Chapter 7 Late Breakfast and Unyielding Needs
The next day, I woke up to an empty side again.
He had gone Farming as expected.
Just thinking about it, the door opened.
He came in carrying several foods.
Lamb soup, water boiled buns, fried dough sticks, big chicken steak.
All the things I liked sold at the morning market.
Strange, why hadn't he gone out yet today?
The food smelled too good, I didn't even ask.
I focused on eating.
He looked at me and was about to speak.
"Tastes good—"
"Tastes good, I'll eat more..."
I blocked his usual line first.
He swallowed back unhappily.
The air was strangely quiet.
Seconds later, he suddenly spoke.
"Xia Mianmian, still... hurts?"
"Ah?"
I was stunned, didn't react.
He looked at me, gaze sincere.
"Last night... I wasn't..."
A bite of rice almost went down the wrong way. My face flushed red instantly.
"Cough! No, no... no pain..."
He immediately reached out to pat my back.
"That's good."
Thinking about last night's chaotic and embarrassing scene, I felt terrible.
After eating breakfast in silence, he got up to wash the dishes.
Fed Xueqiu.
Walked around a few times, swept the floor.
He dawdled, not leaving the house.
Weird.
I came out from the bathroom and ran into him still wandering the living room.
"Lu Jingchuan, are you not going Farming today?"
He suddenly hugged me from behind, chin rubbing my neck, breath hot.
"Xia Mianmian, try again... okay?"
Me: !!!
"You... in broad daylight! Can't wait till night?"
He tightened his arms, acting spoiled.
"No work in the field today."
Liar! Someone who was eager to be in the field all month suddenly had nothing to do?
"I... I studied seriously last night. Really, this time I'll make sure it doesn't hurt."
His tone carried some pleading.
Me: ...
God damn "studied"!
What exactly did he study!
