Chapter 10
Honesty Bailey
“Riding to the music, this is how we do it all night. Breezing down the freeway, just me and my baby, in our ride. Just me and my boss, no worries at all; listening to Aston Martin Music, Music…” I belted the lyrics to one of my favorite throwbacks as if I had written them myself and Chrisette Michelle was singing my shit instead of the other way around.
“Sing that shit, ma.” Fame called out over the sound of the loud music and the wind whipping around us; as we sped down the freeway with the top down.
Yep, it was a new day and I was still with Fame.
I wasn’t even going out of the way to act like he was annoying me or anything, anymore.
At this point, I was going with the flow, just until Des returned of course.
After getting the reminder of just why I was here, I knew it was more important than ever to put some distance between he and I, and if I didn’t do it soon, it would be a challenge that would be hard to accomplish.
The Fame that was on paper was nothing like the man who spent the night telling me his business plans, dreams and goals.
I knew before meeting him that Fame was educated and not just some dumb thug, but hearing him passionately speak last night, put that all into perspective.
I had to stop myself from calling Des a stupid bitch the entire time because she was really trying to make this man stick to “what he was good at” as if his future wasn’t well thought out and planned.
Small minded people could never understand the need for more, so it was on trend for her ass.
Though I enjoyed the fact that he let me in his world, I hated the shit, at the same time.
He thought he was sharing intimate plans with someone he could trust and the whole time, I was here to ensure they never came to fruition.
I could barely stomach the thought. I watched this man’s face light up with excitement as he spoke.
At one point, his eyes were closed as he described the setup and decor of one of his future businesses and my eyes hungrily studied his face.
His smooth chocolate skin was clear and moisturized and I knew females that would be pissed at how it held not a single blemish, scar or imperfection.
If I didn’t know what I knew about him, I would swear he was some rugged ass model type.
His perfectly white teeth that he sometimes covered with grills, further drove that point.
Then just like a fake chef sprinkling raw parsley before presenting their meal, God upped the score and gave this man the deepest set of dimples. Shit wasn’t even fair.
“Top down right here is where she wanna be. As my goals unfold right in front of me. Every time we fuck her soul takes a hold of me. Addicted like Pookie that pussy be controlling me…” Fame pulled my attention back to the present as he rapped along with Rick Ross and gripped my exposed thigh.
I felt myself shiver a bit from excitement of the scene in front of me.
I always found shit like men being men sexy as hell, so the way he was effortlessly handling the car, showing me attention all while looking like he belonged in the Aston Martin Music video was doing some things to me.
It honestly wouldn’t have taken much for him to excite me after last night though.
We shared a bed but he respected my mind when I said we weren’t fucking.
That however, did not stop that man from sleeping naked and making sure I slept on top of h the entire night.
Long story short, I got no sleep as his dick jumped against fat ma the entire night, letting me know just what I could get if I wasn’t being such a scary ass hoe.
“Okay, for real Fame, where are we going?” I questioned, turning the radio down as the song ended.
“Didn’t I tell you just…” he started before I cut him off.
“Don’t tell me just ride, again. My anxiety is too bad to not know what’s next and I don’t even know if what I’m wearing is appropriate.
” I looked down at the shorts that left little to the imagination.
I had no idea my thighs would eat them up the way they had and after trying them on, I wanted to take them back off but Fame’s ass begged me not to.
“Shit, you look perfect to me.” He voiced.
“That’s only because these damn shorts using every piece of thread to contain my ass.” I playfully rolled my eyes.
“Shit yeah, that my favorite part.” He nodded with a smile while taking an exit.
“Yo freaky ass. Where are we going?” I repeated as we came to a light. He didn’t initially answer and instead he intensely looked me in my eyes.
“Can I trust you, Mocha?” I felt like he could see my heart beating through my shirt at the sound of that question.
Where was this going? Was my cover blown?
Was he about to show me the animal that they said he was?
“Shit baby girl, I don’t like that pause.
It’s a simple question but the silence loud as hell.
” He chuckled and I awkwardly joined in.
“Shit, I was trying to see where that line of questioning was going. I didn’t want to say yeah I trusted you and then you show me a dead body or something.” I joked to clear the air. Hell, after thinking of what I said, I realized there could have been some truth in that joke too.
“Now what would make you think I had a dead body to show you?” He questioned with a straight face. “What the fuck has Des been telling you?” My heart fell to my ass.
“Huh? No, I don’t… I was just… It was a joke. She’s never…” I couldn’t formulate a sentence at this point.
“Girl, your black was started turning red. I’m joking with ya, ma.
Loosen up. Besides, even if I allegedly knew anything about a dead body, I wouldn’t know where to find it after it took its last breath.
You get people for shit like that. You get good people and that body is gone like it never existed.
But, that’s if you into that type of shit.
Now back to my question, can I trust you?
” Now how the hell was I supposed to focus after what he had just said.
Shaking the shock off, I quickly nodded.
“With your life.” I simply responded.
“Word? A nigga’s life is safe in your hands?” He intensely looked my way again, for a brief second before looking back at the road.
“Yep. Unless Des catch us together, then you’re own your own. That crazy bitch look like the type to kill me, you and then herself.” I joked but he didn’t laugh. Instead he looked at me skeptically.
“Shit you really don’t know Des, huh? She gon for sure try to kill your ass but she ain’t killing me cause she has to prove she’s the last woman standing and she damn sure ain’t killing herself.
That muthafucka loves herself more than Skin, Bones and my mama love crack, combined.
” We both fell out laughing at that before he pulled into the parking lot of a building.
I couldn’t make out what it was because the sign was covered and the windows were all blocked.
“What’s this? It’s not even open.” I pointed out as I looked around.
“Shit, I know that.” He responded before lifting the top, turning off the car and climbing out. As he walked around to open my door, I inhaled the smell of his Carolina Herrera Bad Boy Cobalt Blue elixir that lingered behind.
“Thank you.” I spoke as he helped me from the car. Instead of releasing my hand, he intertwined our fingers and led me to the building. When he banged on the door I looked at him like he was crazy until it swung open.
“Who the fuck… Oh shit, Fame you out here banging like you the fucking police.” A big red ass man barked while holding an AK-47. “What’s up beautiful, I’ve seen to around but we haven’t met. My name is Gutta but you can call me…”
“Not shit. She can’t call you shit. And if you let that nigga kiss your hand with them crusty ass lips imma whip his ass and whip your ass 2-3 business seconds behind his.
” Fame warned as Gutta called hisself bringing my free hand to his mouth.
We reacted at the same time with me snatching my hand back and him damn near throwing it.
“Damn, I ain’t know this was you. No disrespect.” Gutta chuckled lifting his free hand as if to surrender.
“Oh, I’m not his. You probably know his girlfriend, Desiree. She goes by Des. Yeah, that’s him, so don’t let him block shit this way.” I countered.
“Oh shit, this new? Yeah, you gon be singing a different tune later. Boss man don’t miss. Y’all come on, I need to piss.” Gutta swing the door further open to allow us entrance and my damn mouth fell open. I was too amazed to even check him about the whole Fame not missing comment.
“Fame, this is coming along nice as hell! I see the vision!” I acknowledged as a tapped my thumb and index finger together. “Now whose black ass is blushing?”
“Man, go play with something safe. Ain’t nobody blushing.” He waved me off.
“Shit, then your skin overheating cause you turning red like me.” Gutta added making me fall out.
“Gutta I would hate for you to lose your job when you have three babies coming any day now.” Fame said, making me looking at Gutta in disgust.
“Not you have triplets on the way and was tryna spit game at me.”
“Who said anything about triplets?” Gutta questioned with a smile. I looked back at Fame who was shaking his head and smirking.
“Fame said you have three babies coming any day now. So, that’s triplets, right?” I questioned.
“Hell nah. Three different women, three different babies.” He explained.
“And they all due at the same damn time?” I was floored.
“Shit, they all conceived at the same damn time. I wanna find the bitch who lied and said what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas and break my foot off in their ass.” Gutta barked.
“Nobody told you get on your Hugh Hefner shit and try to make all your jump offs play with sharing your ass nigga. You couldn’t have just brought one with ya out there?” Fame spoke.
“Wait what!?” My mouth was wide open at this point. “They went for that shit and you really knocked them all up?”
“I was excited they went for the shot and dropped my guards. First time touching any of them raw and they all get knocked the fuck up. I’m tying my tubes after this though.” His ass walked away too fast for me to see if he was joking or really thought he had tubes to tie.
“Did that really happen?” I questioned.
“Hell yeah. Gutta a lot of things but he ain’t no liar.
He really fitna be a first, second and third time daddy at the same time.
Wait til you find out they all just got a house together and he’s not in a relationship with none of their asses.
” Fame’s facial expression was too serious for this to be a joke but I refused to believe anyone would go for that shit, yet along three females.
“Are they desperate or something?” I asked.
“No disrespect but all three of them
pressure. That nigga just a master at reeling them in and they fall in love. Shit be one sided as hell but that’s his life.”
“I’m telling you right the fuck now, you better stick to the women y’all used to, because I ain’t going for nothing! You’ll never have me and Des as sister wives, knocked up and sitting at home naked waiting for you to come drop dick in us and then be on to the next one.” I argued.
“Man, look around and tell me what the hell you really think about this spot. The people working on it about to stop by if you have a suggestion for them.” He said surprising me with the fact that he wanted my opinion.
“Oh, you gon’ regret telling me that. I need a notebook so I don’t miss shit.
They gotta know Fame ain’t never half stepping, this shit gon be top tier!
!” I could barely contain my excitement for him.
Seeing some action behind all the plans he had was a welcomed surprise that made me look at him in a different light.
Before I could walk away, he stopped me in my tracks by pulling me into his chest.
“And don’t ever compare me to no nigga, even if we cool, I’m my own man.
I would never want you and Des waiting on shit together.
As a matter of fact, Des gotta move around quicker than I planned because I just decided that I’m too old for the games and I’m intentionally pursuing you.
Something about envisioning you at home, pregnant and ready to take this dick got me ready to skip a few steps and lock some shit down.
That’s a conversation for later though, let’s handle this business.
” If I wasn’t already breathless from his words, the kiss he slid in would have for sure done the trick.
I wanted to say something. At least let him know that this wasn’t that and we needed to stay away from each other.
That’s what I wanted and needed to say, but I couldn’t hear rationale thinking over all the fluttering the butterflies in my belly were doing.
As I walked off, I tried to remember a time I had ever felt this way and I couldn’t.
I was never one to quickly fall, but here I was stumbling around like a baby deer, when I was supposed to be handing this man’s life over to the feds all wrapped in a pretty bow.
Maybe I needed to call my twin back and demand that she ends her vacation before I ruined her career and my life, by falling for the damn assignment.
