Chapter 15 Change and Leave

Fine. So I was the junk he'd been forced to pick up.

I drew a deep breath and swallowed the cursing that had climbed to my throat.

No point getting mad at this guy.

He was now Ji Yanli high above. I was just junk whose clothes had been found disgusting.

"Fine. Ji Yanli is right. I dirtied your place."

I pulled on a smile that didn't reach my eyes. I didn't bother looking for shoes. I stepped barefoot onto the cold floor.

I dragged that lame leg toward the door.

"Stop."

I reached the doorway, and Ji Yanli came out of the bedroom and called me.

"What?

"You threw out my clothes and now I can't leave?"

The next second he gave a cold snort, walked to the sofa, and tossed over a paper bag without much gentleness.

I caught it. Inside was a neatly folded set of brand-new casual clothes.

From the fabric and cut alone, I could tell they weren't cheap.

At the bottom was also a pair of brand-new soft-soled leather shoes.

"Take off those pajamas.

"Put these on, then leave."

Ji Yanli's voice still had no warmth.

I held the paper bag. My fingers tightened.

This was pure cleanliness, I figured.

It felt like he didn't even want something he'd touched left on someone like me.

I clenched my teeth and squeezed two words through them. "Thanks."

Then I held the paper bag, said nothing, turned, and walked into the bathroom next door.
