Chapter 12

The jersey felt stupid.

It was black and gold and tight as hell across my chest with the fake team name stretched over my stomach. Shoulder pads under it. Black game pants. Cleats on and black paint under my eyes because Wolf said I was “committed to the bit or I wasn’t invited.”

“Just wear what she can grab,” Steph had texted Sevyn, which ended up on my phone somehow.

I checked myself in the mirror one more time.

I looked like a real player.

Which was ironic as hell, because I was only now planning on actually playing for the first time.

It had been two days since SeaWorld and the driveway bomb. Three weeks of group calls with Kasey and Sevyn, kid logistics, and all the small ways our lives started braiding together.

Three weeks of me learning her body like a system update.

I’d gotten comfortable now with my mouth on every part of her body. I knew the way her hips moved when she was ready to cum and how her back arched when I pinched her nipples just right.

I knew how to pull an orgasm out of her from touch alone now.

Every time, the question sat heavier in my chest.

When?

When was I going to stop being scared and just ask for what we both knew was coming?

When I picked up my keys, the answer felt a little closer.

Sevyn opened her front door and my dick twitched at the sight. The referee dress hugged her like it was custom.

A whistle hung between her breasts on a little black cord.

“You clean up nice, Batman,” she said, eyes dragging slowly over the jersey, down my legs, back up.

“You…uh…” Words failed for a second. “You look good.”

Understatement of the year.

She smirked.

She stepped closer, fingers brushing the fake numbers on my chest. “Football player, huh?”

“You said I needed a costume,” I said. “This was the simplest.”

“I like it,” she murmured. Her hand slid down my stomach, over the elastic of the pants with just enough pressure to make my dick twitch again. Her eyes flicked up, catching the way my jaw tightened. “A lot.”

I cleared my throat, forcing my body to behave. “You ready?”

“As I’ll ever be.” She lifted her little crossbody bag. “You got the weed?”

“Yes.”

“Then we good,” she said.

The party was packed. Wolf had rented out half a warehouse, lights low, smoke machines going, DJ actually decent for once. Costumes everywhere. Angels, devils, a man dressed as a giant blunt for some reason.

The second we stepped inside together, heads turned.

Phones too.

I felt the weight of eyes immediately—frat brothers, old classmates, random women but Sevyn’s hand slipped into mine casually.

“Relax,” she said under the music. “You look like you calculating escape routes.”

“I am,” I admitted.

“Escape later,” she said. “We having fun first.”

She dragged me toward the bar. We got drinks then she did a little spin for Steph when we found her. Wolf made some loud comment about me finally “joining society.” Everybody else faded into the background when Sevyn pulled me to the edge of the dance floor.

“Footwork, Batman,” she said, setting her cup on a nearby ledge. “Don’t embarrass me.”

“I don’t dance,” I said.

“You finna dance tonight,” she replied, already turning so her back was to my chest, hips finding the rhythm like it was built in.

The bass thumped. Lights strobed. She moved slow at first, testing to see if I’d move with her or lock up.

I put my hands on her waist, fingers curling around the little stripes.

She smiled over her shoulder when I rolled my hips in time with hers.

“There it go,” she teased. “You got some rhythm .”

“I’ve always had rhythm,” I said.

She laughed and dropped a little lower, and my grip tightened automatically, the jersey starting to feel too hot.

At some point, the whistle hit my chin when she turned her head and I bit it softly just to see her reaction.

She shivered.

“Don’t do that,” she murmured.

“Why,” I asked near her ear.

“Because you know why,” she shot back.

We broke for air long enough to hit the patio.

The night air felt cooler against my overheated skin. Sevyn hopped up onto the low brick wall, dress riding up another dangerous inch. I sparked the blunt, took a slow hit, then passed it to her.

She leaned in instead, lips brushing mine as she inhaled with her eyes half-closed.

She exhaled to the side, then turned back and kissed me properly.

Her fingers slid into my locs at the nape of my neck. My hands framed her thighs lightly, thumbs stroking the warm skin above her socks.

She tasted like smoke, fruit, and lip gloss.

Every time I kissed her now, it felt a little deeper, a little more sure. The last three weeks had softened all the hardness between us. There was nothing tentative in how she touched me tonight.

“You good?” she asked quietly when we broke for breath.

“Yeah,” I said. “You?”

Her eyes searched mine. “Yeah.”

The way she said it told me she knew what I wasn’t saying.

Later.

Her phone buzzed. She glanced at it.

KASEY:

girls sleep, we good. Have fun, but not TOO much fun

Sevyn smiled, typed back quickly, then slid the phone into her bag.

“Wanna stay or go?” she asked.

“Your call.”

She hopped down from the wall, landing close enough that our costumes brushed.

“Let’s go,” she said. “Before I start sweating my edges off.”

My apartment felt quieter than usual when we walked in. We moved around each other easily—shoes off, drinks in the sink, TV on low background just so the silence wasn’t heavy.

“You want the shower first?” I asked.

“You go,” she said. “I need to take this makeup off before I look like a raccoon.”

We split off—her into the guest bathroom, me into mine.

Under the hot water, I leaned my head against the tile and exhaled.

I thought about the way she’d looked in that dress, the way she’d moved against me, the way her mouth had felt around my tongue on the patio.

My dick twitched.

I turned the water a little cooler.

Not now, I thought.

I dried off and pulled on soft black shorts.

By the time I walked into the bedroom, she was already there.

Sevyn sat against my headboard with her legs stretched out. The dress was gone, replaced by one of my hoodies hanging off one shoulder. Bare legs. No socks. Her curls were looser, her makeup mostly gone except for her lashes and gloss.

Her eyes did a slow sweep over me as I stepped inside.

“C’mere,” she said softly, tapping the space beside her.

My pulse jump.

I crossed the room and climbed onto the bed, sitting where she indicated, back resting lightly against the headboard too. She didn’t say anything at first, she reached up and slid her hand along my jaw, turning my face toward hers.

Then she kissed me.

Not the soft, exploratory kiss from the patio. This one was hungry.

Her mouth opened under mine, tongue sliding against mine, making my brain fritz out. Her hand on my jaw tightened, guiding the angle, deepening it.

She sucked my tongue into her mouth, slowly.

I groaned before I could stop it, hand landing on her thigh, fingers digging into the warm skin. She smiled into the kiss like she liked hearing me lose composure.

Without breaking it, she shifted—one knee bending, sliding over my thigh. I felt the bare heat of her pussy brush my skin.

No panties.

My self-control took a hit.

She settled half-across my lap, still kissing me, still teasing my tongue with hers. Her breathing picked up, a soft little sound falling out when she moved her hips just a fraction.

I realized then that the hand braced on her thigh wasn’t her only movement.

Her other hand had slipped between her legs.

I couldn’t see exactly what she was doing, but I knew. The way her mouth stuttered against mine. The way her body rolled slowly. The faint sound of skin on skin under the blanket.

I pulled back just enough to look at her.

Her pupils were blown wide, lips wet and swollen, hoodie slipped further off one shoulder. Two fingers moved in slow circles against her clit, unhurried. Her hips rocked into her own touch in a small, rhythmic pulse.

“You teasing me?” I asked, voice rough.

“I’m getting myself ready,” she breathed. “For you.”

“Sevyn,” I said quietly.

“Hm?”

“I’m ready.”

Her hand paused. “For what?”

“For all of it,” I said. “With you.”

She held my gaze, searching. “You sure?” she asked. “We don’t have to rush it, Kasen. I told you that from the start. I’m not going anywhere.”

“I know,” I said. “It’s not about rushing. I’ve just been…waiting on when it felt right. It feels right now.”

Her eyes softened in a way that made my chest ache.

“Okay,” she whispered. “Then we’ll do it on your terms.”

She tilted her head slightly. “Come out those shorts for me.”

My dick was already pressing hard against the fabric. I swallowed, nodded, slid off the bed long enough to push them down and step out. The air felt cool against suddenly exposed skin.

When I climbed back onto the mattress, Sevyn had pushed the hoodie up just enough that I could see her thighs. Her fingers were still resting loosely between her legs, glistening.

She watched my face, not my body.

“C’mere,” she said again, voice low.

I moved closer.

“Remember what I told you before?” she asked. “About taking your time?”

“Yes.”

“Same rules apply,” she said. “There’s no clock on this. No right or wrong way. We figure it out together.”

That helped.

More than I expected.

She slid her hand down, parting herself with two fingers, a quiet invitation.

“Come here,” she murmured, breath catching slightly. “Slow.”

I inched forward until I was between her thighs, braced on my hands so I wasn’t putting full weight on her. The sight of her pussy wet and open like that, waiting for me, made my vision blur for a second.

“You so pretty,” I heard myself say, the words rough around the edges.

Her breath shuddered. “You keep saying that and I’m gonna fall in love with you by accident,” she whispered.

I didn’t answer that.

She reached down and wrapped her hand lightly around me, fingers barely closing around my dick, just enough to guide. I felt the warmth of her palm against me and my jaw went tight.

“Remember,” she said, eyes never leaving mine. “Slow.”

I nodded.

Sevyn dragged the tip through her pussy once, coating me in her wetness, and the sound that came out of my throat wasn’t voluntary.

She positioned me at her entrance. The concentrated heat there was different from her palm.

“Now,” she whispered. “Just…push in a little. Breathe.”

I exhaled and started to sink into her.

The sensation was instant, overwhelming. Her body stretched to take me in, tight and warm and soft all at once, nothing like my imagination, nothing like my own hand. My grip on the comforter tightened until my knuckles ached.

“Good?” she asked, voice a little breathless.

“Yeah,” I managed. “Fuck.”

She smiled, thumb brushing my cheekbone. “Keep going. Nice and easy.”

I pushed deeper, slow, feeling every inch of her close around me. My arms shook with the effort of holding back the instinct to drive forward, to chase the pressure building at the base of my spine, but her hand on my hip and her voice in my ear kept my pace steady.

“Just like that,” she murmured. “You’re doing perfect.”

When I finally sank all the way in, hips flush against hers, the fullness of it made us both go still. I could feel her pulse around me, a soft rhythmic squeeze, her puss adjusting to the stretch. She exhaled through her nose, long and slow, her thighs relaxing against my sides.

I’d never felt closer to anyone in my life.

We stayed still for a beat, letting our bodies adjust.

“Okay?” I asked, needing to know.

“Yes,” she said. “You feel…so good, Kasen.”

Pride and relief hit me at the same time.

“Now?” I asked.

“Now you move,” she said softly. “Slowly like you doing with your fingers before. Find your rhythm.”

I pulled back a little, then eased forward again.

Her mouth parted.

“Yesss,” she breathed. “That. Exactly that.”

I kept my eyes on her, watching every little twitch, every tiny change in her face. The way her lashes fluttered when I hit a spot she liked. The way her nails dug lightly into my shoulders when the angle changed.

I found a pace, each stroke pulling almost all the way out before easing back in. The wet sound of it, the heat, the way she moaned on every forward push—my brain was barely functioning.

She cupped my face briefly, guiding my mouth back to hers.

We kissed while I moved inside her, slow and learning, bodies finding a language between us. She moaned softly into my mouth when I pressed deep and held there for a beat before pulling back again.

“You’re okay,” she whispered against my lips when she felt me tense. “You’re doing so good, Batman. I’m right here.”

I lasted maybe thirty seconds.

The pressure had been building since the first thrust. I felt it gathering at the base of my spine, tightening low in my stomach, my thighs going rigid. I tried to breathe through it, tried to count, tried anything.

“Sev—” I choked out, panic flashing. “I’m?—”

“It’s okay,” she said quickly. “It’s okay. Don’t hold it.”

Her permission broke the last of my restraint.

I groaned, burying my face in her neck as my body surged, everything emptying in a rush that left me lightheaded.

She held onto me through it, hand stroking the back of my neck, legs wrapped snug around my waist.

When it finally ebbed, embarrassment hit hard and hot.

I pulled back just enough to look at her, shame crawling up my spine.

“I’m sorry,” I muttered. “I?—”

“Don’t,” she said firmly, cutting me off. “We’re not apologizing for first times in this house.”

“I didn’t?—”

“You weren’t supposed to,” she said. “Not on the first time. I didn’t expect you to last long, Kasen. That’s literally not how this works.”

My throat stayed tight.

She cupped my face in both hands, forcing my eyes to stay on hers.

“Look at me,” she said. “You did good. You listened. You made sure I was okay. That matters more to me than any timer.”

“I wanted to make you feel good,” I said quietly. “Like that.”

“You did,” she said. “And you can again. And again. We got time to get it right, Batman. I’m not grading you on round one.”

The nickname, soft on her lips, eased some of the embarrassment.

I exhaled slowly.

“Okay?” she asked.

“Yeah,” I said, finally believing it. “Okay.”

She smiled, thumb brushing my bottom lip.

“Good,” she said. “Now drink some water…and then come back up here. We got plenty more practice if you want it.”
