Chapter 39 Don’t You Dare Run

After I finished speaking, I bent down, picked up the phone that had already gone dark, and turned to rush for the door.

Favor, grudges, that bullshit five hundred thousand—I didn't want any of it.

I just wanted to leave this place.

But the moment my fingers touched the icy doorknob, a huge force slammed into me from behind.

Ji Yanli locked onto me from the back like a beast that had lost control.

His arms clamped around my waist like iron hoops, tight enough it felt like he might snap my bones.

"Trying to run?"

Madness and hate came through his clenched voice.

"Qin Ye, don't you even think about running!"

"Let go of me, Ji Yanli, you're fucking crazy!"

I struggled hard, driving my elbow back, but he only locked me tighter against his chest.

"I am crazy!"

He growled, his voice hoarse.

"You're the one who made me like this.

"You're the one who bent me.

"And now you want to dust off your ass and walk away? Dream on!"

I almost laughed from anger, cursing while I struggled.

"You're fucking talking shit! I bent you?

"Ji Yanli, do you even talk sense?"

"Sense?"

He slammed me down hard onto the soft bed behind us.

"Is there any sense to talk with you?"

Before the words even settled, Ji Yanli yanked open the nightstand, pulled out a leather strap I didn't even know what it was for, and bound my hands together.
