60. Vivienne #2

“Too many things to list.” With quick movements, he scoots down until his face is level with my stomach. “I fully intend to blow your mind, baby girl.”

I whimper as he presses his lips against my navel. When his mouth continues traveling south, his hands tugging my pants down, I bunch the comforter in my fists. He slips my trousers and underwear off and discards them across the room, then spreads my legs apart.

The whole time, he gazes at me with a look that takes my breath away. There are so many sensations flowing through my body right now, I don’t know which one to concentrate on. Cass makes the decision for me by burying his face between my thighs. The second his tongue touches me, I let out a cry.

He moans and moves closer, using his hands to angle me up toward his face. His tongue dives into me, sucking and licking and tormenting me into a bliss so sweet, I didn’t know it existed.

“Cass,” I gasp, clenching the blanket and arching my back. “Oh my god, Cass.”

A blinding rapture takes over my body as my mind gets lost in the feelings coursing through me. It feels too good to be anything on earth. This must be heaven. As it ebbs away, I attempt to prop myself on my elbows, but my strength has all but disappeared.

Cass lifts his head and gives me a salacious grin.

“That was having my cake and eating it too.” He drops another kiss to my stomach, then shifts onto his knees.

Reaching behind his back, he pulls his tee over his head, leaving his washboard abs on full display.

Cassian Cordero does not go shirtless often enough.

I reach up to trace the raven tattooed above his right pec, causing him to shiver. “You’re gorgeous,” I whisper, moving my fingertips to the hard ridges of his stomach.

“Gorgeous,” he mutters. “Just the compliment I was hoping for.”

Slipping my hand behind his neck, I draw him down toward me. “What then? Beautiful? Because you’re that, too.”

He roughly claims my mouth and presses himself onto me.

The weight of him makes me gasp, but it gets lost in the kiss.

Reaching behind me, he deftly undoes the clasp of my bra.

It joins the rest of my clothes on the floor.

When his gaze drops to my naked chest, I feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.

“Vivvy.” His voice is a hushed prayer. The cross on his necklace feels warm trapped between our bodies. “Say you’ll marry me.”

“I—” My mouth hangs open as I search for the right response. “Are you—are you proposing?” I glance at the wrinkled linens around us. “In bed?”

He blinks as if trying to recall his words. “No. Not officially, anyway.”

“What then?” My pulse is racing. I’ve dreamed of marrying Cass, of course, but— “Shouldn’t we at least date first?”

“Come on, Vivvy.” His fingers dance over my cheek, his calluses rough against my smooth skin. “Dating is for figuring out if you want to spend the rest of your life with someone. I already know you’re the only thing I’m going to want for all eternity.”

“I just think we’re moving a bit quickly,” I say, biting my lip. “I want to marry you, of course I do, but—”

“But what?” He captures my lips with his own, stealing the words right out of my mouth. After breaking off the kiss, he stares at me, his chest heaving as he pants. “You agreed to marry Davenport after a few months. We’ve loved each other for years.”

I consider this. “True, but I’m not ready to get married.”

Cass frowns, and I smooth the wrinkles on his brow with my fingertips. “But if I ask you someday—”

“I’ll say yes.” I rise up to kiss him again. “Just don’t ask me in bed,” I add.

“Trust me,” he says. “You’re getting the best proposal this city’s ever seen.”

My heart skips a beat, and I’m already starting to regret telling him I want to wait.

“Enough marriage talk. I have a lot of orgasms to make up for.” He lowers his head and sucks hard on my nipple.

I gasp out a laugh. “Excuse me?”

“We wasted a godawful amount of time not being together. I’m not wasting another second,” he says, returning his attention to my breast.

“About that, Cass,” I say, tugging on his hair so he’ll lift his head. “There’s something I need to tell you.”

Shadows instantly move across his eyes. “What?”

“I should’ve mentioned it sooner, but there wasn’t a good time.” I take a deep breath and let it out. “I’m still a virgin.”

“What do you mean you’re a virgin?” He pushes himself onto his elbows.

I cock a brow. “Do you really need me to explain?”

“No. God.” His right hand dives into his hair, pushing it off his forehead before letting it flop back into place. “I just thought . . .”

“I told you it wasn’t like that between Landon and me.”

“I know, but I assumed—” He shakes his head. “I don’t know what I assumed. I guess I didn’t want to think about you with anyone but me, so I didn’t. But I also knew it was foolish to hope.”

Rubbing his arm, I search for his gaze. When he finally meets my eyes, I say, “You know I didn’t date anyone before.”

“Yeah,” he whispers hoarsely. His Adam’s apple bobs as he swallows.

“You didn’t find that strange?”

Cass glances away, playing with a tassel on a discarded pillow. “Of course I did. I just thought I’d somehow gotten lucky. I knew eventually you’d end up with someone, but every day you didn’t felt like one more day for me.” His eyes flick to mine. “It was stupid.”

“Not any more stupid than me not being with anyone because I only wanted to be with you,” I say, letting my fingertips graze the hair on his forearm.

“That’s not stupid,” he growls. “That’s fucking hot.”
