Sierra
Chapter forty-four
Ifeel dirty. The detective asked question after question about the video. All of them I had no answer for because I couldn’t remember the night. The questions went on until Rico put an end to it, telling them his attorney would be in touch.
I was a mess walking out of the building and had no intentions of going to school. I just wanted to scream at the top of my lungs.
Why is all this happening to me? Haven’t I endured enough? They say God never gives you more than you can handle. Well, I think they’re wrong about that.
Rico wanted to drop me at home, but I knew the people he was meeting today would be at the club. And I wanted to be there too. This involves me, I deserve to know what’s going on.
I’m not being left in the dark about this. I want to know what’s happening,I deserve to know.
I’m sitting at the bar while he does inventory. He closed it down this afternoon, even told the staff not to come in, paying them all for it. They all think he’s being nice. Nope. He just doesn’t want anybody listening in on what’s going to be said.
“So when are the big bad people getting here?” I finally ask, spinning around on my chair to look up at the stage. It looks so different during the day with all the lights on and no one swinging around it half dressed with their titties hanging out.
“It will be any minute, but you, young lady, will wait in my office,” he orders, like he thinks that will really happen.
“Nuh-uh, no way in hell I’m not being present for it.”
The words have just left my mouth when the front doors open and a group of bikers enter with one woman. She’s fucking gorgeous, with dark hair and a body I wish I had.
“Ricochet, my man, long time no see!” one of the older men shouts as Rico moves from behind the counter and they bro hug, slapping each other on the back as they laugh loudly.
“I go by Rico now, Sam. And congrats on the new grandbaby.”
“Hey, what about congrats to the dad, Uncle Ricochet?” a handsome dark-haired man laughs as he asks. He bears a striking resemblance to the older man.
“Fucking hell, is this Ryker? Fuck boy, you were a pain in the ass, and now you’re a dad and married?” Rico hugs him and I just sit there awkwardly.
The woman steps up to me, smiling widely.
“Well, since these boys are busy acting like women who haven’t seen each other in ages, I’m Arizona.
My man is the burly, sour faced one over there, Bash.
When I heard he was coming and what it was about, I thought I might be able to help.
” She plops down on the chair beside me, then reaches over the bar, picking up a bottle of tequila and a glass.
“Nice to meet you.” I smile awkwardly.
“Sorry, this is my niece, Sierra. This is Sam, Bash, Ryker, Colin, Jake and Tank. And I’m sorry, but the rest of you I don’t know.” Guess he really hasn’t seen them in a while.
“Those over there are our prospects. The one with the glasses is Onyx. And the three around him are Kia, Sutter and Stryker. They are almost patched in and we felt this would be a good job for them.”
I smile and nod at them. It’s hard to explain, but I’m more nervous in this room with these men than I am dancing on the stage half dressed.
“So, Earl messaged and said there’s been a wrench in our original plan. That the pigs are out.”
“Yeah. Someone, and we’re pretty sure who, turned in the video to the police station.
We had to go down there today for them to question Sierra.
She was drugged and doesn’t remember the night, so there’s not much she can say.
We didn’t mention the little video being sent around school yet.
Since it technically wasn’t sent to her phone. ”
The older men, Bash and Sam, along with the two younger ones, sit down at one table and Rico joins them. “Sierra, can you bring us a bottle of Jack and some glasses, please?”
Nodding, I slide off the chair and get them what they ask for.
The one named Tank sits down at another table and pulls out his phone.
I can see the four guys, the ones he called prospects, over at a third table, eyeing me.
They’re looking me up and down like a pack of starving lions and I’m their next meal.
“Eyes off my niece assholes, or I’ll kill you. I’m sure her men would love to help.” Rico’s voice raises, and the ones at his table burst out laughing.
I’ve seen Rico put fear into men he knows, but never someone he doesn’t. I have a whole new level of respect for him.
“God, I’ve missed ya man. Sure you don’t want to come back? You’re welcome to join the Hellions or just be a supporter of the club.” Sam slaps him on the back as I set the glasses and whiskey on the table.
Rico glances up and smiles as his eyes lock on me, they soften.
“So Sam. I’ve never known you to bring a woman in on one of your jobs,” Rico states as he pours the brown liquid into the glasses.
“Well, she’s my woman and when she overheard—” The one called Bash rolls his eyes—“she thought she could help out. She’s had her own troubles and well, she just so happens to have danced in our clubs.
We knew she wouldn’t be an exact match, but you said Sierra wears a costume, Arizona felt she could swap out for her.
But lookin’ at them now, I’m thinkin’ it may be obvious they’re not the same.
Maybe a two for one special. I think that part of the plan could still work.
” The others at the table nod and Arizona bumps my shoulders.
“Tell me, Sierra, do you like dancing?” Arizona spins on the chair, facing me. I know she’s trying to distract me from what they’re talking about.
“No, but it pays the rent and keeps food on the table for me and Sam.”
“That’s your sister. Right?”
“Yeah.” I pull my phone from my pocket and show her some pictures. “Do you have kids?”
“Not yet, but I’m a badass aunt. I’m practicing all my skills with him. My men, though? They’re ready to knock me up. We’ve been trying, but no luck yet.” Her face drops a little, and she glances at Bash.
“I’ve heard it happens when you least expect it. Wait, did you say men?”
“Yep, four to be exact. But if I heard your uncle right, you have your own men as well.”
“Yeah, we’re still new. Three for sure, but I’m undecided about the fourth. He hated me at the beginning and believed all the lies my ex best friend Wesley was spreading around school. But he’s been trying to show me he’s sorry.”
She smiles sweetly, taking my hand in hers.
“There’s always one of them, Sierra. Just know that our kind of relationships are special and take a lot of work and molding to make them succeed.
Communication, which I’m sure you know, is key to that.
My bestie also has a dynamic like us. Those are two of her men over there.
” She points to the two younger ones at the table, who are deep in conversation with Rico and the older men.
“How does it work with children? I know he said he’s the dad. Is he really?”
“Slow down. Back to what we were talking about and then I’ll answer that.
Assholes, there’s always one in the group, sometimes more, but always one.
At least in my experience. Mine was the man sitting there.
He was hung up on our age difference and sharing.
It takes some a while to grasp the idea.
I didn’t give up on him, though. And look at us now. ”
“Was he mean to you, though?” I ask.
“In the beginning, yes. But I learned people change. If he’s trying to make amends, give him the chance, and don’t hold anger from the past in your heart.
You’ll never be able to move forward if you do.
Now for the kids, all the men are called some form of dad.
For them, she wanted to give each their own child so they know who the biological father is, but it’s only for paper.
Some don’t want to know and just have kids. ”
“What are you going to do? Do you want to know who the bio dad is?”
“I haven’t really thought about it. We’re just busy having fun practicing.” She winks and I giggle.
“Sierra, Arizona,” Rico calls, waving us over.
“New plan. Bash is going to hack into the police mainframe. If the scumbag hasn’t been charged, we’re going to schedule the private dance.
But since there is a size and build difference between you two—” Rico clears his throat and I smirk—“we are going to let him know if our ladies go to an outside location, it’s as a pair only.
Once we get the address from him, we’re going to stake it out and then let’s just say he’s going to disappear. ”
“What if there’s other people there?”
“That’s why we’re going to know all the ins and outs of the location and if anyone else is going to show up. Don’t worry, Sierra, we will protect you the entire time. Both of you.”
“Then what?”
“That part is need-to-know only. But don’t worry, it will be over after we’re done with him, and nothing will fall back on you. You’re not stepping foot into a court to testify against him or worry about him being back on the street someday to come looking for retribution against you. I promise.”
I step over to Rico and wrap my arms around his neck. I’m so glad he’s in my life now. I just wish I had him years ago. Maybe I would never have been subjected to Aunt Sarah’s abuse, and Sam and I could still be together. That’s if he would want Sam.
Would he? I’m sure he would.
“Grab your things. Cyrus just got here and is outside waiting for you. We have some more details to handle here,” Rico tells me as he types something into his phone.
I kiss him on the cheek. “Thank you.”
Stepping over to the bar, I pick up my bag, and Arizona stops me.
“Hand me your phone.” I hold it out and she takes it from me, typing something in. “Now you have my number and my bestie, Ash. I even started a group chat. You got any questions about how to handle things in your relationship or just want to talk, text us. We harem sisters have to stick together.”
I smile, knowing I have someone to talk to now about this.
“Thank you, and I will.”
I leave the club, my steps a little lighter. Mr. Johnson is going to be dealt with. I’m not going to be testifying. And she’s given me a lot to think about, regarding Colton and Wesley. But in different ways.
It’s time to let the past go.
