Chapter 21
Chapter Twenty-One
The evening turned out wonderfully. After Sway and Lottie had a much-needed hug and a quick cry, the conversation remained fun and light with lots of laughs.
Even a few stories that should never be told again.
Lottie didn’t miss the mean mug looks Vicious and Razor continued to give one another. She simply chose to ignore them.
As the table was cleared, the conversation came around to Lottie as Teller asked how she was enjoying working at the clinic. Hearing Teller, Razor turned his attention from Truck, who he’d been speaking to. He was interested in how Lottie would answer Teller’s question.
Lottie leaned on her elbow resting her chin in her hand as everyone turned their attention towards her. Normally, she loved being the center of attention, but with a dozen bikers staring at her, she suddenly felt like being under a microscope. It wasn’t a feeling she liked.
Dropping her free hand to Razor’s thigh, needing an anchor, she smiled at Teller. “I find it challenging and rather enjoy the pressure that comes with the job.” Sounded good to her.
“So, what I’m hearing is you find working under Razor a challenge, but the pressure is pleasurable?”
“Honestly, Teller, I haven’t had the pleasure of working underneath him yet.”
The table erupted in laughter at her comment. Cutting a glance at Razor, Lottie gave him a wink. Her reward was a wicked smile from the always-in-control man.
Razor leaned back, draping his arm across the back of Lottie’s chair.
His fingers drawing slow, small circles at the base of her neck.
Her hand innocently touching his thigh had him wanting to drag her into his lap so he could plunder her mouth with his.
He couldn’t help but smile as everyone laughed and ribbed him about dropping the ball with his head nurse.
“Damn, Razor, I thought you knew how to play doctor.” Teller joked from his seat at the other end of the table.
“Oh, I know how to handle a patient like Miss McDaniels,” Razor told Teller with a hint of fire in his eyes.
Slowly he looked at her, and Lottie gave him a teasing smirk.
He stared into those bright green eyes of hers, as the heat from her hand had him making his move.
He leaned in keeping her eyes locked on his.
His free hand slid up her throat and he could feel her pulse quicken as he tugged her chair around.
He almost laughed when she squealed. Keeping his composure, he descended on her, pressing his mouth firmly against hers.
Swiping his tongue against the seam of her lips, he felt Lottie lean deeper into him as her lips parted. Razor deepened the kiss with the intention of leaving her speechless. The first low moan was his reward.
Someone clearing their throat interrupted the moment. Breaking the kiss, Razor leaned back, keeping his eyes on Lottie. “I think this patient needs a private appointment with the doctor.”
Lottie ran a finger over her lips as if the kiss was nothing more than a peck. Her trembling thighs said it was much, much more. “I’ll have to check my schedule. I’m not sure I’m due for an exam for another six months.”
The laughter kept coming as the one-liners continued between the group. But the center of it all was Lottie and Razor.
Changing the subject from playing doctor to something more innocent, like taking a ride on his bike, Lottie gave him a coy smile. “So, Razor, what do you think? Would you want to take me for a ride on that hog of yours?” She realized too late what she’d said as the table roared with laughter.
Oh, he wanted her to ride his hog alright. Probably not the one she was talking about, he thought. “I think getting you on my hog would be a ride you wouldn’t want to end.” Razor was enjoying the banter between him and Lottie.
“You’d be surprised how long I can last on a pleasure cruise,” she retorted with a laugh.
“How about a weekend run?” Truck suggested breaking Razor’s concentration.
“Wait. What?” Razor asked, he was still thinking about getting Lottie on his hog and not his bike.
Teller couldn’t agree more. The chapter could use something to take their minds off the past months. “That’s a great idea. We haven’t had a trip in a while. The weather’s been nice. We can see who’s available and take a few days to relax and have some fun.”
Everyone agreed that a weekend run was much needed. Pushing back from the table, Teller reminded everyone it was back to business in the morning as he walked out flanked by Double-tap and Blackjack.
As everyone exited the restaurant, Razor kept Lottie by his side. As everyone hugged and said their good nights, he asked if she needed a ride.
“Do you need a ride home?”
“That would be great. I took an Uber over in case I drank.”
“My car’s right over here.”
Vicious kept Sway under the protection of his arm as they walked towards their car.
Putting her in, he shut the car door and stepped around the back of the car to climb in on the driver’s side.
Closing the door he looked at his beautiful wife.
“Are you okay? Did you talk to Lottie about everything?”
“Yes, and I think we’re going to be good.”
Sway caught sight of Razor and Lottie walking towards his car. Smiling, she pointed to the couple. “You know that those two together will be atomic.”
“I’m banking on it. Razor needs something to shake him up.”
“I hope they know what they’re doing.”
“Oh, babe, I think they’re both well aware of what they’re doing.”
They sat waiting for Razor and Lottie to drive by. When they did, the couple looked like they were in a deep conversation. Vicious thought his wife might be on to something. Atomic. What a great way to explain Lottie and Razor together.
