Epilogue
Story
“Boo, what’chu in here crying for.” Halo walked in our bedroom and sat next to me on my vanity chair.
“Tonight is your big night. You’ve waited a long time for this, and you must show up with a huge fiancé whose nose has spread and ankles look like croissants.” I broke down crying after I told him.
I looked at Halo in the mirror, and he had his head turned laughing.
“Glad you think it’s funny!!”
He wrapped his arms around me and kissed the side of my neck.
His hands rubbed my new six-month-old belly.
These months have moved fast, and my life was so different.
The first two weeks of us being back together.
Halo and I did a road trip to Arizona so he could meet the rest of my family in person.
We stayed for a week, and they got along very well. My dad had a million questions for Halo about how he planned to treat me this time. Halo stood strong and answered every single one. Jesse and Pixie had a few of their own and my mama as well.
By the end of the first day Halo won them over. I showed him where I went to school with and we went to The Grand Canyon. Once we returned to Michigan Halo paid for me to break my lease and I moved in with him. I found out I was pregnant a week later and we were ecstatic.
There was no plan on how we would tell everyone. We just did it the next day. My parents took a second before they hopped on the train of us having a baby. I think they thought it was too soon but there was nothing they could do.
I was not getting another abortion, and Halo would have went crazy if I did. The next month we hired Brian as a realtor and started house shopping. We wanted a two floor five bedroom with a big backyard and a finished basement.
I wanted another kitchen and full bathroom in the basement.
It took two and a half months for us to find the perfect house for us.
Moving in was extremely easy because all we had was clothes and shoes.
Halo wanted us to start over with everything, and I was fine with that. The only problem was this pregnancy.
I was sleepy all the time, hungry and I was not prepared for how different it would make me look.
Mama showed me pictures of her pregnancy with all of us and her body did the same.
It took a toll on me, and I was so emotional and self-conscious about it.
Hendrix, Siren, Regan and even Imani were so supportive.
I have to say, Greek and Golden became bug brothers to me as well and very overprotective.
Last month I saw Greek at Target and started shopping with me and even followed me until I got home.
Halo was with the contractor for his business that he was opening up.
Greek called him and told him he ran into me and Halo was glad that he did.
They acted like I couldn’t do anything myself and I think it was because I was the first to have a baby.
I soaked up the love though and appreciated it.
I am still working and have a growing clientele.
Regan and I talked about expanding and partnership.
I told her as soon as I had this baby then I was ready to make that happen.
Hendrix and Siren decided to throw me a gender reveal.
They were the only two who knew what we were having.
The reveal was at a nice hall, a huge turnout, lots of food, great music and my family surprised me and flew in from Arizona.
When the reveal came, There was an all-black net over the entire hall that held balloons.
The colors were red for a boy and pink for a girl.
Me and Halo stood in the middle of the room holding hands while everyone counted down from ten. When they got to one the net opened and red balloons fell all around everyone. Halo was so happy, he hugged me and gave me a hell of a kiss. Then he thanked me repeatedly for giving him another chance.
When he got on one knee I started ‘ugly’ crying. Halo asked me in front of everyone to marry him and I said absolutely. My dad told me Halo asked him when we were in Arizona. That day was one of the best days of my life.
“Story, you about to be the most beautiful woman at the grand opening. Don’t nobody got shit on you.” He grabbed a tissue from the Kleenex box and carefully cleaned my face.
“You mean it?”
“Hell yeah, I mean it boo. You are carrying my son. That’s not an easy task.
Your body is changing but in the most beautiful way.
Soon, he’ll be here and your body will look like whatever you want it to be.
But you gotta take it easy, relax, and know that I’m gone hype you up no matter what. ” He gave me a juicy kiss.
“I love you, I mean we love you.” I smiled and corrected myself.
He gave me another kiss. He looked so handsome in his three-piece pinstripe suit.
It was dark green with thin white stripes.
This was one of the rare times he did not have a bandana on his head.
But I freshly did his long individual braids.
My green dress matched his, my hair was in an all down in curls.
“I love you both a whole lot.” He got on his knees and kissed my stomach. “Prince, help ya mama calm down for daddy. We gone have a good night and be back home so I can cater to her.” He kissed my stomach again.
We were naming our son Prince Malik Stone. The middle name was the brother’s dad’s first name. Me and Halo went to his parents’ grave and told them all about their new grandson coming.
“Okay, tonight is your night and I promise to relax.” I reassured him after I made sure my make-up was fine.
Halo stood up and held his hand out for me to stand up. “It’s our big night. O8 Angels is now reality because of you. I tell you all the time that I found healing and peace when I met you.”
I placed my hand in his and stood. “As soon as Prince gets here, I want to start planning our wedding. I can’t wait until I’m your wife Mr. Stone.”
“Mm, okay Mrs. Stone. You keep that talk up and I swear I’ma fuck you so good another baby gone appear next to Prince.”
I giggled and we left our room hand and hand ready to celebrate this huge accomplishment for my soon-to-be husband.
