Ch33 Pride of the Higurashi
(Y/N POV - Modern Era)
"This should be strong enough master." Yura said, tugging at a bunch of hair woven together over a makeshift support out of ice.
Both while weak looking were much stronger then it's appearence would suggest. Thanks to those accursed shards, now if only I could stop freezing over every now and then. That regain full feeling in my legs soon.
This makeshift rig was to help lower me into the well without Yura's help whenever she had to leave with Kagome when the Nikuzuki no Men attacked.
Honestly it was harder to get her to part with enough hair to make this makeshift rope then to get her to go with Kagome for this.
Then again Kagome now had her comb and Yura knew that she would snap the comb with no hesitation if she didn't need Yura's help along with promising that I would get it back after this whole mess.
"And that should be good enough." I said as we both heard the sound of something breaking through the brush one side of the hill of the shrines entrance.
Considering that the Nikuzuki no Men was driving a fire truck and all the news about said truck continuously ramming into any blockade that the tsukumogami would blunt force it's way to the shrine.
"Yura would you mind going to Kagome now." I asked as she wheeled herself out of the well house.
"Are you sure that you will be alright Master?" Yura asked, looking like she would rather not have to follow my request.
"I'll be fine and this thing will be after Kagome with all of her jewel shards and her ancestry. I should be alright once the two of you lure it away." I said, getting Yura to pause for a few moments before sighing.
"Fine I'll help the girl, just stay safe Master." Yura grumbled out before heading towards Kagome's home while I wheeled myself to the shrine's gate.
Hoping that both Kagome was ready and that I don't freeze myself with what I was about to pull next.
(Kagome POV - 2 minutes earlier)
"Finally." I exhaled as I finished with the last my accumulated homework. After three days I have finally finished everything that I had been missing from school.
But I didn't have anytime to enjoy this feeling as I grabbed the jewel shards and slung my quiver of arrows over my shoulder.
According to constant new updates the Nikuzuki no Men's firetruck had been on it's way here and could possibly be here any minute now.
It was kind of nerve wracking to be honest, going to face a tsukumogami my ancestors faced and couldn't kill.
While it was not as big as a threat as Sesshōmaru or Hiten had been, this was more on a personal grudge for this.
The Nikuzuki no Men had injured Gramps and could have gotten Kagome, Sōta, and myself if we had been at the wrong places at the time.
So I was looking forward to this, but I couldn't help but some reservations about this.
I might have been able to overwhelm the Tsukumo no Gama and badly injured Manten, but never able to actually kill them at least without help. I probably won't be able to even face against it without help from Yura.
But right now I could care less, I was going to make the Nikuzuki no Men pay for what it did and put it down for good.
As I grabbed the hama ya and notched and arrow onto its drawstring, I heard Buyo mewing at feet and sighed.
"Sorry Buyo, but I cannot feed you right now. That and you have already had enough food for tonight." I said to Buyo, but he didn't listen. He only continued to meow and paw at me feet inorder to get him something to eat. "I do not have time for this."
"You literally do not." I heard Yura said from my window.
Grabbing my hama ya I notched an arrow and turned towards my window to find Yura opening it with her hairs.
"Could you not break through my window?" I said to her angerily.
"Only way to get you cause that masked bastard is literally nearly on top of us." Yura said, napping a finger at the shrine's gates. Where I could see the headlights of the firetruck starting to shine through the underbrush outside of the shrine.
Shit she is right, we need to start now and lure it away otherwise I am sure it would try and raze the shrine in order to get the shards.
"Let's just get this over with." I said to Yura as her hairs wrapped around me.
"Agreed, I can not wait for when this is over and you no longer have me comb." Yura grumbled out as carried me out of the window.
"Try anything and I will crack you comb." I warned her, getting the tsukumogami to shudder in fear and glare at me.
"Do not tempt me to drop you." Yura shot back.
I tried to tell her off for that when the firetruck reached the shrine's walls and hit them, stopping the truck in it's track.
I could hear the door open and saw a black blob travel to the ladder before forming into a shape similar to a common portrayal of an onmyōdō with an ugly, scratched noh mask for its face.
So this is the Nikuzuki no Men, now I could get why it went on a rampage throughout Tokyo instead of just straight up coming after the shards here.
That digesting odor that I could smell from here and the bits of black sludge falling off of it, it was in a constant state of decay. It had to have gathered enough people so it's body wouldn't have rotted right away if it came after the jewel shards.
Add that onto what it had done to my family and Y/N, it only sharpened my resolve to end that tsukumogami's existence.
I thought that I was ready for whatever it could have pulled.
Except for it to use the fire truck's ladder as a battering ram!
"You have got to be kidding me!" I shouted as Yura tried to move us out of the way. Yet the ladder came out of us too fast for even Yura and I was sure that it would have into one of us.
Until a later pillar of ice rose up and the ladder slammed into it, breaking the top of the pillar and severally damaging the ladder and stunning the Nikuzuki no Men.
"I suggest you start running you two, I don't think I will be able to something like this again anytime soon." Y/N called down and looking down I saw to my shock he was mostly half frozen.
His upper body, head, and left arm were mostly covered in jagged ice looking like he was shivering from the cold. Something I wouldn't have thought possible but given his recent brush with the shards it was expected.
To actually see its affect with his powers like this was beyond the general frosting that has happened over the past few days.
"Master-" "I'll be fine Yura, just need sometime to defrost. Something which will not be possible if you do not get the Nikuzuki no Men out if here." Y/N said while cutting Yura off.
He's right, the longer we stay here the better chance it could get him in his current condition.
Add into the fact that the Nikuzuki no Men was standing back up in the ladder and it's hand against the ice began melting it only increased my unease of the situation.
That's it, killing this thing here and now!
Both me and Yura shared a scathing look and nodded as we came to a silent agreement as I notched an arrow and she drew out Benigasumi.
We came to a silent agreement then and there.
No arguments or antagonizing each other until this abomination was dead.
I felt the similar surge of reiryoku, the same one I felt during the conflict with that flat chested bitch. The same anger and hate, I focused on it and the tip of my arrow glowed a fierce pinkish violet before both me and Yura released our projectiles.
The Nikuzuki no Men screamed out in pain as the arrow and Benigasumi pierced it's shoulders. The former blowing up a great chunk of it's shoulder and Benigasumi was buried deep into it's other shoulder before violently being ripped out.
"Stay away from my master you horrid excuse of a tsukumogami." Yura said, getting the masked yokai to growl.
At this I had to hold back a grin as Yura pulled us behind it and lodged Benigasumi into where it's throat would be, getting the yokai to scream out in pain.
Before I notched another arrow and let it lose, reiryoku glowing from the tip. The Nikuzuki no Men raised part of it's body to defend itself only for it to be blown away.
"I only serve master, not the girl here." Yura growled out as she ripped out Benigasumi and drew it back.
"But you are right about the miko part." I said truthfully, no matter how much I hated to admit it.
I had absolutely no direct control over my reiryoku and when I did it felt so wrathful and spiteful. Something I am pretty sure that it is not normal, as I could start to feel it trying to force it's way into my mind.
I focused on dispelling my reiryoku for now, I didn't need it at the moment for what I am about to do.
"But I still can do what my ancestor couldn't do and finally destroy you!" I declared, getting the Nikuzuki no Men's entire being to bristle in hatred.
"Not bad girl, you seem to have a talent for pissing off yokai." Yura said, her tone containing a bit of amusement.
"It certainly seems that way." I said with a grin as I could hear the fire truck backing away and into the treeline and coming after us.
Looks like your plan is working and with that thing after us we shouldn't run into any major problems. Except for maybe figuring out a way to get rid of the fire truck.
Considering it was somewhat operable and it tried to ram is with it, that thing has got to go.
If it didn't break down on it own on the way to the construction site where we are going to finish it once and for all.
Hopefully we won't need Y/N to get Inuko to help out, but after last week we can't be too careful.
That and with Y/N back in the past or being far enough away from it, the jewel shard in Nikuzuki no Men would try and be absorbed into his shard. With his current condition there was no telling in what could happen and at worst it could cause a relapse of what happened with Hiten.
But at this moment, there was one thing and one thing only that I was focused on.
Making sure that accursed tsukumogami payed for what it has done to Gramps.
(Y/N POV - A few minutes later)
After a bit I could finally disperse the ice pillar as most of the ice on my body had vanished minus a good portion on my left arm.
For once I was happy to be more yuki-onna then human at this point, otherwise the amount of ice that covered me would have done more then getting me really cold.
Though I dread that I would have to do so again soon, but I could focus on that later but for now I need to get Buyo and bring him to the wellhouse.
It was going to be difficult enough to go down the well in a wheelchair, so I could use the extra 4.5 to 6.8 kilograms to help my descent down the well.
Getting down there is going to be the hard part, going back up is going to be easy... minus the cold.
With one last shiver I dispersed the ice over my left arm going wheeling myself around the shrine to look for Buyo.
(Yura POV - A little bit later)
Everything was going accord to what the girl and master had planned.
Except for the fact that masked bastard was more desperate then either of them thought.
Taking whatever chance while pursuing us to try and nab a human to replenish it's grotesque body.
Stopping it from doing so while making sure no on saw either of us was an ardious task.
One that I delispised to do so, but as master and the girl had made clear a necessity due to how few yokai existed in this part of Nippon in their era.
Though there was a certain satisfaction in twisting Benigasumi in that masked bastard's rotting body and removing it quickly.
It was a disappointment for a tsukumogami like myself. Needing a constant supply of flesh to maintain a functioning body.
While I needed hair to have a body of my own, the difference was my body doesn't rot at all or need a constant resupply of material. I have gone years without a need to add more hair to my body, only necessary whenever my body became damaged enough.
So in essence a tsukumogami in my opinion at least was a disappointment if they could fail to maintain.
But then again, I suppose it wasn't entirely the masked bastard's fault that it was a disappointment.
With it forming a hundred some years from our time and the girl's grandfather being proof that the quality of both yokai and reiryoku users had gone down significantly.
With my master and the girl being exceptions.
Speaking of which.
"Can you put that phone down and help out a little?" I asked scathingly as I carried myself and the girl and myself from rooftop to rooftop with the Nikuzuki no Men driving like crazy to catch up on the roads below.
The girl has been on the phone for the past few minutes when she could have better spent time firing arrows at the masked bastard.
I swear if she didn't have my comb and how much master cared for her, I would have dropped the girl off of one of these buildings right now.
Would have solved so many of my problems right now...
"Actually I am helping, I believe that I know where we can get rid of that thing's firetruck." Kagome said, getting me to raise an eye brow.
"Go on?" I said, curious to know what the girl had in mind.
"At the next traffic light make a left onto a side street and continue to go straight.
There should be an open construction on a sewer down that road.
We lure it there and destroying most of the tires on the firetruck and then we should be in the clear.
" Kagome said while putting away her phone, getting me to grin.
I am going to enjoy this.
"Well then hang on, I see our turn." I said, jumping of the rooftop and used my hairs to pull us across the street. The masked bastard's truck making a violent turn after us.
We continued down the road for a few minutes before I saw what the girl had suggested. An open, deep square shaped hole in the road. Not the most ideal place to stop the truck.
Unless we can get it to turn over the hole, which given the reckless driving that masked bastard has displayed so far shouldn't be too much of a problem to do so.
"Be ready to take out one of the tires." I said to the girl as I pulled us over the roadway and suspended us in the perfect spot.
"On it." Kagome said while notching an arrow.
"Now!" Kagome shouted as we sung to the other side of the truck. Myself throwing Benigasumi at the fire truck's unstuck front tire while the girl shot at the rear tire.
I managed to slash the front tire while the arrow got stuck in the rear tire before breaking into pieces and mangling it.
When that side collapsed onto the road I swung is back around and slashed the other tire with Benigasumi before pulling back as the truck stopped moving no matter what the masked bastard tried.
After giving one last smirk at my work before taking off with Kagome down the street as we could see at the fringes of my vision the top of an unfinished building and what master and the girl had described as a crane.
That was our destination, the place where we could finish that masked bastard once and for all.
"Yura I suggest now's a good time to leave now." Kagome said, getting me to look back at the fire truck to see the masked bastard's body seeping out of it before billowing up to the air and began to float in the air and slink after us.
Well that could present a problem...if it could catch us that is.
The masked bastard looked like it was struggling to keep itself up in the air and keeping itself together. And it seemed dead set on pursuing us now.
So unless this masked bastard goes after any human below us, it will waste more you struggle to maintain it's form.
Without the fire truck it would burn more yoki this way, making easier to get rid of the masked bastard when the time came.
And that was something I was looking forward to it.
(Inuko POV - Sengoku Jidai)
Dear Amaterasu my back is still killing me...
Not as much thankfully, but it still hurt like Yomi.
I however did my best to ignore the pain as I approached the well, planing on checking if anything has happened.
I haven't seen, heard, or smelled either Y/N, Kagome, or Yura since that hair bitch was around here earlier.
Over the past few days either one of the three had come back for a time. Minus the hairy bitch doing so everytime in order to rebuild her nest. Something which I really do not want to know where she got all of that hair from.
Now if Y/N or Kagome didn't come back for a day or two I could understand.
They are probably have something to do in their own era and I could understand if they had something to take care of. As long as they came back inorder to gather the jewel shards I would be fine.
Shippō on the other hand...not so much. He was missing them and was looking forward to drawing with Y/N.
So after him constantly asking me to check up on them after the sun set and my back mostly recovered, I finally told the little brat that I could check.
Never seen the kit look so happy as t me begrundly told him that except for when he was with Y/N.
After that he fell asleep soon after and Kaede suggested that it was best not to disturb him until tomorrow or unless there was an emergency.
Which considering your luck this week, I hope that there was none.
Anyway I just arrived at the well, and the edges of it were frost over.
"You have got to be kidding me." I growled out as I looked down the well to see Y/N halfway to the top, the inside frozen and his legs, most of his torso, and a small portion of his right arm was heavily frosted.
"What made you think it was a good idea to go down the well by yourself and to use your powers like this so soon after Kaede warned you about it.
" I growled out as I picked him up by his wheelchair and placed him outside of the well before sighing.
"Unless you have got a damned good reason to do so. "
Besides being heavily frosted and some shivering he seemed to be alright. Thankfully nothing like he was after that mess with the thunder bitch.
So there was one less thing to worry about, but considering he came through the well alone meant that something was happening with the Kagome and the hairy bitch back in their era.
"Considering that they were currently luring away a tsukumogami that was created from a jewel shard, we thought it was the best for me to come get you." Y/N said, slightly shivering as the ice starting to fade away on his legs.
"You have got to be kidding me! It is only been three days and trouble has already followed you to your era!" I growled out.
"Not exactly, one of Kagome's ancestors sealed it away and the seal broke earlier today. It nearly killed Grandpa and wet the shrine's storage house on fire before going on a rampage in the modern era." Y/N said, getting me to sigh.
"Sounds like quite the piece of work, and you came here to get me for help and to stay out of the way." I said simply, getting him to nod.
"You got it, though they probably don't need the help dealing with. But after last time we thought that it was the best to not be too careful." Y/N said getting me to nod.
"Fair enough." I said while picking him off, before feeling my back cracked yet again!
Izanami damn it!
I held in a growl as pain flashed through my back once again before it began to subside with a cold feeling.
What the, oh right.
"I forgot you could do that." I said as Y/N held his hand against my back, and I could feel the back pain subsiding quite a bit.
"It's been a little since I used it to do something more then heal up some scratches or freeze up wounds." Y/N said as he held his hand there for a few more moments before removing it. His hand now covered in a layer of frost. "How does that feel?"
Stretching a little bit, I felt my back twinge a little in pain but it was nothing like it was compared what it once was.
"A moment later and it would have entirely healed up." I said, trying not to hide the joy I was feeling.
That accursed back pain was practically gone!
"Now come on." I said while picking him up, catching Y/N by surprise as I jumped down the well and the ice beneath me started to crack.
"Wait, you might want to watch your step when you get to the other side." Y/N said as the ice underneath me started to disperse.
"And why is that?" I asked as we reached the bottom of the well.
"Buyo should still be down at the bottom of the well." Y/N said as we crossed through to the other side.
Wait isn't that the girl's day cat?
It was as when I got to Y/N's era the cat was meowing at my feet, an empty metal container and a rope made of hair next to him.
"Why's the cat down here?" I asked Y/N as I picked up the fat cat with one hand and gave the cat to him.
"I needed the extra weight to get down here safely." Y/N said as I jumped out of the well with a shrug.
Only to hastily put him down as the smell entered my nose.
"Dear Amaterasu, it burns!" I shouted as I covered my nose as.
It smelt like a corpse had been left out in the open to decay for a week and burnt wood. On it's own that kind of smell was not enough to bother me that much. But this smell was much, much worse!
"So this from the tsukumogami then, at least I know what I am looking for." I gagged out.
"You need anything Inuko?" Y/N asked, getting me to wave him off.
"I'll be fine, just give me a minute to get used to the smell." I said while gagging out before picking up the trail. I waited another minute before getting used to that disgusting smell before I manage to get used to it.
"Make sure to brace yourself when we get back." I said, getting Y/N to sigh.
"I am not looking forward to this, but I guess there is no use delaying the inevitable." He said, either one o us not looking forward to dealing with any jewel shards.
Considering that they literally fly right to him, the best we could do is contain the shard as long as we could.
With a sigh of my own I jumped into the shrine's gates before jumping off and taking off after the trail of everyone.
Knowing that they probably didn't need my help, but I could at least save some action myself. After spending most of my day suffering from back pain, I could really use the opportunity to sink my class into something!
(Kagome POV - Same time)
We were finally at the construction site and just in time too.
The Nikuzuki no Men had almost caught up in to us and as we touched down onto the top floor, it crashed into the floor before reforming.
"You really shouldn't have said that." I said angerily as I notched another arrow.
I was going to enjoy this.
The Nikuzuki no Men roared out as it's form melted into a blob and sent tendrils after me and Yura.
I fired my arrow and Yura sent her hairs towards them.
My arrow blew them apart, but to our surprise the tendrils manager to burn through Yura's hair. However she was clearly not going let what happened last time as she pulled them back and threw Benigasumi at it. Almost taking the Nikuzuki no Men out if it didn't move it's mask out of the way.
Still it did manage to pierce it's flesh and gave me enough time to launch another arrow at it.
The tsukumogami roared out in pain before it went behind a unfinished wall before it came after me.
The floor a little scorched as it removed it's tendril and tried to come after me once again.
Only for Yura to cut it off with Benigasumi and for her hairs to pull me onto the other side of the floor.
"Can you give me some cover real quick?" Yura said from a nearby support beam, one hand pulling back Benigasumi and myself and the other with her hairs reaching down the sides of the unfinished building.
"No problem." I said, pulling out a special arrow that I had been wanting to try use on the Nikuzuki no Men.
An arrow with one of Gramps's sultras on it. We found that three of them still were usable and according to Y/N they should exceeding in delivering quite a nasty shock to the tsukumogami as they were made specifically to repeal it.
So this better work.
I focused my reiryoku into the arrow and sultra and the pain I wanted to bring onto the Nikuzuki no Men before letting it lose.
It struck true and the Nikuzuki no Men let out an agony filled screech as a good portion of it's body was blown away and arcs of reiryoku seemed to traverse across it's body.
It groaned out as it was battered with the equipment before the sutra stopped glowing and it split it's body in two and took off behind some unfinished walls.
Well this is just great, it can split itself apart and now there is a mess of shattered construction equipment right in front of us.
Sure I knew that this was going to happen, but I would prefer to keep it to a minimum.
We better finish this soon, as I believe all of the noise from everything Yura had just smashed into the Nikuzuki no Men.
I sighed out before focusing my resolve and notching an arrow before looking above to see Yura with her hairs trailing down the building inorder to gather more materials to throw at the Nikuzuki no Men. With Benigasumi also being ready to be thrown at a moments notice.
For a minute or two both me and Yura patrolled along the rooftop, looking through every corner for a trace of the Nikuzuki no Men. There was the occasional groan and the sound of something being dragged around on the floor.
It was honest starting to get a little disconcerting, at least the dragging sound as it grows heavier and heavier with each passing second. Especially since it sounded like it was getting closer and closer.
I guess we were finally starting to damage it, but it was too soon to tell. It's better to be safe and keep my eyes open if Yura didn't spot it first.
It let out a roar of pain as part of it's body destroyed and it turned out to be the half without the mask. As it retreated. Back several chunks of stone fell down to the floor from it's body.
Wait a minute, stone don't tell me it's what I think it is!
Picking up one of the broken stones it felt exactly what I thought that it was, concrete. Only it a soap like texture to it and was formed into a jagged shape.
It must've used the mix in the bavs Yura slammed over it to create it. I don't want to know how but considering how it could now use this along with it's flesh, the Nikuzuki no Men just became even more dangerous.
The next thing I knew was that a tendril slammed into my knee and I held in from shouting in pain before two large tendrils slammed me into the ground and knocking my bow out of my hands.
Looking at Yura I saw that she was fending against a smaller portion of the Nikuzuki no Men, using Benigasumi cut off it to pieces while staying back from the concrete tipped tendrils.
"Rot in Yomi you pathetic pile of sludge!" I shouted as I kicked the arrow into one of it's tendrils, getting it to scream out in pain as reiryoku arced across it's body.
Before I could get up I found myself being pulled up by Yura's hairs up towards the support beam she was on.
"Can you still fight girl?" Yura asked as she helped my up and handed me my hama ya.
I winced as pain flared up from my knee and saw a massive scrap all along it.
"I'll be fine, but no more getting close to that abomination." I said, though knowing I would probably be walking with a lump for a bit after this.
"Then how about we finish this masked bastard off Kagome." Yura said with a grin, getting me to blink in surprise as didn't call me girl.
Before seeing where several of her hairs were trailing off too and my facial expression matched her's.
"Alright then, you want to go first or should I." I said while notching an arrow.
"How about we both, just this once." Yura said, training Benigasumi at Nikuzuki no Men.
The reiryoku stopped arcing off it and it stretched it's body towards us.
We waited until it's mask was directly underneath our trap before we attack.
"I think not. Now!" I shouted as me and Yura launched our projectiles and both hit their mark.
Getting it to roar out in pain before Yura pulled out Benigasumi.
And pulling lose the steel i-beams from the crane directly above it, getting it to scream out in pain as the collapsed onto it's body.
"Well that was satisfying." Yura said with a smirk.
"It sure was, but let's make sure that abomination stays dead first." I said notching another arrow ready for anything.
Except for it to rise out the wreckage and pick up one of the i-beams with it's whole body.
You have got to be kidding me!
Yura tried to pull us away, but a moment later it proved unnecessary.
"Sankon Tēsso!"
As Inuko jumped between us and sunk her claws into the steel I-beamand cut it in half!
I was stunned seeing that, and thankful she wasn't against us once again.
Yura took advantage of the situation and used her hairs to send both halves of the i-beam and sent them crashing back done to the Nikuzuki no Men and getting it to growl out in pain.
"So that thing is what you too have been fighting, not bad. A lot better then the Tsukumo no Gama." Inuko said as she stretched her claws.
"No kidding, that thing is a lot harder to take down then what I first thought." I admitted, wincing from the hash on my knee.
"But looks like that masked bastard is nearly finished." Yura said as she pointed down below.
True to her words the Nikuzuki no Men had picked itself back up, but now it seemed to be falling apart. With it's flesh and concrete falling off of it and drives and looked like it was struggling to keep itself together.
Not that much longer and it would be reduced to nothing more then a mask.
"Alright, then let's finish this." I said while notching an arrow.
"But first, let me get a few hits in. I could use the chance to relief some stress." Inuko said with a grin, getting me to nod with a sigh.
That would probably be for best, give me and Yura a better chance to finish the Nikuzuki no Men once and for all.
With that Inuko drew out her claws and began to swipe repeatedly at the tsukumogami, cutting apart it's body and tendrils as it tried to defend itself.
"You got the shot?" I asked as Yura trained Benigasumi, getting her to nod.
It was time to end this.
Inuko managed to get a few more swipes of her claws in before I got a perfect shot of it's mask.
"This is for burning part of my family's shrine!" I shouted out, my arrow glowing with reiryoku before firing it into one half of the mask, getting the Nikuzuki no Men to scream out in pain.
"This is for threatening master you masked bastard!" Yura shouted out as Benigasumi pierced through the other half and the Nikuzuki no Men's to grow even weaker and hollower.
"And this." I said, notching my last sutra arrow. "This is for attacking my grandfather and threatening my family! Burn in deepest pits of Yomi for all of eternity you damned mask!"
With that I fired the arrow and it struck the Nikuzuki no Men in its mask.
Right where it's jewel shard was.
The Nikuzuki no Men let out one final scream before it fell limp and collapsed to the ground.
It's body soon began to melt and evaporated, it's concrete shards crumbled into dust, and finally it's mask was reduced to ashes caught in the wind. All in the matter of a few moments.
The Nikuzuki no Men was no more, all that was left was it's jewel shard that Inuko picked up.
I did it...I killed the Nikuzuki no Men. With Yura's help if course, but still I managed to do something no one in my clan for the past 300 years could do.
Ir was a little surreal, to accomplish something like that. But also very satisfying.
However that feeling was drowned out by the feelings of anger and hatred from my reiryoku taking over. It especially increased when Inuko jumped back up with the shard.
All it would take is one arrow right through-
I quickly and hastily cut off the feelings and the connection from the reiryoku while dropping my hama ya, cutting me off from it once again and the exhaustion hitting me all at once.
"You alight?" Inuko asked.
"I'm fine, just a little exhausted and in pain." I said, getting Inuko to nod.
"Yeah, still how did it feel. Your first kill that is?" Inuko asked with a smirk.
"It felt good, the Nikuzuki no Men attacked my family and was a problem that should have been dealt with a long time ago. I am glad that it is dead." I said honestly, getting Inuko to nod as she handed me the shard.
"Good, now word of advise remember that feeling and reason why you did so. Unlike Y/N you seem to have that killing instinct, given how tempted you were to kill that hairy bitch and still are." Inuko said, getting Yura to growl at her.
"Please don't remind me or give the girl any ideas." Yura growled out.
I was still tempted, but not at this moment. I promised Y/N as much and she did help me bring that abomination down.
"Just remember to pick your kills, cause unlike with the thunder bitch they usually stick." Inuko growled out.
"Well don't worry, I will be planning on it." I said honestly, getting her to nod.
"Good, otherwise you could possibly end up like the hairy bitch and wish to kill anyone for their hair." Inuko said with a smirk.
"That isn't untrue...and I've been getting better about that." Yura grumbled out.
"Sure you have, now when we get back keep a steady hand on that shard." Inuko said, leaving unanswered that we would probably have to bring Y/N back to Kaede if we did so.
I really should have figured that she would have left him back at the shrine.
"That and I believe now is the time to go." Yura said, using her hairs to transverse to a nearby building and back towards the shrine.
At first I was wondering why she left so silently, until I heard the sounds of multiple sirens heading our way.
I completely forgot about that!
"What is that accursed noise?!" Inuko growled out, her ears twitching in annoyance.
"That is the police and if they catch us here we are in trouble." I said, getting her to nod.
"Then get on." Inuko said as I picked up my hama ya and climbed onto her back asshe jumped off after Yura as the police began to close in around the construction site.
I did not want to be around there when they discover how much Yen in damages we caused in our fight.
Also going to have made extra sure nothing like this happens again, I do not think that Tokyo can handle another rampage with anything stronger then the Nikuzuki no Men.
Still I at least feel happier knowing that I have dealt with it and made sure that it could never harm anyone else again.
I just hope never to have to deal with another yokai in this era ever again.

Hey guys Mukuro7 here and I hoped that you all enjoyed this chapter.
I will keep it short as currently I am tired, but I hoped that you all enjoyed this chapter.
Next chapter will be an interlude chapter of sorts.
Focusing on the on goings of Y/N and Sesshōmaru in their respective eras as we begin the second part of the Modernity arc.
So you hope you all enjoy that when it comes out, which hopefully it should be on October 3rd. The same day Yashahime should come out.
Which I can not wait for.
Speaking of which before I go I could use a second opinion on something.
I am literally just starting the Toaru series starting with the first season of Railgun and loving it so far. A friend of mine suggested some other older anime and a manga to check out. If you guys would give me an insight and you would recommend them please tell me so.
The anime I was suggested were M?r, Crest of the Stars, Vandread, Turn A Gundam, and Records of Lodoss War. The manga I was suggested was Samurai Deeper Kyo. Any opinions would be welcome.
