Chapter 53 I Hate You

When the heat receded, the room held only our breathing, still violent, not yet settled.

He did not let me go. He buried his head against my chest.

Warm liquid spread over my skin.

That Little Wolf Cub who had once been beaten half to death and still would not cry, cried.

He said, "Qin Ye, I hate you to death."

His words came out in a jumble.

He said that eight years ago, after he fought with me, he applied to go abroad.

By the time he got news of me again, two or three years had already passed.

The person who told him said the police had been chasing me, and I had gone off a cliff with the car. Dead.

He really had believed I was dead.

He said a huge regret swallowed him in an instant.

He regretted leaving so absolutely that night. He regretted those words that cut.

All these years, he had been living inside that blame.

Until he suddenly saw me in the company meeting room.

He said that in that moment, a storm tore through him.

He thought it was a hallucination from missing me too much.

He used every resource he had to investigate, and only then pieced together the truth of what I had gone through these years.

I had not died in the fall. I had been badly hurt and sent to prison. Eight years wasted.

He wanted to get close, but regret and blame kept twisting together.
