Chapter 11 Long Time No See

Maybe I'd drunk too much. My brain was drunk too.

I actually got into Ji Yanli's car.

A faint woody scent hung in the car.

The driver was a handsome young man. He glanced at me in the rearview mirror, curiosity in his eyes.

Ji Yanli sat beside me, one seat apart.

Under the dim light, I couldn't see his face clearly.

"Where do you live?"

He spoke, his voice flat, with no emotion I could hear.

"Oh, the entrance of Huafu Hotel is fine."

I actually rented in the old, rundown compound behind that hotel.

Mixed crowd, dirty and messy. Hard for a car to get in.

The young driver heard that and typed the address into the car GPS like he did it every day.

A mechanical woman's voice rang out at once: "Starting navigation. Total trip about..."

Then the car fell into complete silence.

"Uh... long time no see."

I tried to make conversation.

Ji Yanli didn't pick it up. I felt awkward.

I figured my brain was really sick, getting into his car for no reason.

The GPS voice became the only background sound.

He turned his head slightly, watching the rush of lights flying past the window.

Broken points of light reflected on the lenses of his Gold-Rimmed Glasses.

I glanced once and got dizzy.

Oh. No. I was carsick.

"Hey... just around the corner and we're there. Just drop me.

"I... I'm a bit carsick."
