Chapter 14

CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Wolf rushes back through the plane toward me, bracing himself with a hand on the ceiling. “Cole said we’re in for some very bad weather.”

Terror squeezes my heart. Weather, planes, and me are worst enemies. “How bad?”

“Bad enough to force us to land.”

“Where?”

“Isla Rosa most likely unless there’s another option but she doesn’t think the other island’s runway is big enough.”

I freeze up. “If she’s talking about La Perla, that was the only other option. There’s nothing else close. We’re over the wide-open ocean.”

He guides me toward the seats. “Then we have to go back.”

Suddenly, I’m jolted off my seat. Reflexively, I grab for the arm rests. “We can’t go back! That’s the worst thing in the world that can happen!”

As the plane bucks around Wolf helps me buckle up. “I assure you, it’s not the worst thing in the world that can happen. Landing in the Atlantic is far more of a problem.”
