Chapter 32

No more shame between us. —Milo Warner

The whole room is silent and still. No one makes a move. Not even Bear.

A clock ticks in the background, counting the long minutes as we all wait for Noah.

Just when I’m wondering if he’s ever going to break the unanswered questions in the air, he pulls his phone from his pocket and starts moving his fingers across the screen.

“I just shared the recording with Scout,” he says quietly.

“If you’re sure you want to talk to my father, ma’am, I’d very much appreciate that.

” He swallows. “You’re right. I don’t trust that he can hear everything he needs to hear from me right now.

Maybe it will sound differently coming from you. ”

“Wonderful.” Ma nods. “Then Scout and I will get that recording into a safe space. Bear, let’s go for a walk, shall we? Scout, I assume you’re in favor of joining me and giving these two some time to catch up?”

“Heck yes,” he says eagerly. “Especially if we can pick up a sandwich somewhere. That strategy room I broke into only had ham salad left, can you believe it?” He charges out the door as he grins first at me, then at Noah. “Have fun, guys.”

At first Bear’s reluctant to leave with Ma, but no one says no to Lilah Warner. One quick snap of some fingers and two treats later, and Bear’s following Ma out of the room on her leash. She doesn’t even look behind at the two of us.

And then the room is quiet. Just me and Noah left.

“Gabe wanted to come too,” I finally say, more to break the silence than anything else. “But with the opening coming up, there was too much going on in Devon Falls. So he sent Scout instead.”

“Scout made a good Lucia,” Noah says absently. I’ve got no idea what the hell that means, and right now I don’t really care. I just smile as I swallow down as much of the anxiety and fear coursing through my system as I can.

Noah’s here. In front of me. Safe and unharmed, physically at least. You will find the change you seek. That change sits in front of us both now. If I can just keep Noah reaching for it with me, and believing he deserves it.

It’s going to be hard to keep alpha mode in a neutral position for this talk. But I’m ready to do my best.

“Noah,” I tell him. “First of all, I—”

I barely get the first few words out before Noah rushes across the room and leaps into my arms, wrapping his legs around me as he buries his head against my shoulder.

“I missed you so much,” he says, heaving the words out into the space between us.

“I missed you carrying me, I missed you holding me, I missed the way you look at me. I missed making you coffee in the morning, I missed walking Bear with you. I missed everything, Milo. I missed it all so, so much.”

“Damn,” I whisper as I sink into his scent, into the feeling of his softness around me.

“Fuck. Noah, I missed every single part of you.” I hold him tightly in my arms as I instinctively start moving toward the large bed in the center of the hotel room.

We fall back onto it together, and Noah takes hold of my shoulders.

“I want you so much,” he whispers. “More than I’ve wanted anything since I used to sit in bed all night wishing for my mother to stop using.”

I smile as I say exactly what I’m thinking. “Some part of me wanted you the second I stepped onto that elevator.”

Noah looks at me with watery eyes. “Me too,” he whispers.

And that’s when we both turn into animals in heat.

It feels like that anyway. We push and pull across the bed, both desperate to get closer to the other, grabbing for lost moments of touch, lost kisses. “I hate that button-up shirt you’re wearing,” I tell him as I categorize every single inch of his neck with my lips.

“I don’t like yours much either. Let’s get rid of them?”

I rip the buttons open on his shirt Superman-style, and Noah bursts out laughing. “Will Ezra be pissed?” I ask him.

“Definitely.” Noah grins.

Fuck. Ezra Asshole Morehouse is Noah’s brother. And Noah probably hasn’t even had two seconds to actually process that news.

At least it’s looking more and more like we’re going to have the rest of our lives to process that information together.

“Well,” I tell him as I lean up to kiss his neck. “Good thing I’m taking this shirt off you, then.”

The next few minutes are a blur of perfect tension.

He loses clothing. I lose clothing. I kiss every single part of him I can reach.

He kisses every single part of me he can reach.

Space and time cease to exist for us as I find my way around his body, assuring myself that every inch of him is fully intact and safe.

Eventually my hand finds its way to his tiny, perfect cock.

He’s half hard already, and I sigh as I cradle the skin of the head between my fingers.

“You’ve got no idea how much I worried I’d never see this, or you, again,” I tell Noah.

He whimpers slightly from where he’s writhing on the bed below me. “Milo,” he whispers.

I don’t need to wait for him to tell me what he needs, because I already know. I lean down, between his legs, and I take him all the way into my mouth.

He cries out as I trace my tongue around his base, down to his balls, while I tease his perineum with one hand.

“God, Milo,” Noah says, the words high and slightly dazed. “What I want right now… I’m afraid to ask for it. It feels so wrong. But you’re here, with me, and I never thought I’d see you again, and I…”

I pull off his dick with a pop. “Tell me what you want, baby,” I order him. “No more shame between us. You know I’ll always want to hear anything you have to tell me.” He bats his lashes slightly at me, and I can hear him take in a long, deep breath before he speaks.

“I want you to take me like you’re my alpha.”

I sit up on my knees and start stroking my cock. Is he asking for what I think he’s asking right now? “Chucks,” I tell him carefully. “I need you to be as specific as you can right now, because I just got you back, and like hell I’m going to do anything to hurt you. Now or ever.”

He purses his lips, and for a moment I think he’s going to tell me to forget he said anything, but then he sits up on his elbows and starts talking again.

“You coming to this hotel for me… you’re like my alpha wolf, you know? Always there to rescue me. You just rescued me from the rival evil werewolf. You know what would happen next in one of those books we’ve talked about.”

I burst out laughing. “Is that what I just did? Rescued you from the rival pack?”

He nods. “You’re all big and huge and impressive and I can’t help it. I just want you to take what you want from me. All of it.” He licks his lips. “In my books, this is when the alpha wolf would take the omega wolf he rescued and breed him.”

Fuck. My dick’s getting harder with every word he says.

Making a full break from Ezra has definitely lifted Noah’s confidence in unexpected ways, and I’m more than here for this shift in his self-assurance.

“You want me to breed you, Omega?” I keep stroking myself with one hand as I draw the first two fingers of the other down across his stomach, past his hip bones, and let them rest on his right thigh. “You think you’re ready for that?”

He licks his lips. “Breed me, Alpha. You rescued me. Now take what’s yours.”

I drop down so that I’m kneeling on all fours over him. “If we’re doing this,” I tell him. “We’re doing it safely. Stoplight colors, as usual, okay? Green if things are a go, yellow tells me to slow down, red means stop right now. You got it, Chucks?”

“Green,” he blurts out. “Green, green, green.”

I laugh before I press down to steal a long, hard kiss from him. “Okay,” I tell him when I finally end the kiss. “I need to find some supplies. You’ll be there, exactly like that, when I come back. You understand me, Omega?”

Noah’s eyes widen. “Yes, Alpha,” he says.

Fuck. Just hearing him say that word gets my dick so hard it hurts. What the hell is it with kink? Why do some things get us turned on the way they do? Maybe I’ll never know. Maybe I don’t even give a damn right now.

I charge toward the bathroom and rummage through my shaving kit until I find what I’m looking for.

I grab the small bottle of travel lube I’ve always kept there—hey, I like to be prepared for anything—and some condoms. I can hear Noah shifting slightly on the bed. “No moving,” I call back into the room.

He’s gone still again when I get back to the edge of the bed. Time to give my little omega wolf everything he’s asked for.
