Zoya #2

As much as I wanted to protest, I was quickly learning not to piss this man off. From the way he just looked at me to how hot his body was, I could tell that I better had dropped the subject. The last thing he needed to worry about was me or his baby.

Quasim looked down at Blair. “Anjo?”

“I know, Simmy. We can get the kids, and I’ll tell Elijah we’re going on a quick vacation without you.” She was nervous as she stared up into his eyes.

This was what came with being Queen Inferno and knowing your husband was Diablo. She couldn’t just tell him to stay with them. Despite almost losing his life, she knew that Quasim couldn’t just sit down.

This was his life.

Capri looked at her watch. “Core is holding the calls, but eventually they will have this place surrounded. I can’t come with you girls just yet, but the minute that I can… I will.”

Meer looked at his wife. “Wish I could put you on that jet, too, Sug.”

“Not yet, Meer… let me cover my ass with work.”

Capone held his wife’s hand and walked over. “Gorgeous and the kids are going, too.”

“Ain’t shit getting through the gates of the compound,” Goo said.

He nodded, knowing that the security at the compound was top notch.

“I’d rather her be with the rest of the women.

Menace, I understand this shit is personal because they came at your wife.

My wife ducked right as that nigga pulled the trigger.

This shit just as personal to me, so I’m on what you on. ”

Menace remained quiet and nodded.

Erin looked up at her husband. “Winston, you make it home to us. Do you hear me?” Her voice was shaky as she held onto him.

Capone kissed her lips. “Always going to make it home to y’all. Always.”

Stevie was still trembling. “Mavie, I don’t wanna go without you… just come with us… all of you come with us… my island is really nice.”

He stroked her face gently as he stared down at her, this foreign look overcoming his eyes. “For that moment when I thought you were gone… Wonder, I would have taken that gun and done myself in. I’m your protector, and Boo, there’s just some parts of me I never want you to see… okay?”

Duke took Dennis from her as she reached up and hugged him. “Are you going to come when you’re done?”

“Of course.”

“If you don’t, I won’t give your brother or sisters their money from the will, Mavie,” she threatened, and he laughed because she was his entire world.

“You too nice to do some shit like that, Wonder.”

“You left my inheritance in her hands?” I blurted.

Everyone stared at me, and I hid behind Goo’s arms. “No offense.”

Stevie and Menace ignored me. “Take your medicine, Mavie. Be careful.”

Menace chuckled, his side tooth outlined with gold peeking through. “Boo, I don’t need those right now, K?”

Stevie nodded. “K… I’ll have them waiting for you.”

He blinked a few times fast, stretched his neck from side to side.

“Head out. The cops are going to come because of the area and Corleon can’t hold them off for long. I’ll stay with Navy and play the confused act… though, I am actually confused,” Capri said.

“I’ll stay with you,” Aimee said.

Capella looked at his wife, kissing her lips. “Aim, I’m on the next block… call me when you done. I’m coming.”

“Will do, Honey.” She kissed his lips.

Capri looked at Aimee. “Ready, Aim?”

Aimee nodded, and both she and Capri hit the IG shake, as they headed towards the front of the venue.

Menace continued to crack his neck as Stevie kissed his lips, and Duke took her with him. He watched his wife and son leave out the back with her security and looked over at his best friend.

“Yo, Bruster… to the end?”

Corleon kissed Skyler and Jeffie as they both held hands and headed out behind Stevie before he answered. “To the fucking end.”

Menace headed in the opposite direction with Corleon walking behind him. It was then that I noticed Corleon had that same walk as his older brothers.

Goo pulled me in front of him and kissed me on the lips a few times.

“Jet and don’t piss me off, Zoya.”

“Pumpkin, have I ever…” I allowed my words to trail off because clearly, I had pissed his ass off too many times. His face told it all.

“What about clothes… I don’t have my emotional support cup.” I never traveled without it, and although this was an emergency situation, I felt naked without having it with me.

He held my face and kissed my lips. “I’m gonna bring it with me. You trust me?”

I couldn’t lie and pretend like I wasn’t scared. “Goo, bring my brother to that island… Stevie and Dennis need him.” I looked away, lowering my voice. “We need him.”

Goo kissed my lips. “Dragging that nigga kicking and screaming, Boobie. He gotta walk yo’ stubborn ass down the aisle.”

I smiled, laughing. “No ring on this finger, Goo.”

“That may be true… but you got that belly full of me. Ring come next, K?”

I hugged him tightly, kissing him and headed out the other back door while he walked with Cappadonna, as the rest of them left.

“Mens, niggas not shooting with my wife in here and I’m not coming. We out then!” I heard him yell as he continued down the hall.

Just because we knew this life didn’t mean we weren’t scared. There was always a possibility of losing the people we loved.

A possibility that I couldn’t even think of right now.
