The church erupted in thunderous applause when Iva and Monty jumped over the broom.
They walked out of the church with their wedding party following behind them.
Kardi, who was ten years old now, pulled their daughter, Diamond, down the aisle behind her in the decorated wagon.
She was nine months old and didn’t know what was going on.
Diamond was smiling and clapping right along with everyone else.
Iva and Monty were supposed to get married over a year ago, but they postponed when they learned that she was pregnant. They had already moved into their home, but she wanted her day to be special. Iva wanted to lose her baby weight so that she could look good in her dress.
“Mrs. Hankerson times four now bitches!” Diva yelled once they got to the reception.
“That part!” Iva replied as she held up her ring finger.
“One of you heifers better bring me another grandson. Bubba is tired of being around all these girls,” she replied, speaking of Dash and Clover’s three-year-old son.
“Diva, please, Bubba is barely ever home.” Clover rolled her eyes. Her son was spoiled behind Dash and Hank but his father came second to his grandpa.
“I’m good on kids. Diamond almost ripped me apart.” Iva downed her glass of champagne.
“Keep drinking like that and you won’t have a choice,” Clover joked.
After taking a bunch of pictures, Iva and Monty walked around with their daughter greeting their guests. Everybody hit the dance floor soon after and their reception looked like a club.
Monty had finally opened his tattoo shop and had three men working under him.
He, just like his brothers, still worked with Hank and helped him open another location last year.
Iva had made some changes too and she now owned and operated a beauty salon.
She still only did locs but she had two beauticians and a nail tech in her shop.
Sadly, Caprice ended up getting a ten-year sentence.
The prison made an example out of her and two other deputies.
Clover was shocked when she and Dash took their son to the clinic and saw Sade working there.
She was a nurse and seemed to be doing okay for herself.
There were no hard feelings between the two of them.
She spoke to Clover, and Clover returned the greeting.
The last Clover heard, Trudy had been disbarred and now lived in some part of Virginia.
Her husband had remarried and their old house was sold.
Thankfully, her daughters had a change of heart and allowed her to be a part of her grandchildren’s lives again.
She saw her in the mall a while ago and she looked like she’d aged a lot.
“Bitch, look at Kim!”
Iva was shocked to see Kim on the dance floor backing her ass up into Rondell. They lived together now, so all that shyness was gone. Her and Tru were still best friends, but she and Montrell had a son now. Kim had just graduated, so kids weren’t on her mind just yet.
“She’ll be pregnant in a few weeks.” Clover laughed right as Dash walked over carrying their son.
“His bad ass stuck his hand in the cake. Can’t take this lil nigga nowhere,” Dash fussed. He sat down and cleaned their son’s hands and face with some wipes.
“Act like you got some sense, Bubba.” Clover rolled her eyes.
Kardi was still the sweetest, but the same couldn’t be said for their second born. He was mischievous and taking your eyes off of him for a minute was a mistake. Dot walked over and handed Dash a wet towel to get him right.
“His lil bad ass is getting spanked tonight,” Dot threatened, as he laughed like it was a joke.
“The fuck they waiting on to the cut the cake. He’s tired of waiting.” Hank took his grandson’s side just like always.
“Come on, Hank, bruh. They cut the cake whenever they want to. He know better.” Dash frowned, as Hank grabbed Bubba and walked back towards the cake. Clover grabbed her husband’s hand and pulled him back to the dance floor.
“Stop letting Hank and Bubba stress you out,” Clover laughed.
“That’s what I get for praying so hard for a boy.” Dash wrapped his arms around Cover’s waist as they swayed to the beat.
It had been a long time coming, but he and his brothers were finally happy.
They married their soulmates and, for once, life was good.
Dash and Clover were young, so they made a lot of mistakes along the way.
But he promised God that he would never do anything to hurt her again, and that was a promise that he kept.
He was given another chance and he didn’t take it for granted.
Although he called her Lucky, he knew that luck had nothing to do with it.
He was blessed and he would always and forever be grateful for his four leaf clover.
