is who has won her over.
I wanna read one day that she’s fallen in love too, that she’s found her Mickey.
I guess the idea should make me jealous, but for whatever reason it doesn’t. Maybe that’s just big love at play.
I am also super glad she wrote to me today, because she gave me a bitchin idea for my plan to take Mickey out for Valentine's Day.
I know things have gotten better, but sometimes I am still shaken by the idea that I could have lost Mickey.
So I really want a special night. I want to show her how things could be with us everyday.
I want to take her out on another romantic date, shoot the shit, and then fall into bed together.
I want to remind her that I am in this with her, and that we have something that belongs only to us.
I want to show her how much I love her and how much I love being with her.
Diana said she and Julia went to see Fools Rush In with Mathew Perry and Salma Hayek.
Apparently Salma Hayek is hot as hell, and of course Julia will not stop talking about her.
I think it would make a great movie for the night.
I know Mickey really wants to see Rosewood, but considering the movie is about a racist white mob burning a thriving Black town to the ground, I think I will pass on that for Valentine’s Day.
After all, if all goes well, this will not be the last movie we see together.
My birthday is in a couple of weeks, maybe that will be another reason to go to the movies. Even if what we watch will be dark as hell, I know it's something Mickey wants to see. If she’s happy, that’s all I need on my birthday.
In other news, Alex hasn’t hung out with us as a group, but Davis has been hanging with him a ton.
I asked Davis about it, but he just says “it's cool,” aka “leave it alone.” Which I am fine with, so long as Alex knows he has a place with all of us. I’m glad Davis has taken Alex under his wing – well obviously not when in class, working, or being Computer Jesus. Actually, how is he doing it?
Absolutely smitten,
Jay
