26. Chapter Twenty-Five

Chapter Twenty-Five

Benjamin

My body was sated and a tad sore as we finished getting dressed.

We’d each taken a shower—separately—and Zar had proudly announced that he’d ordered us food that we could warm up.

I was excited to see what it was, buns, or perhaps some sweet bread or cake?

I could eat cake no matter the time of the day so I welcomed it nonetheless.

Chris opened the fridge and laughed. “You ordered us pizza?”

“Really?” I beamed, hurrying over to see what kinds. “I love pizza for breakfast!”

“I’m glad,” Zar said, looking rather pleased with himself.

“This one is definitely to my taste,” Chris announced, placing the first one on the kitchen island. It was a meat lover's pizza with all different kinds of meat on it and extra cheese.

I moved around him and peered into the other three boxes, pleased that two were my favorite picks whenever I ordered pizza for myself. One was a ham and pineapple pizza and the other was a simple cheese and pepperoni one. The last one seemed to be either vegetarian or just very leafy.

Our alpha had a very nice kitchen, with all new appliances and lots of space for all of us. My mood dampened a bit when I realized he’d likely made this kitchen with a family in mind. Lots of pups that needed to be fed and room enough for them to run around without bumping into one another.

“Baby?” Chris’ hand touching my chin, forcing my gaze to meet his worried one. His other hand was stroking just over his own heart. “What’s wrong? You want a slice of my pizza? I don’t mind sharing. In fact, you can have the whole thing.”

I laughed softly at that. My alpha was too cute. “I’m sorry,” I said, hating to dampen the mood again. “I just admired your kitchen—”

“Our,” he corrected, making me glare at him. He gestured for me to keep going.

“Our kitchen, and I realized you did it with a wife and family in mind, not us and… yeah. I guess my mind and heart still need to catch up.”

“I told you I don’t want those things. I thought I did. But I know that I want the two of you.” Chris’ words helped and with our pizzas warmed up, we sat at the dining table and chatted comfortably about what to do today.

As soon as the pizza was eaten, we lay on the couch. I was in the middle, my head in Zar’s lap and my feet in Chris’. We were watching some action movie when the doorbell rang. Chris groaned but got up to answer. Zar and I paused the movie to listen in, both of us too nosy not to.

A familiar female voice spoke and I had to suppress a groan of annoyance. “Alpha! We’re all so pleased that you’ve returned!” Stacy began, practically gushing his praises. “And you successfully dealt with the vampire who created all those damn rogues! We’re beyond pleased.”

“Thank you, Stacy,” Chris replied, sounding anything but pleased to see her. Not that she seemed to notice how unwanted she was.

“While I have you,” she continued, speaking like she hadn’t been the one seeking him out in his home. “My Mindy was wondering if you’d take her out to celebrate tonight? You know to let the pack know the danger has passed.”

“Why on earth would I take your daughter out?” Chris growled.

Stacy laughed a tad forcedly. “Mindy is a lovely girl! You would have an amazing time together, I’m sure of that!” Her tone was chipper and it grated on me.

Zar had had enough of listening and grabbed my hand, both of us coming to our mate’s rescue. Stacy sent us a displeased look when we stepped up at Chris’ sides. His hands found or waists, pulling us into him.

When Chris spoke, it was a low and dangerous thing. “I’ve already told you once that I’m mated. If you try to act coy again, I’ll banish you from the pack.” She gasped, but Chris ignored it. “You got that?”

She nodded. “I-I’m sorry, Alpha. I was just looking out for the pack. You must realize a vampire and a human aren't what our pack needs!”

“Then find another alpha, Stacy. Because I’m not picking anyone else. Ever.”

I slammed the door in her face, done with her and her meddling. I looked at Chris and asked, “I thought fated mates were a treasured thing, something everyone knows you can’t force or choose?”

He sighed. “Fated mates are rare amongst werewolves. We often pick our mates like humans do, choosing one we think suits us and our wishes for the future. Many fake being fated mates so others won’t object to them mating, which is why not everyone will believe it when you declare you’re fated to be together.

I think Stacy kept hoping you two weren’t really mine and that I could just change my mind somehow. ”

I shook my head in clear disgust. “Shouldn’t an alpha’s word be trusted? She basically admitted to not trusting your word, to your face.”

Zar grabbed Chris’ face and kissed him, clearly needing to stake his claim on our alpha after just the suggestion that he should go on a date with someone else.

“I have a strong urge to kill her,” he growled.

I laughed softly, even when I knew Zar wasn’t joking.

Stacy could very well die soon if she wasn’t behaving.

And to my surprise, I wouldn’t mind joining Zar in the killing.

Perhaps being bonded to these two men had changed more than just my body.

Huh. I would need to assess my morals later.

We found our way back to the couch, Zar and I slumping down and eager to watch the rest of the movie.

Chris however, still stood. “I’ll be back in a minute,” he said, leaving the living room.

I shared a look with Zar but he just shrugged.

They could sense each other’s feelings better than I could, so I took his calm as a good thing.

We snuggled together as we waited for Chris to return, and he did.

Not even two minutes had passed before he was kneeling in front of the couch, handing me a ring on a necklace.

“This was my grandmother's, you’ll wear it around your neck until we can get it resized,” Chris sort of ordered as he pushed the ring into my hand.

I eyed the ring with wonder. It was made of white gold with a huge emerald in the middle. It was more masculine in design, with the band wider than the diameter of the gemstone. The necklace it was attached to was a simple white gold one, woven together in a smooth pattern.

“Thank you,” I whispered, not even bothered by the less than romantic proposal. I couldn’t really deny him anyway, with us already being mated and all.

Chris smiled, clearly pleased by my reaction, then he looked to my right at Zar. “You’ll get one too.”

Zar chuckled warmly. “Oh, I will, will I?”

Chris hummed, still smiling.

“I want one that matches Benji’s, but one with a blue diamond, too. One for each of you,” Zar declared.

“Who’s the emerald and who’s the blue diamond?” I asked, still gazing adoringly at my new jewelry.

“Chris is emerald, of course,” Zar replied, like that made perfect sense. I eyed him with confusion and he explained, “Because of his green eyes…”

“Ah,” I said, grinning. “And the blue diamond because of my blue ones.”

Zar smiled. “Yes, one for each of the men I’ve claimed as mine.”

“Then I want one with a ruby as well, one for each ring finger,” I stated, loving the idea.

“Me too,” Chris said. “We’ll get them made once this shit is dealt with, deal?” Zar and I both nodded. “Then that’s a deal,” Chris declared before pushing his lips to mine, taking my breath away.

“I prefer to top,” Zar replied easily, as Chris asked him about the next full moon. We’d just eaten a late lunch, lazing on the couch and it was apparently time to get to know each other fully. Not that I minded knowing their preferences. It just felt so awkward talking about it.

“So, when I shift next time, you want to be elsewhere? I’ll respect it if you don’t wish to be near me when I’m in my werewolf form,” Chris said, sounding genuine.

Zar stared directly at our alpha as he replied, “If your werewolf wishes to claim me, he can. I will never reject you Chris, neither side of you, ever. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it because it’s you.”

Chris seemed at a loss for words, finally he swallowed and asked, “You’re sure? I would hate to experience it knowing you aren’t enjoying yourself.”

Zar smirked at him, “From the way Benji responded to your claim on him, I’d say I was in for a fun ride. I can be taken every once in a while, if your werewolf craves it. But when we’re like this,” he swirled his finger indicating us as we were. “Then I prefer to top only.”

Chris nodded and then they both looked at me. “What?” I asked, feeling a blush starting to form.

“Well, so far we’ve fucked you. Do you want to do the fucking, too?” Chris asked bluntly and yes there came the blush.

“I um, I prefer it as it is between us now,” I managed to say.

I hadn’t been close enough to any lover before, just quick hook ups where there was no chance of getting attached.

Having the conversation back then about what I liked had been much easier.

It was all about getting a quick release.

Doing this with my two mates felt so much more intense and personal.

“If that ever changes, let us know,” Zar said, patting my thigh. I sat between them. Each of us sitting with some distance as we had this talk.

I gave them a firm nod of my head. I didn’t expect to change my mind.

Maybe in the distant future I would like to try it out.

After all we had eternity if we weren’t killed.

But for now, I was more than satisfied with getting claimed.

Sex with them was unlike anything else and I already craved more of it.

“Now that we’re on the topic of what we want and so on,” I began, feeling nervous to even breach this subject. “Where do you see us living in the future?”
