30. Gisele
“Have you heard anymore from Josh?” I asked Claudia again. All day Jamison had been out of contact with me. Since the night before all I had received was a short vague message about needing to look into a tip he received and a thumbs up emoji. For a worrier like me, that was the worst in my book. A single emoji in reply to my text asking if he was okay.
Jamison had helped me, and my family clean up Elle’s place when he returned from Gracefield. He seemed happy, greeting everyone cheerfully, taking some time to play with Miracle and Optimus. He had kissed me senseless several times in front of my parents, laughed alone with jokes. He seemed happy. It wasn’t until after he went outside to the backyard to talk to Elle had his mood changed.
He had left without saying goodbye, he left without saying anything to me.
He left without me.
Elle told me Jamison told her to give Miracle a smooch but that was it. Nothing for me.
Dad and Josh left early in the morning saying Jamison needed their help navigating the bush behind my parents property but that was all I knew. All day I had done everything to keep my mind busy, I worked my shift at the store, went and picked Miracle up from school. I baked a batch of her favourite muffins to take with her to her father’s as it was his weekend to have her. My precious but stubborn daughter insisted that she be allowed to take Optimus with her, since Jamison was MIA as far as communicating with me, I made the decision that it would be okay for her to take the pug with her. Knowing that Jamison had practically handed the little creature over to my daughter. Liam hadn’t liked it, but with Georgina and Elle at my back standing on the footpath in front of his house, both daring him to break his daughter’s heart, he relented and agreed to let the dog in his house.
I truly hated dropping Miracle off to Liam once a fortnight, hated seeing the worry in her eyes and the trepidation when I walked away. When she went to Liam’s I allowed her to take her iPad with her. It was cellular so she could message me whenever she needed, today though I noticed she forgot to take it. My mental note to go back and give it to her forgotten because my mind was stuck on what I’d done to make Jamison act so strangely. I was fraught with doubt that Jamison was going to leave Blessings soon. Uneasy about the night before and the way he left without so much as a word. On top of that I had a bad feeling about Liam having Miracle for his court appointed visit, more than usual. Then I had Elle pretending she was fine and not at all concerned what Jamison was looking for and why it required my father and brother-in-law’s assistance.
I knew the bush just as well as dad and Josh, why hadn’t Jamison asked me to help him. With my head swimming, I decided to do just that and go for a swim. The afternoon was unusually hot for this time of the year, and what was the point of having a pool in your backyard if you didn’t use it.
“I’m going for a swim,” I announced to my sisters, getting up from the lounge and heading for my room, not waiting for them to reply. Of course, I knew that they were going to join me, so I pulled out three bathing suits leaving two on my bed, taking the hot pink bikini with me to my en-suite. Ten minutes later and a phone call to my bestie to join us, my sisters, Dani and I were in the above ground kidney shaped pool with a deck built around the pool by my wonderful dad. The pool and deck was surrounded by a kid proof fence that fit in with the style I wanted. It was a great family gathering area in the summer months and also nice to sit on the deck in the cooler months cuddled up the numerous comfy outdoor lounge suites. Miracle and I liked to look up at the stars at night when it wasn’t too cold and try and count them. I had hoped that Jamison would enjoy the same comfortable family time with me and Miracle.
“Chickee, swimming involves actually moving in the water,” Claudia said interrupting my thoughts, annoyingly.
Poking out my tongue, I pushed off the pool wall with my feet and swum a few laps, before giving up and going back to the shallow end, throwing my arms over the edge and laid out in the water on my stomach, languidly kicking my feet. Doing my best to relax, I found the tension about Jamison ease and started to enjoy the company of three of my favourite people. Dani and I had been friends since primary school, she was my age, but she was considered a part of our family. My sisters considered her one of our own.
“Do you think Georgina could get away with being a serial killer?” Elle suddenly asked. The question was out of the blue, but not weird, not for a Blessing female.
Thinking on it for a few minutes, I shook my head.
“She’s too impulsive. She wouldn’t be able to keep her mouth shut.”
“And she would make way too many mistakes,” Claudia agreed, adding her thoughts to Elle’s question. “And she is too vain to be a serial killer, after the first one she’d probably ring the news station herself demanding they interview her on camera.”
After sharing a round of laughter, our conversation got even weirder.
“How would you kill someone Gissy?” Elle asked, floating on her back, her hands moving lazily through the water.
“Hmmm, I think I would start with wearing one of those head-to-toe white body suits, you know the plastic ones that comes with booties for your shoes.”
“Oh, good one chickee,” Elle enthused, “that lessens the chance of leaving any fibres or hairs at the scene.”
“I’d choose someone in another town,” Claudia said joining in on the fun. “Those forensic shows say normally serial killers work in their own town or city.”
“Throw them off the scent from the get-go,” Dani clapped, also getting into it.
“I wouldn’t hide the body in a mine shaft,” I mused thoughtfully, “I’d hate to get daddy in trouble.”
“Woodchipper?” Claudia suggested, but Elle shook her head.
“Negative, too messy and too loud. The sound of it might be heard.”
“Ocean body dump then?”
“Oh, I like that one,” Elle said, her smile radiant and happy. Not because of the morbid direction of our conversation but because she was nearly free from Jake.
“We could travel to another state under the guise of a holiday and buy what we needed and bring it back so no one could say they saw us buying anything that way use cash not credit cards?—”
The sound of men chuckling brought a loud screech from my lips. Spinning around in the water, I stood up to see my dad, Josh, Dani’s husband Ryan and Jamison. The men looking at us with both amusement and cautious wonder.
“Planning something, we need to know about ladies?” Jamison the first to speak up. His question was directed at all of us but was me his deep blue eyes were transfixed on.
Me and my bikini.
Heat rushed through me at the intensity in his eyes as he took in the tiny triangles covering my breasts, before slowly making his way back up to my face.
Hooking his pointer finger, Jamison wriggled it at me.
“Out of the pool gorgeous. You and I have some things to discuss that can’t wait.” Walking around the deck, his eyes never leaving me, Jamison stopped where I was and without worrying about getting wet bent at the waist and hauled me out of the pool, lifting my wet body against his chest and carried me bridal style past my sisters and best friend, giving the men a firm nod then walked into my house not stopping until we reached my en-suite. Still holding onto me, my arms tightly around his neck, he leaned into my shower stall and turned on the water. Only when he was happy with the temperature of the water did he put me on my feet inside the shower.
I watched in shocked fascination as he made quick work of removing his clothes, his muscular naked body rendering me speechless and very turned on.
Not giving me much time to drool over his glorious body, Jamison crowded me in the stall his tallness and the size of his body making the stall feel closed in. With a flick of his fingers at the back of my neck Jamison had my bikini top off in seconds, pulling on the strings until it was off me and sitting at my feet. Next to go was the bottoms, the strings at my hips. And just like that I was naked and wrapped in Jamison’s powerful arms, warm water running between us, pooling at our chest because there was nowhere for it to go, his hold on me so close, so tight and so needed.
After a day of my mind in turmoil just being held by Jamison, even though he had barely said anything since pulling me from the pool, I felt safe and happy to have him with me.
After a few minutes of enjoying having Jamison hold me, my body warm from the water, I pulled back enough to look up at his handsome face.
“Honey?”
“Shush woman, not yet” Jamison answered me, his voice gruff. Keeping me in his embrace, Jamison bent his head and touched his lips to mine in the softest of kisses. Keeping our lips fused, his eyes open and looking directly into mine. Starting to worry about his silence, I stayed where he wanted me. Not kissing but our lips touching.
A minute passed and I was about to ask Jamison what the heck was going on when he let out a laugh.
“Seriously, you lasted sixty seconds Gisele.”
“You aren’t saying anything,” I complained in my defence.
“Maybe because I was enjoying just holding you after being away from you all night and day.” He quipped back making me mad. He was the one who left the night before without so much as a wave.
“Well maybe you should have stayed last night instead of taking off without a word,” I told him with a little more heat than I intended but damn it he was making me mad.
“Hmmm,” Jamison hummed, pecking my lips then at the sensitive skin at my throat.
“Maybe if you talked to me about what’s worrying you about us instead of hearing it from your sister, I wouldn’t have walked away last night.” Jamison countered back at me, in his detective voice. I had no idea what he was talking about but judging by Jamison’s expression I was about to find out.
“Birth control Gisele, why haven’t you told me that you have been worried about us not using protection?”
With a bell going off in my head, I suddenly wanted to strangle Elle. Knowing it had been her to tell Jamison after she berated me for being so stupid.
“Honey, I?—”
“No Gisele, it’s my turn to talk. First, I apologize for not taking care of protecting you. My only thoughts were getting inside you and making love to you.”
Having nothing to say to that, I let Jamison continue.
“You don’t want any more babies, then we start using something but please don’t make me wear a condom. After having you bare, I couldn’t handle having anything between me and your perfect pussy.” He begged, bringing a brilliant smile to my face, almost immediately forgetting why I had been mad with him.
Sliding my arms from between us to wrap around his neck, I looked at the man I was completely and endlessly in love with.
“Jamison I never said I didn’t want more children. I have a lot of ghosts that still plague me whenever the subject comes up. Not just for me with Miracle’s birth but also for Claudia after her miscarriage. You have me so out of my mind with lust I forget to even consider using protection and that made me feel like an idiot.” I told him truthfully, finally laying it all out for him.
“You’re not an idiot because if you are then, so am I, and baby when I’m with you I feel like the luckiest man in the world.” Kissing me properly this time, I lavished his lips with all the love I could muster, but predictably Jamison wasn’t finished.
“I understand that you are worried about history repeating itself. Your dad and Josh put me straight there. Giving me some insight how to deal with a Blessing woman,” he smirked, accepted a playful slap to his firm arse from me with a cheeky grin.
“Sassy,” he growled without any heat, then he sobered. “I mean it Gisele, if you want to go on birth control or if you want me to have a vasectomy I —”
“No!” I screeched, my loud refusal echoing around us in the small stall. “Jamison no I don’t want you to do that. I love you honey, I’d love to have your baby, it’s just me and my dramatics that got me all twisted up.” I had more to say but Jamison had gone stock still, almost not breathing.
“Say. That. Again.” He whispered, a long pause between each word.
Knowing what he needed to hear, I held onto his large shoulders giving him no warning as I jumped up, my legs winding around his hips.
Thankfully, the shower had a non-slip mat, and my man was strong otherwise we might have ended up on our arses.
Smiling sweetly at him, with me at this height we were nose to nose, lips to lips.
“I do Jamison. I love you.”
“Oh baby, my beautiful darling,” Jamison breathed into my mouth reverently. “I never thought I would ever get so lucky to hear that from you. I love you too Gisele, with everything I have to give you. I love you now and I will love you every day to come.”
The heady feeling of those words sweeping over me was so indescribable, never did I expect to fall in love so hard so thoroughly. It took a detective from the big smoke who arrested my father to prove me wrong.
“No vasectomy honey, but maybe we wait a little before knocking me up. Next week I’ll make an appointment to get on contraception, until then I’m sure we can find other ways to get your come inside me.”
“Fuck Gisele you can’t say shit like that to me and expect me to control myself,” Jamison groaned his teeth sinking into that spot under my ear he knew was one of my weaknesses.
We were yet to have a conversation about his job now that Jake had been found alive and well. Somewhat well. However, the way Jamison was talking, I had an inkling he had a plan already in place about his work. I had no doubt he will tell me soon enough.
For the first time in a very long time, I wasn’t worried about the future. For me or my family.
“How about we do nasty things in the shower, then get to bed where we can do them all over again?” I suggested, already wiggling my hips so his cock was bumping against my entrance.
“Nothing we do is nasty Gisele, just perfect for us.” And with that he pushed his hips forward and penetrated me in one slowly thrust.
“You say the sweetest thing Detective Jury,” I whispered, my mouth hovering over his.
“You haven’t heard anything yet, Ms Blessing.”
Words weren’t needed for a long while after that. Jamison and I surely did get creative how to deal with his seed. Let’s just say my taste buds were very satisfied all night long.
