Chapter 19
Now that there’s some distance between me and the baking fiasco, I’m able to smile about the big cookie failure while I serve bakery-bought treats to the library volunteers. The bakery cookies are actually much better looking and tasting than mine would have ever been, anyway.
When I’m back in my office after the luncheon, some sort of sixth sense kicks in, and I look up at my doorway moments before two dark figures appear there.
I can’t overestimate how much I love books, but Jasper and Felix are the best things I’ve ever seen inside this building.
“What are you doing here?”
“We brought this for you.” Felix steps in, holding out a cup from a nearby cafe.
“What’s the occasion?” I take the cup and breathe in the aromas of rich coffee and sweet chocolate.
He shrugs. “Just thought it would be something nice to do.”
“Well, thank you. This will be perfect for getting me through an afternoon slump.”
Both men are inside my office now, taking in the surroundings, which are sparse, since I share the space with another librarian, and am more often out and about than sitting in here.
“Get any good books in lately?” Felix asks.
His question takes me by surprise, and I immediately scold myself. Just because he’s incredibly hot and makes money by dancing on stage with hardly any clothes on doesn’t mean he can’t also enjoy reading. I should know better than to fall prey to stereotypes.
The thought of Felix reading is really hot, actually. The thought of Felix merely standing still is hot too, but that’s beside the point.
“I usually read ebooks, but sometimes I enjoy the warm perfume of a well-aged library book.” Leave it to him to make reading sound sensual.
“What genres do you enjoy?”
“Usually science fiction, dystopian novels, sometimes nonfiction.” I’m out from behind my desk now, and Felix leans in next to my ear to whisper, “Ever read monster erotica? That’s some wild stuff.”
I have, in fact, sampled it, but I don’t dare admit it right now.
“Want to follow me? I’ll show you some things.”
“Will you?” Jasper murmurs suggestively, as he and Felix let me lead them out of the office.
I take them around to the appropriate aisles and suggest some of my favorite books and some I’ve heard a lot of good things about.
“How about you?” I ask Jasper. “Do you like to read, too?” When he nods, I inquire about what types of books he likes, and he says, “Same as Felix, with double the monster erotica.”
He’s teasing—I think—and I cover my mouth to stifle a laugh.
Each of them selects a couple of titles, so I lead them toward the checkout desk, but they have other ideas. As we’re passing the row of study rooms, Jasper pulls me into one, closes the door, then the two of them surround me.
“What are you doing?”
“This is a study space, right?” Jasper asks. When I nod, he says, “We’re here to study the sexy librarian.”
Their fingers and mouths are on me already, making my head fuzzy.
“But … people can see us.” One wall of the space is a huge glass window; the study rooms only offer quiet, not privacy.
But they’ve huddled me into the front corner, where there’s a little cover, and their bodies are shielding me from view.
“I can’t get caught fooling around in here,” I tell them.
Felix pulls his mouth away from mine long enough to give me a devilish look. “Oh, you want to fool around?”
They’re both kissing me while their hands are doing some of the studying they promised. One of them slides a hand over my bottom, while the other teases fingers under my blouse.
“We can’t do this here.”
Jasper kisses my neck. “You let us know when and where. We’ll be ready.”
Oh, I’m so ready, too. Obviously not here, and not this moment, but I’m not sure how much longer I can hold out.
The sweet relief I felt from the orgasm the Frost brothers gave me last night didn’t last long.
The Frost brothers. I feel so guilty thinking about them right now, while the Winter brothers are making me feel things. I’m not cut out for dating multiple men. Two together is fine—wonderful, actually. Two pairs separately is some kind of exquisite torture.
After a few more kisses, Jasper and Felix pull away, then open the door, leaving me leaning against the wall, dazed.
“We’ll check ourselves out,” Felix says. “See you at the park on Saturday.”
After long parting glances, they’re gone. I want to run after them, but I hold myself back.
