Chapter forty-five

Cyrus drops me off into the waiting arms of Braxton.

Guess he’s up tonight for a date. They didn’t tell me the order, or if they did, I don’t remember.

He looks so cute sitting on the bottom step of the stairs inside my apartment building, a book in his lap and two coffees waiting at his side.

Thankfully, they’re ice, otherwise I’m sure they wouldn’t still be hot.

“I’ll be back later. I’m going to work at the club for a little while. Have fun, you two.” I punch him in the chest playfully, just before he kisses me.

He heads toward the door and I immediately miss him. My eyes follow his ass as he goes, loving how his glutes flex with each step.

When I turn back to look at Braxton, his face is red as he runs his fingers through his long locks of hair. It’s grown since that first day I saw him in the shoe store. It seems like an eternity ago, even though it hasn’t been that long.

“Can I carry your bag?” Braxton asks as he hands me a coffee.

“Thank you, and sure, if you want. What are you wanting to do tonight?”

“Anything you want. I don’t have the Jeep. Colton is going to come back and pick me up in a few hours. If you want to go somewhere, I can get an Uber, though.” Fuck, he’s so sweet. He takes my bag and slips the strap over his shoulder.

“I’m fine with staying in. It’s been a long day.”

“How did it go? I still can’t fucking believe it. Wesley wasn’t at school either today. Did you see him at the police station?”

I shake my head. I have no words, still too pissed over what Wesley did. But we are going to have a talk about it.

Not tonight, though. Tonight is for Braxton. It’s our date night. A girl could get used to a date every night with a different man.

We trudge up the stairs instead of using the elevator. When he hesitantly reaches out and takes my hand in his, it makes me happy. The warmth sends a flutter through my body, and I smile at his sweaty palms.

We don’t say anything, but we don’t need to. The silence is comfortable.

He doesn’t let go of my hand when we step onto the landing for my floor, or as we walk down the hallway. It’s only when we reach my door that he lets go, then wipes his sweaty palms on his jeans.

Too fucking cute.

Sticking my key into the lock, I open it and step inside with Braxton behind me. I set my bag on the floor by the door. I didn’t go to school today so I don’t have homework.

“Do you have to do anything for school?” I ask.

“Nope, I did it while I waited for you. But I thought maybe we could order some pizza and talk about our relationship. If you don’t want to, then we can wait. I know today was hard.” He sits down on the couch, bending over and untying his shoes.

I sit down beside him, slide my sandals off and pull my legs up. Propping my head up in my hand on the arm of the couch, I look at him.

“You wanted to talk about us?” I ask nervously.

“Yeah… I… Well… Shit, this is hard.” He stumbles over his words and I find it amusing.

“I know. But we can do it. Just breathe. Trust me, of all the conversations I’ve had today, this will be the easiest.”

“Okay. Zan didn’t tell me all the specifics of your date, if you’re wondering.

He did mention us all going to get tested and I’m going to get scheduled for it.

I actually asked Dad to do it today. He’s always been supportive of us when it comes to stuff like that, always wanting us to make mature decisions. ”

“Thank you. I plan to as well, but just as I told Zander, I’ve only been with Cyrus. Well, other than…” I motion with my hands, knowing I don’t have to mention his name.

“I know. Please don’t think I was implying anything. It’s just I like the way our relationship is building and if it’s a while before we do more physical things, then I’m okay with it. There’s no rush.”

I take a deep breath before blowing it out slowly, thinking about what I want to say. I don’t want to fumble over my words or have them come out wrong.

“Braxton, thank you for saying that. I want everything to happen naturally. If that’s having sex tomorrow, then so be it. If it’s a year from now, then that’s okay as well. But if you’re okay with it, I would like to kiss you.”

He scoots closer as his eyes twinkle and the corners of his lips turn up.

“I’d love nothing more, but only if you want to.”

He’s going to be the death of me. He’s had a hold on me since the first time I laid eyes on him with the way he had Sam laughing.

I knew he was different. Then school happened, and for a brief moment I thought I was wrong.

But just like a snake, he slithered his way back into my heart and once there he established residence.

I move closer to him, taking his head in my hands as I kiss him.

I moan into his mouth and he swallows it, pressing his lips harder to mine. His tongue glides along mine smoothly. Our breathing becomes ragged and I crawl into his lap, straddling him.

I grind my core against his crotch, rocking on it, each movement sending tingles of electricity through me as my clit hits it.

“That’s it, baby, use me to get off. Rub your pussy on me,” he groans, gripping my hips.

Is this even me? When did I become this sexual being? I don’t know, but I’m loving who I’m becoming.

“Fuck, Braxton, it feels so good,” I whimper, feeling the pressure building in my core, and I close my eyes as my head falls backward. When I can’t hold it any longer, my orgasm explodes, taking over me as my pussy pulsates.

“Shit, baby, you look beautiful coming. I can’t wait to have my cock buried deep inside of you.”

Once I’ve regained my senses, I look at his face, then quickly climb off his lap, noticing the damp spot and the very large bulge under it. Embarrassment washes over me at seeing the wet spot.

“Fuck, I’m an idiot. I’m so sorry I didn't mean for that to happen,” he pleads.

“No, it’s not you, or what we did. It’s just when I dance, I’m forward with men, doing what I need, flirting to get tips. But this with you is new to me. I wasn’t expecting to react like that while kissing you, but I did, and I liked it.”

He reaches out, the tips of his fingers gliding across the side of my face.

“I love that you reacted like that. Never be embarrassed about anything that happens with us.” He looks down at his hard cock and smiles.

“You see what you do to me? This right here should tell you I’m enjoying every minute.

” He slides my hair behind my ear, then takes hold of my chin and pulls me into a sweet kiss.

“This is so crazy,” I whisper when we pull apart. “I never imagined myself in a relationship with one guy, not for a long time anyway, now I have four.” His eyes go wide at the number four, but he doesn’t say anything.

“I never thought I’d be sharing my girl, but I am and I couldn’t be happier.

I’m sure we’ll hit some bumps along the way, but I know we can handle them.

” He takes my hands in his, holding them in his lap.

His eyes brighten, and his brows arch up as a grin stretches across his face. “I might have some good news for you.”

“You do? What is it?”

“I overheard Dad and John talking last night. Sam has an appointment with a psychologist tomorrow to determine if you did anything to her. If his report comes back good, then you can see her.”

I leap at him, wrapping my arms around his neck as the tears start streaming down my face. This is the best news he could ever tell me.

I’m going to be able to see my sister soon. To hold her tight against me, feeling her heartbeat as she begs me to let her go. I’ll be able to squeeze her chubby little cheeks and see her roll her eyes.

I take a deep breath, putting a stop to my thoughts. I don’t want to get my hopes up. Who knows how this doctor will spin the words she tells him.

No, I can’t think like that. I need to stay positive. My sister and I are going to see each other soon, then I’ll be one step closer to getting her back home where she belongs.

“Don’t say anything. We aren’t supposed to know, so you can’t let anything slip. I just happened to be a nosy bastard and when I heard it, I had to stay and listen. My fucking back was sore as hell from where I was kneeling behind the plant.”

I sit back and start laughing, holding my belly. I can only imagine how he must have looked. I’m not sure how big the plant was, but he’s not a little guy. Sam, now she wouldn’t have had a problem since she’s so tiny.

“You’ve just given me the best news I’ve had in days. Thank you and I promise mum’s the word.” I mime zipping my lips and throwing away the key.

“Okay, let’s talk pizza so we can eat and get back to making out.” He winks as he picks his phone up from the table and scoots closer to me.

My heart flutters when I see the screen on his phone and it’s a picture of me. It’s one I’ve never seen before. I’m sitting at my desk, the tip of a pen in my mouth, and I’m staring off into the distance.

When did he take this?

Before I can ask, he answers.

“Zander took it of you one day in class, and well, I had him send it to me. I’ve had it on my phone since then.

But I want to exchange it with a new one.

” He opens up the camera and moves his body flush against mine, putting his arm over my shoulder.

He holds the phone out, showing both of us on the screen.

“Smile,” he instructs just before he clicks the button.

But that’s not enough. I turn my head at the same time he does and we kiss.

“Now you have two,” I say breathlessly.

“Yep, but I can’t decide which one I want to use. Maybe I can do both, one for my laptop and one for my phone. Decisions, decisions. Now, back to the pizza.” He opens the browser on his phone and picks a pizza place near us that delivers. “What do you want?”

“You.” I mean it with all my heart. “But if you’re talking about pizza, anything is fine, just no stinking anchovies,” I say, causing him to laugh.
