“I’m good with whatever you make. I’m hungry as hell.”

“Okay, I’m going see what you have in the kitchen.”

Alva’s robe was thrown across the chair but she didn’t bother putting it on.

She felt Rondell’s eyes on her the entire time as she grabbed her phone and prepared to exit the room.

She was all smiles when she opened the door and stepped out of the bedroom.

She almost lost her bladder and fainted when she heard a male’s voice that didn’t belong to her man.

“What the entire fuck is that?” Montrell questioned out loud when he saw his brother’s naked girlfriend walk out of the room. He had to take a piss and he was happy that he did it before he saw her anorexic looking ass in her birthday suit.

“Ahhhhh! OMG!” Alva screamed to the top of her lungs as she hurriedly turned around and tried to rush back into the room.

She turned too fast and accidentally fell, giving him an unwanted glimpse of the back of her.

It wasn’t that he was trying to look, but the shit happened so fast that it took them both by surprise.

“Ugh!” Montrell hurriedly turned his head in disgust and walked away.

“What’s wrong? What happened?” Rondell grabbed the gun that he kept in his nightstand, ready to send a nigga back to his maker if he had to.

“This is so embarrassing. What is he doing here?” Alva was on the verge of tears as she rushed into the connected bathroom.

Rondell already knew who she was talking about. He put his gun away and walked out of the room in search of his brother. He found Montrell sprawled out on his sofa with the covers over his head.

“I thought you said you was staying by mama and pappy.” Rondell sat on the arm of the sofa awaiting a reply.

“Man, Tez and Bria are on vacation, so all their kids are over there. I could have slept on the sofa, but Mama was trippin’ and Pappy scary ass is soft. This shit is getting old though, bro. I really gotta get it together. I ain’t never felt this homeless before but the shit don’t feel good.”

Montrell sat up as he talked to his twin.

He was tired of making stupid moves, but that’s all that he seemed to do lately.

Rondell was over the night life and he was beginning to see exactly how he felt.

Tru had been on his mind a lot lately and he loved her too much to lose her to another man.

She still let him come to the house to get clothes but he had a lot of stuff in the trunk of his car too.

That was no way to live and it was taking a toll on him.

“You say that every other week but keep doing the same dumb shit.”

“I know, bro, but I’m ‘bout to put some action behind my words. This was my last weekend of clubbing. It’s the same shit every day, so it ain’t like I’m missing out on nothing. I’m trying to get my girl back.”

“I hope you do. Tru is good people.”

“Yeah, I know. But, what’s up with you?”

“What you mean? Ain’t shit up with me.”

“You sure about that? From the womb to the tomb, nigga. Ain’t no judgment over here. You can tell me anything.”

“The fuck is you even on right now, bro!” Rondell was getting impatient, waiting for his brother to get to the point.

“I think Alva’s real name is Alvin.”

“What!” Rondell looked at him like he was crazy.

“Man, ain’t no way in hell makeup and a wig can do all that. That’s a nigga.”

“Shut the fuck up, bruh,” Rondell fussed, right as Alva came storming out of the room. She was fully dressed with her overnight bag draped across her arm. She’d reapplied her makeup and put her wig back on.

“Told you,” Montrell laughed as he laid back down. Alva looked like an entirely different person and it was creepy to see. He had never seen her in her natural state before and he was good if he never had to see it again.

“I can’t take this shit no more. I’m leaving.” Alva didn’t know if she would ever be able to look at her man’s twin brother the same again. She was mortified and she was sure that she was gonna be the brunt of Montrell’s jokes for a while.

“Wait, Alva, hold up a minute.”

She wanted to jump for joy when Rondell stopped her from leaving. Maybe he was finally ready to put her first for once. He rushed into the room and came back out with a tank and a pair of sweatpants on. He opened the door for her, and she was confused.

“What are you doing?” She looked at him skeptically.

“I’m walking you to your car.” Rondell’s face held no emotion. Montrell fell out laughing and had to stop himself from falling off of the sofa. Alva walked out of the house, and Rondell followed her.

“Wow, as if I wasn’t already humiliated enough. You need to make some serious decisions, Rondell. Your brother already lost his girl and it seems as if he won’t be satisfied until you lose yours too.”

“Real shit, I’m really getting tired of having this same argument with you all the time. Right, wrong, or indifferent, that’s my brother. He’s more than just my brother; he’s my identical twin. We both fuck up sometimes, but that’s life.

Don’t break your heart by asking me to choose because you won’t like the choice that I make.”

“As my man, I shouldn’t even have to ask you to choose. The decision should be easy.”

“It is and it’s gon’ always be my brother. You be cool.” Rondell didn’t even bother waiting for her to get to her car.

She gasped in shock when he left her standing there.

She heard the front door to his apartment slam at the same time as the tears of regret started flowing.

Although Montrell annoyed her more often than not, her dislike for him wasn’t worth losing her man.

Alva knew that she could be a nag sometimes but she didn’t mean any harm.

She just wanted Rondell to show her the same love that she always showed him.

She defended him to her parents, but he couldn’t even put his brother in check for her.

Still, Alva wasn’t trying to push him away.

She was gonna give him a few hours to calm down before she called to apologize.

“You good, bruh?” Montrell saw the change in his brother’s demeanor as soon as he came back inside.

“I’m straight. You can get your shit out the car and crash here for a while. At least until you and Tru figure it out.”

“I appreciate it, bro, but I’m good. I’m not trying to be living up under the same roof as Alva ole Young Thug looking ass.”

“Man, that’s a wrap on that.” Rondell waved him off.

“Damn, my bad twin. I wasn’t trying to fuck up nothing for you.”

“I’m good, bro. That was a long time coming. Shit ain’t been right with us for a minute. I should have been moved on.”

“Yeah, nigga, and I know just who you’re trying to move on with. I be paying attention to how you be looking at Bama,” Montrell laughed while speaking of Clover’s cousin, Kimber. He called her Alabama, Bama for short, due to her deep southern accent.

She and Tru took a liking to one another and had been hanging out a lot.

Tru had friends, but they liked the streets too much.

She went out occasionally but she was more of a homebody.

Tru was the type who would bypass a party to stay home and binge-watch her favorite tv shows.

She wasn’t a fan of large crowds but she made exceptions for certain events.

“Sexy slim act like she be scared to talk to a nigga. She be hitting me with them one-word ass answers.”

“You gon’ really get your chance to get at her now.”

“How? What’s happening like that?”

“Tez just hired her to be the new receptionist.”

“That nigga been saying he’s getting a new receptionists for months. Who told you that?”

“He did. Cash told him that she was looking for a job while she’s in school, and he hired her. He said she answered the phone a few times when she was there hanging with Tru. Shit, she might as well get paid for it.”

Tez couldn’t seem to keep a receptionist for nothing.

A lot of females had niggas who weren’t too fond of them working around so many men.

Two of his previous receptionists got pregnant and never came back after having their babies.

A few others found better paying jobs, and he understood that.

Kimber was in school so, if she did start working there, it would probably only be until after she graduated.

“Yeah, boy, it’s up now. She bout to get tired of me. She ain’t gon’ have no choice but to fuck with me.” Rondell was excited as he rubbed his hands together. He walked off to his bedroom and Montrell followed him, hoping to take a hot shower.

“Where you going?” Montrell asked when he saw his brother looking for something to wear.

“I’m going eat the food that you’re about to treat me to. Alva was about to cook until you pissed her off.”

“It’s better to be pissed off then pissed on. You don’t need no grown ass man bringing you breakfast in bed anyway. Let me hop in the shower and I gotchu’, bae.”

Both men laughed as they freshened up and headed out to grab something to eat.

Hank smiled as he pulled his middle son into a manly hug.

A month had passed since Monty started his apprenticeship with Tez, and he had already gotten three of the certifications that he needed.

He went there seven days a week faithfully unless he had a few appointments of his own.

Tez took off for a few days to spend some alone time with his wife, so Monty was free.

Hank decided to throw some steaks and other meats on the grill on the patio of his and Denny’s townhouse to celebrate his son’s accomplishments.

Monty seemed to finally have his head on straight and that was all that he and his wife ever wanted.

He was always happy when he got a chance to spend time with all three of his boys.

They all had different schedules, so it wasn’t always possible.

“I’m proud of you, boy. You already know your shop ‘bout to be fire as fuck whenever you’re ready for it.” Hank kissed the top of his son’s head, even though he hated when he did so.

“Shit, I’m ready for that bitch now. I just don’t know what area I want it in.” Monty was excited about the possibility of having his own shop.

“Location is key, bro. Building you a shop is nothing. Building it in the right spot is what matters most,” Dash said.

“That’s what you’re good at, bruh. I can build anything with my eyes closed. I just don’t know nothing about all that location and zoning shit.”
