5. Haze #2
I groaned, trying to move away from him.
“It’s one of Dream’s. We didn’t exactly have time to prepare, so we took what we could get.
” I watched as Indi shot her legs out and gripped the bars of the cage, making a seductive face.
“Plus, Indi didn’t want to have to wear another wig.
So, to keep her face hidden and her natural hair free, they decided on a mask. ”
“Oh.” I nodded. “Well, I just hope she keeps that little collar on and the back of her neck covered.”
I looked over at him, confused. “Why?”
He tilted his head. “Know anyone else with the name Haze inked across the back of their neck?”
I tried not to smile and adjusted my posture before changing the subject. “Any sign of Kief?” He shook his head. “It’s almost midnight. He—”
I nearly choked on my words as I watched Indi grip a little zipper on the front of her bodysuit and slowly pull at it, unzipping the front. She moved around in the cage, revealing the smallest black set of lingerie which sparkled as she danced.
Oh…I’m going to kick Felix’s ass.
Instinctively, I lunged forward, but Spider grabbed my arm and stopped me. My nostrils flared as it took everything in my power to plant my feet and not run to her.
“Careful,” Spider warned. “If you don’t chill the fuck out, you’ll blow everyone’s cover.”
I ripped my arm free from his grasp and roughly adjusted the collar of my suit, reluctantly obeying.
I really fucking hate this. All of it.
My eyes glared up at the stage, watching as Indi stepped free of the chained body suit, wearing little to nothing.
Two other dancers joined her and opened the pink cage, allowing her to step onto the stage with her platform heels.
My blood boiled as I listened to the crowd cheer her on, a small crowd of men gathering at the edge of the stage, begging her to strip some more.
Cash rained down along the stage, and she slowly fell to her knees and crawled towards the edge, taunting the fuckers as they showered her in their money.
I scoffed, almost impressed at how easy it was for her to hook every guy in the building. But what really humored me was the fact that while she was clacking her heels and toying with these men, her pussy was still probably aching and dripping with my cum from earlier.
If only they knew.
I grinned for a moment, replaying all the dirty little things she’d done to me just hours ago. And as I did, my boner grew.
Such a naughty little sis.
I adjusted my pants and cleared my throat, trying to focus. “Why don’t you take that side?” I pointed to the bar on the other end of the floor. “Check out the bar and some of the VIP booths around the corner. I’ll stick to this side and keep an eye on the audience.”
Spider hesitated. “The audience…sure.” He winked. “You do that, Haze.” Spider walked away, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
“Prick,” I muttered under my breath. My eyes returned to Indi on stage as I kept closer to the wall, staying in the shadows.
You do that…
I mentally mocked Spider, watching my twin carefully.
But the truth was, I didn’t fucking care about Spider or Kief, or anyone else in The Cosmic Oxen. All I could fucking think about was Indi…who was now spinning on a god damn stripper pole.
Kill me now.
She twirled around the pole and danced better than any of the other professional strippers on that stage, clacking her heels and shaking her ass while she rocked her hips, perfectly moving her body to the looming beat.
Watching her perform like that made my dick completely jump to life, nearly ripping my pants.
“Fuck,” I groaned.
Buzz.
I reluctantly peeled my eyes from her and took my phone out to see a text from Spider.
Eyes on the prize, lover boy.
I looked up to see Spider’s smug face from across the room. He stared back at me with a wide grin as my phone buzzed again.
Look up.
My eyes raised to spot the VIP lounge on the second floor, the one reserved for only the highest-paying customers here at The Cosmic Oxen.
The luxurious lounge overlooked the stage from the second floor, complete with private bottle service and the best seats in the house.
And sitting in the center of that damned section, dressed in a suit while smoking a cigar, was none other than my fucking cousin, Kief.
Found you, fucker.
I took one last look at Indi on stage before motioning Spider to follow my lead.
He nodded as the two of us casually wandered around toward the front of the club, blending in as best we could.
We met at the base of the stairs near the front, which led up to the VIP lounge.
Unfortunately, the staircase was roped off and had two members of Kief’s security standing close.
And from the looks of it, they were both armed.
Spider leaned in and whispered. “How do you want to handle them?”
I opened my mouth to speak, but just then, Ray appeared. “We might not have to. Look.” And as fate would have it, Kief also appeared. He was coming down the stairs from the lounge, shadowed by more of his men, presumably to meet Ray.
Now this could be worth watching.
Spider and I casually stood nearby and out of view, casually listening while the two men spoke.
“I was beginning to wonder if you’d ever show up,” Kief taunted, smoking his cigar.
He stopped maybe six steps from the floor and eyed Ray with contempt.
“So, one of the women in bottle service somehow stole my card and just so happened to go wild with it at the very club you were spotted partying in. Is that right?”
Ray nodded, terrified of Kief. “Y–yes! I–I swear!”
What a fucking coward.
Kief plucked the cigar from his mouth, and I noticed the scar on his hand from where Dream had shot him.
Ha.
“Somehow, I find that very hard to believe.
" He stepped down a step or two, moving closer to Ray. Kief snapped his fingers, and we watched as two of his men grabbed the dealer and covered his mouth. One of Kief’s men forcefully yanked his arm out and slapped it along the railing, ripping his sleeve back as Ray struggled.
He tried to shout and scream, but his muffled cries were silenced by the music.
Kief lowered the cigar from his mouth, admiring. “Cuban cigars really are my favorite. They just remind me so much of home.” His eyes flicked to Ray. “Since you caught me in a rather pleasant mood, I’ll ask you one more time. Where is she?”
My head tilted at his words.
Wait.
Ray struggled to form a sentence.
“I see.” Kief moved quickly and pressed the lit end of the cigar into the top of Ray’s hand.
The dealer tried to cry out, but the more he struggled, the more Kief’s men restrained him.
“What? Oh, I’m sorry, I can’t hear you!” Kief pressed the cigar deeper into Ray’s burning flesh, laughing with a sinister smile.
“Ahh!” He finally removed the cigar and watched as the man buckled over.
“Ahh. Now I see the resemblance,” Spider whispered.
I rolled my eyes.
Kief’s phone suddenly rang, and he answered.
“Toro.” He nodded, looking back towards the stage for a second.
“Oh? I see. Thank you for letting me know.” He hung up the call, tucking his phone into his suit jacket before looking back at Ray.
“Since you’re so persistent on blaming this woman, I want you to find her.
Oh. And the next time you try to call Toro behind my back.
” He leaned down, glaring at Ray. “Will be the last.” He spat at Ray.
“One more mistake, and I personally hand you over to the green-eyed devil myself. After all.” He leaned towards Ray with a darkened expression.
“You’re the one who led me right to his white-haired friend. I’m sure he’d just love to meet you.”
My fists clenched at my sides, remembering how Felix almost died ‘cause of these fuckers.
Kief turned and retreated back up the stairs, returning to the VIP lounge with his men.
He left Ray at the base of the steps, his hand bloodied and seared as tears flowed from his eyes.
I watched as the petty dealer crawled to his feet, wiping his face.
He grumbled loudly and cussed at Kief in Spanish, swinging his good arm as he smacked a tray from one of the servers.
She gasped, dropping the tray as he snatched a half-drunked glass in a hurry. “Give me that!”
“Well…now what?” Spider asked.
My eyes remained locked on the dealer as he stumbled further into the strip club.
He plucked a few ice cubes from the glass, drinking the rest of whatever was in that cup before tossing it aside, placing the ice cubes over his burned hand.
He finally took a seat near the front of the stage and looked right up at Indi.
She was still dancing, unaware of the fact that Ray was only a few feet away.
Careful, little sis.
Spider’s phone buzzed, and he quietly stepped away for a moment. I kept watching my sister. She had tossed the little bow collar aside and was playing with her long hair, whipping it around as she touched herself in ways that made every man in that room stir. Including myself.
Damn it.
I tried to control my boner.
I don’t know much more of this I can take.
Ray continued to watch Indi as she turned her back to the crowd and lowered herself down along the pole, tossing her hair over her shoulder. Ray suddenly pulled out his phone and raised it to his ear. His call was brief, lasting maybe a few seconds before he hung up.
Probably nothing of importance.
A few minutes passed as Indi’s little show finally came to an end. She blew a kiss to the audience and gathered as much of the cash onstage as she could before rushing off of it in a hurry. Everyone cheered and whistled as the stage went dark.
I exhaled, knowing she was done for the night.
Fucking finally.
“Haze.” I forced my eyes away and looked at Spider. “That was Felix. He said Toro is on the move.”
My brows furrowed. “Toro? Why?”
“No idea, but we better get a move on. Kief’s driver just pulled up, which means he’s about to head out.”
