Chapter 24 #2

“I thought I fell in love with someone like me,” I mumble.

“You better find out, or someone’s going to end up getting hurt.”

I hear Kellen moving around in the kitchen, so I tell my sister I’ll call her tomorrow morning. I think I need to clear things up tonight.

Walking down the hallway, I try to calm myself. It never occurred to me that this marriage issue might break us up. I don’t want that. I love him.

I stop just as I get to the doorway to the kitchen and watch him clean up the mess from his dinner. He really is everything I’ve ever dreamed of in a man. Handsome. Intelligent. Funny. Interesting. Sexy. Kellen King is the man of my fantasies and has been since the moment I met him.

Well, a few moments after I met him, but there’s no denying he charmed me from that very first night. Back then, he was a player, and I enjoyed the challenge.

God, why did that have to change?

He notices me leaning against the doorframe and smiles at me after washing his hands. “See anything you like?” he asks with a sexy chuckle.

“I was just thinking about when we met. Remember that place in the islands?”

Kellen walks over to me and slides his arms around my waist. “Remember it? I couldn’t forget meeting someone like you. I was crazy about you from that first night.”

Gazing up into his dark eyes, I can’t deny how much I love him. “Same with me. You were quite the charmer.”

He dips his head to kiss me full on the lips, making my stomach flutter. “I like to think I still am.”

Oh, he is all right. I swear Kellen King should have been a salesman. I wouldn’t be surprised if he could charm the birds out of the trees.

“Maybe a little,” I tease before twisting out of his hold to make my way down the hallway.

“A little?” he asks with more than a touch of hurt in his voice.

I took back and shrug. “Well, you know how it is. People get settled with one another, and that spark that was there the first time dims. It’s okay. It happens to everyone.”

Especially married people. I don’t bother to add that, but it’s happened to everyone I’ve ever seen say I do.

Kellen follows me, complaining that I’m intentionally underestimating his charm. “I don’t think that’s happened to us. Do you?”

Again, I shrug. “I don’t know. Has it?”

I love playing with him like this because I know he’s got an ego the size of Mount Rushmore and to hear that I might not find him as entirely charming as I did that first night always ruffles his feathers.

Of course, I do. The man drives me crazy, and usually he knows it.

This whole marriage thing must have him off his game tonight.

Before I reach our bedroom, I stop and wait for him. His expression says he’s downright insulted by what I’ve said.

He stops in front of me and cages me in with his body against the wall. “I can’t believe you aren’t as charmed by me now as you were that first night we met.”

Cradling his face in my hands, I kiss him softly on the lips. “Of course, I am, honey. You know I like to tease you. That’s all that was. Just teasing. Nothing more.”

For a moment, he looks relieved, but then something like determination fills his eyes. “I think it’s time I show you how charmed you are by me still.”

I can barely stifle a laugh when I say in the most serious voice I can muster, “Oh yeah? And just how do you intend on doing that?”

In a flash, he lifts me into his arms and pushes the bedroom door open to carry me to the bed. “Like this.”

Kellen lays me down gently and leans over to cover me with his body, pressing soft kisses to my neck. “I think it’s time I taught you a lesson, missy.”

Again, I have to fight the urge to laugh since I know he’s not seriously being stern. It’s just a little game we play. The use of missy, though, makes it very difficult to pretend to be intimidated.

“Oh, no. Not a lesson.”

He lifts his head from nuzzling my neck and smiles. “You know, I never get tired of this. So many people don’t like to be playful, but you’re always up for it, Salem. I love that.”

I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him long and deep. “And I love you, Kellen, especially for how fun you make our life together.”

“Fun, huh? You want fun? Now, you’re going to get it,” he says, playfully pretending like he’s upset with me.

We strip off one another’s clothes, eager to move past the teasing part to the sex part. Just like I’ve always adored how playful he is, I love how sexy Kellen always is. The two are intrinsically tied to one another.

When we’re naked, he kisses down my body, sucking on my nipples and giving them mischievous little bites every so often. He knows I love how that feels, so he never misses a chance to play with my breasts because it excites me.

Lifting his head just before he reaches my belly button, he smiles and says, “I was actually thinking of this very thing all day.”

He slides his finger through my wet folds and over my clit, sending waves of desire coursing through me. I want to joke that he probably didn’t get a lot of work done today, but I can’t speak because his fingers teasing my pussy make thinking of anything else near impossible.

The next thing I feel is his mouth between my legs and then his tongue flicking my clit. Jesus, he’s driving me nuts! Part of me wants to come from him going down on me, but another part thinks having his cock inside me would feel even better.

As if he can read my mind, he stops and looks up my body. Licking his lips, he says, “I’m going to make you come this way and then I’m going to fuck you and make you come again.”

Well, that solves that dilemma. Why choose when you can have both?

I simply smile and close my eyes to let myself enjoy the pure pleasure of him going down on me. It doesn’t take long to get me to orgasm. It never does this way, especially with Kellen. The man has a mouth like no other man I’ve ever met.

My legs stiffen, and my back arches when it finally happens. I let out a squeal that comes from somewhere deep inside me that’s needed this release all damn day.

Kellen lifts his head, and I see his lips shiny with my juices. “I never get tired of seeing you get off that way. You feel how hard I am? It’s from just that.”

His stiff cock presses against my calf, so I can tell he’s not merely saying that to be nice. He’s as ready to go as I am.

As he slides up my body, I revel in the feel of his muscular abs. Of all the parts of Kellen, I love that the most. The man works long hours, so I have no idea when he goes to the gym, but he’s still built like he was when I met him.

I trail my fingertips along the space between his hip bones and feel his skin flutter at my touch. I love that. It never fails to make me feel like I have the power to affect him like he affects me.

He squirms a little and kisses me, teasing my tongue with his.

I sense he’s not wanting to spend much time with foreplay now, which is fine with me, so I open my legs and tilt my hips so he slides inside me.

My eyelids flutter closed as he fills me up.

It’s the most sublime sensation I’ve ever felt, and he knows it.

Eager to come again, I lift my hips to meet his thrusts, and we quickly fall into a sensual rhythm.

This is how I love us best—open and wanting to make the other person happy.

Kellen can be many things, and some of them infuriate me, but when he’s not trying to be anyone but the man who wants me to be happy, I can’t think of a thing other than how much I adore him.

With each time he slides his cock into me, my body comes alive and I inch closer to that moment I want so badly. He grunts in my ear, sounding purely animalistic, and I swear it makes me even more excited. Never one for base emotions, something about how he sounds when we fuck drives me wild.

He comes first, filling me up until there’s nothing left inside him, but he keeps going, wanting me to feel as incredible as he does. A few thrusts more and I feel myself unravel inside, coming hard on his cock. It’s sublime and exhilarating unlike I’ve ever felt with any other man.

“Damn, that was unbelievable,” he groans before rolling off me.

When I can finally move a minute later, I roll over to kiss him. “You never disappoint, honey.”

He turns his head and smiles at me. “I aim to please.”

I rest my head on his chest and let out a heavy sigh. “You always do.”

This right here between us is what I worry we’d lose if we got married and had kids. People change when those happen. I don’t want that for Kellen and me.
