Song Recommendation: Listen to “Devil in a New Dress” by Kayne West.
It was a shame that blood would end up on this suit at the end of the night. Either way, I felt sharp as shit in the tuxedo that I wore tonight. The arms could have been let out some, but under the circumstances, I understood shit had to be rushed.
My mind was on hearing the heartbeat of my creation.
When Boobie played the sound over the phone, my fucking heart melted.
I wish I could have been there in person to share that moment with her.
The last thing I wanted her to feel was alone in this, because she wasn’t.
This was what we both wanted and I would be damned if I ever missed another appointment.
Cappadonna and Capone pulled up, hopping out dressed in suits. Capone had a velvet du-rag on his head that matched his suit.
“Niggas clean up real nice.”
They smirked, gold shimmering in their mouths. “I do a little something… considering I desig—”
“Don’t start your shit, Capp.” I laughed, as I dapped them both up, and we leaned on the trucks.
“Niggas never wanna hear the fucking truth.”
I chuckled. “Or maybe you never wanna hear that you’re delusional.”
He shrugged, knowing that rage baiting us into thinking he had all these occupations made his damn day. Meer walked up, dapping us all up. His locs were in barrel twist to the back.
“This not some catching bodies on the highway,” he spoke, the calmest I had seen the nigga.
Meer usually kept a joke in the tuck, tonight he was as serious as Jahquel J. locked in a tank with a dolphin.
Shit was serious.
“I’m chill as shit. Erin almost being caught in the crossfire is enough for me to catch a body or two.” Capone chuckled.
“This the same nigga that killed a federal judge.” His twin laughed.
“And would kill that bitch again and again.”
I nudged Meer. “You scared?”
He looked at me like nigga be serious.
“Blaze ain’t never fucking scared,” Quasim came walking up the block.
Core had us split up. We were a few blocks from the Reserve waiting on the next steps. Lucipher was able to get an invitation, so he was our way inside undetected. They were waiting on him to give the word, so we could come in discreetly, since security was everywhere.
A red Ferrari pulled down the block slowly. Three bikes escorted it, as it slowed down in front of Quasim. The passenger door opened, and a patent leather pair of Louboutins with a heel that should have been illegal to walk on, stepped out.
The silk of the red dress fell to the floor, as Quasim helped his wife out the car. Blair wore a long red silk dress with the entire back missing. Her blonde pixie was freshly styled along with her makeup.
Quasim bit down on his bottom lip as he spun her around and stole kisses on her neck. “Fuck, Anjo.”
She reached up to kiss him, using her hands to remove the gloss from his lips. “I’m going to be alright.”
He took a deep breath. “Yeah, I fucking know it.”
His eyes hadn’t left her body since she stepped out of the car. Blair looked into his eyes. “Capri is already inside. Once Menace enters, we know to head towards Philly to the airport.”
Quasim held her chin as he kissed her lips again. “I’ll see you when I touch down.”
“Hate that we can’t fly back together.”
“Kiss my babies for me, Anjo.”
“Nope.” She gave his lips a quick peck and walked around the car as Mina stepped from behind the driver’s door. “You can kiss them yourself. See you when you touch down, King.”
She got into the car, as Mina walked around it and kissed both her boys. I watched as Blair revved her engine of the red challenger. Kiki pulled in front on her bike and looked at her. Havoc pulled to the side, while Yasin took the back.
They both nodded their head. Yasin moved out the way so Quasim could approach the car.
“Be careful, Simmy,” Blair said, as she held her hand out the window.
Quasim and Meer were the only ones not in suits and had come on their burner bikes. They knew the moment things went left; they would have to ditch their bikes.
His gloved hand took her small hand into his, her red nail polish brighter than usual. “You strapped?”
I could tell this wasn’t what he wanted, but Blair wasn’t taking no for an answer. She had sat back plenty of times and watched her best friend handle business on her behalf. This time, she wasn’t afraid, not knowing her way around a gun, or pregnancy stopping her.
Queen had gone through hell and came through those flames like a fucking phoenix. She had been counted out more times than I could count.
“Built from ashes, and crowned in flames, my love,” Quasim said, as he kissed her hand, and looked into her eyes.
She met his gaze. “Where the King walks, ashes fucking follow.”
Mina nodded, as I watched her jaw move, knowing she was switching her razor from one side of her mouth to the other. “I’m in the ground before either one of them are taken away… hear me?” she told her sons.
Mina had been extended an invitation to the ball and was showing up a little after Blair.
“Papa already inside,” I told them.
We all received a chime on our phones, knowing what that meant.
“My love.”
“Simmy.” She smiled, as she rolled her window up.
He put his helmet on, and watched as she revved the engine again. Havoc took the lead, while Kiki and Yasin covered the other sides of her.
Meer put his helmet on and got on his bike. He sped down the block, dipping down the opposite side as everyone headed off.
“The devil in a fucking red dress,” Quasim said with a smirk, climbing onto his bike, and heading behind his brother.
