31. Jamison
After a long night of making sweet love to my woman, I was feeling less heavy in mind and spirit. The body was a little sore, but I was not going to complain about that. Gisele had been just as insatiable as me, neither of us not getting enough of each other until the early hours of the morning when we finally fell asleep wrapped in a knot of arms and legs. Both of us totally spent and both hopelessly in love.
We showered together again this morning, Gisele wanting to explore my body this time without me interrupting her. She demanded that she needed to practice giving me blow-jobs, and who was I to say no to the love of my life.
Sitting at the kitchen bench, a fresh cup of coffee in front of me, I waited for Gisele to return back home. After our shower I wanted to continue our talk about her unwillingness to talk to me about issues that involved me, Gisele being the stubborn woman she was first wanted to duck out to drop off Miracle’s iPad to her. Telling me that last night she forgot to do it, which I took blame for and why I offered to take care of it when I got up this morning, but Gisele refused to let me go anywhere near Liam’s house after the encounter I had with him at the grocery store. In theory she was valid to be so concerned, Liam came into the shop when he knew better. However, Gisele thought me going to his residence would be like waving a red flag in front of a bull. It had not escaped me that my woman was not in favour of confrontations and did everything in her power to avoid them like the plague.
Agreeing to let her go on her own, I made her promise to not dally or let Liam goad her into an argument. If she got any impression that Liam had a single issue with Miracle having Optimus with her then I instructed her to bring the dog home with her. I had no rights to Miracle … yet, but I was working on a plan to rectify that issue.
Gisele and I were moving fast, I admitted that, owned it. However, I didn’t give a fuck if it was fast or not, Gisele was mine and with her came her little girl. Four weeks in Blessings and already I considered myself part of the town and part of the Blessing family. Marrying Gisele also meant being a dad to Miracle. Liam had limited custodial visits with Miracle, but he still had rights. Rights I did not have.
Looking at the wall clock and noting that Gisele had seven minutes left before I went looking for her, I heard the front door open and the sound of size seven feet stomping down the hall towards the kitchen that was located at the back of her house.
Oh shit.
The hairs on the back of my neck stood on ends, my shackles raised.
If that prick said something to Gisele, no one not her or her father would be able to stop me punching his lights out.
“Baby?” I called out just as Gisele entered the kitchen, her face red and her Blessing temper on full display.
“What happened?” I asked immediately, walking over to her and noticing that my pug was not with her.
“I swear that douchebag, wanking, dick-licker, arsehole, prick-face pathetic excuse for a father is going to go too far one day,” Gisele exploded, walking straight into my arms face planting into my chest.
Stifling a chuckle, because now was not the time, I rubbed her back and waited for her to calm down. “You know you’re lucky Miracle isn’t home to hear all that, baby.”
“Where do you think I learned it,” Gisele answered with a huff, pulling back to look at her, I held her face between my hands, forcing her to give me her eyes.
“Talk to me, gorgeous.” Angry that once again Liam was getting under Gisele’s skin. Gisele worked up was beautiful but not when the cause was her child’s sperm donor.
“I hate him Jamison, I really hate him,” Gisele whispered, her pretty blue eyes full of regret. “Liam wanted Optimus out, but Miracle refused to listen to him. Apparently, he made the dog stay outside last night then complained that Miracle was upset with him all night.” My own anger was nearly at boiling point, but I let decided to let Gisele finish otherwise she would go off on a tangent if I interrupted her.
“She wouldn’t eat the breakfast Liam made for her, so he yelled at her for that. He knows what she likes and what she doesn’t, but still he served up what she didn’t like eating. It’s like he enjoys going out of his way to torment her.” With each word Gisele spoke the angrier I got. What kind of father got pleasure out of upsetting his own kid?
“I have to get these visitations changed Jamison. I don’t want him to have her overnight anymore, but I know it will be a fight that Liam will take on just to spite me. Not because he wants his daughter.” Again, my anger boiled, Gisele’s love for her daughter, not wanting to see her parents fighting in court, the reason for her hesitance.
“I gave Miracle her iPad and told her to contact me straightaway if Liam continued being nasty to her or the dog. I also added your number into her contact list, if that is, okay?”
“Baby you don’t even have to ask that.” I replied instantly, annoyed at myself for not already thinking of doing it myself. “Is he likely to hurt her physically?” I asked and hating Liam for making me ask. Optimus being at his place now seemed like a bad idea. I didn’t want my dog presence in his home giving Liam any leverage against Miracle or her mother.
“Gisele let me go and bring Optimus back here, it might help Miracle feel safer there,” I suggested but my woman shook her head between my hands.
“No! She loves that pug, please Jamison. I promise Liam won’t harm him.”
I was more worried about Miracle, the reason I offered to go get my dog, but now I was a little concerned just how far Liam’s nasty streak would go to upset Miracle or punish Gisele for beginning a relationship with me. Either way I couldn’t help feeling responsible and my need to fix this new problem for Gisele.
Just then Gisele’s phone dinged with a message, letting her face go, I waited anxiously for her to pull out her phone.
“Miracle,” she breathed, holding her phone so I could read the message too.
Father has stopped being a poo head. Optimus is inside with me now. Love you to pieces xoxoxoxo.
“Father?” I questioned, frowning. What eight-year-old refereed to their dad as Father?
Looking down at her phone screen, Gisele smiled. “Yeah, she never calls him dad, not to his face, not when she talks about him. Always father.” She shrugged but the smile on her face was a relieved one. By Miracle sending that message to her mum, it told me how bright she really was, and that she knew her mum would be worrying. My heart filled with love for my little lamb and a fierce need to protect her. To be the father she deserved, not the one is had been saddled.
Mentally I noted the names of family law solicitors I knew back in Gracefield who Gisele could use to get sole custody of Miracle and kicking Liam out of their lives for good.
Looking over Gisele’s shoulder, I saw that I had a half hour before I was due to meet with a colleague to hand over the boat Jock, Josh and I found hidden behind an old unused mining shed once used to house explosives according to Jock. The shed had been deep in the bush hidden by overgrown bracken bushes. Jock told me that there were many dotted through the bush area, but this one was the oldest and he presumed it had to have rotted away by now, like a few others already had. It was also the largest one, big enough to stash a small fishing boat in.
When we approached the shed the first thing, I noticed was fresh tyre tracks towards the shed. I stopped Jock and Josh from going any further and continued by myself. I didn’t want to complicate the job for the evidence guys by adding too many footprints to the scene. Carefully I walked without stepping on the tracks and looked into the broken window of the shed and saw a small aluminium boat with no motor and no trailer. Inside the boat I could see several large duffle bags I knew contained more evidence against Jake. Not having the authorisation from my boss to investigate any further without the crime scene unit. I called in for a protection detail to keep watch over the scene just in case Jake’s mates got wind of him being in custody and decided to come up and remove the boat from the shed.
My case against Jake was pretty much an open and shut one, and I didn’t want any mistakes causing that to change.
“Baby, I’m so sorry to do this but I have to get going for a while,” I told Gisele regretfully. Leaving her after a wonderful night and morning together, having her declare her love for me and me to her and now Liam’s shit, the last thing I wanted to do was leave her alone. We still were yet to talk out the details concerning our small lack of communication, but Gisele wasn’t going anywhere, and I certainly wasn’t leaving.
Rubbing her hands down my back, Gisele lifted her face, silently asking for a kiss, which I willingly gave her. The second my lips touched hers, I was semi hard, how my cock even had any life left in it after our marathon night and Gisele blowing me twice that morning was a mystery. I put it down to Gisele and being so lost in love with her.
I meant it when I told her I would leave it up to her if she wanted children with me or not. I didn’t have a burning desire to father kids biologically or pass on my DNA, but having kids wasn’t off the cards, even if it was only being a stepdad. What I did have was an ache and a desperate need for Gisele. For the first time in my life, I was truly in love with a woman. It was the best fucking natural high. During my youth and a few mislead years I tried weed and drank a lot of alcohol, but nothing came close to the high of being in love.
Sappy? I didn’t give a shit. One day in the very near future Gisele was going to have my ring on her finger and Miracle was going to be my daughter. No fucking doubt.
“Hmmm, Detective you sure know how to kiss,” Gisele murmured dreamily against my lips, the corners tilting into a smile.
“Back at ya gorgeous,” I winked at her then reluctantly let her go. “Sorted now baby?” I asked referring to her bad mood due to Liam.
Nodding at me, Gisele pressed a kiss to my throat. “Sorted honey.”
“Good. I’ll see you later baby, but I have my phone so you can get hold of me anytime.” Grabbing my keys and wallet from the bench, I leaned over and gave Gisele one more hot but quick kiss.
“Love you gorgeous.”
“Love you too honey.”
Making my way out of Gisele’s house I smiled all the way to my car.
Sappy? Yep, and proud of it.
