Chapter 2 Transferring to Private High School
I transferred to the best private high school in the city.
Under Old Master Chi's arrangement, Chi Jin and I became desk mates.
Old Master Chi asked Chi Jin to take care of me like a brother.
I sighed quietly.
As long as Chi Jin didn't cause me trouble, it was fine.
On the first day of school, right after dismissal.
I was blocked by the school bullies.
Their smiles were mean.
"I heard you are the Chi family's child bride?"
"You have a lot of pocket money, don't you?"
The boys laughed.
Their expressions and tones were obvious contempt.
Because I had farmed with Grandpa for years.
I was just skinny, but strong.
As a newcomer, I didn't want to cause trouble.
I pursed my lips: "I don't have money."
The young masters here didn't lack money.
They just enjoyed bullying the weak.
Seeing I didn't cooperate, one boy pushed me against the wall.
"You are lying? The Chi family is so rich, how could they withhold your pocket money?"
The others surrounded me.
My palms were sweaty.
I said: "Because I am not Chi Jin's child bride, I have nothing to do with him."
Since Chi Jin didn't want anything to do with me, I said it clearly.
The bullies didn't believe it.
I took out my empty pockets: "Search me."
The leader sneered.
He lifted my long hair.
"You are so country and rustic..."
Before he finished, the person in front froze.
There were gasps around.
I frowned and avoided the hand.
"If it's nothing, can I leave?"
He was stunned: "No."
I looked confused.
He said: "My name is He Nan Hang, Class Two, Grade Three.
"No protection money, but you have to be at my service whenever I call."
I frowned unconsciously.
Grandpa's wish was for me to get into a good university.
I couldn't keep up with the progress after transferring from the countryside.
If I didn't hurry...
I stared at He Nan Hang's jaw.
I said softly: "I have to study."
He Nan Hang was silent: "I won't bother you often."
I thought: "Okay then."
After exchanging contacts, I sighed in relief.
Not long after turning the corner at the stairs.
Chi Jin stood with hands in pockets, looking at me coldly.
I opened my mouth: "You saw it all?"
Chi Jin glanced at me and walked toward the school gate.
I pursed my lips and followed.
The wind blew Chi Jin's white shirt.
I lowered my head, carefully avoiding his shadow.
