Chapter 4 #2

“The younger ones are easily influenced and too young to understand, but do you really think Aspen and Aneesah will be receptive to that girl after what she did to you?! I can tell you now that all of three of us have talked shit about her together, so I know they won’t be fucking with her like that.

What are you going to do? Stop talking to them and not let them be around their niece? !”

“Mannn, my sisters already know what’s up because I talk to them. I sent the DNA results to them first. Aspen already hit Lourdes up to let her know that she wants to be involved with everything despite whatever me and her have going on. You can learn a lot from your daughter.”

“Well did she have to apologize?”

“For what?! Because you claim y’all have been talking shit?

At the end of the day, I don’t care what’s been said in private.

I made the mistake of running my mouth to y’all because I was hurt, so y’all feeling some type of way and discussing it was a natural reaction.

But you should’ve never carried that shit to the internet. ”

“Sorry, but I gotta clear me and Aspen’s name,” Aneesah stepped into the kitchen.

She was probably by the door listening the entire time.

“We did say Lourdes was wrong for lying to you about her living situation, but we’ve never dragged for her.

That’s why we still follow each other on instagram.

There’s no beef or anything for us to apologize for. ”

“Aneesah, who asked you to come in here?” Rahesha snarled.

“You brought her name into it,” I snapped. “You were trying to create a certain narrative, but I wasn’t believing that shit no way.”

“I wasn’t trying to create nothing. I just wrongly assumed your sisters would be fiercely loyal to you because that’s how I raised y’all.”

“We are loyal to him. That’s why we want to be cool with his baby mama, so we can be heavily involved with our first niece.”

“You don’t gotta be fake with his baby mama to do that!”

“Who’s being fake?” Aneesah’s eyes danced around. “We’ve always liked Lourdes. We fell back from her because she did something weird to our brother. I’m not changing my tune on her being wrong about that. But her being pregnant with our niece trumps that petty issue they had.”

“Petty?! Yea, you still wet behind the ears if you think that was something slight.” A broken clock was right twice a day because Rahesha was correct about that.

What Lourdes did was far from a petty issue.

She straight up lied to my face multiple times.

Not only that, but she jumped through hoops to keep up with the lie. That shit was scary.

“Obviously lying is never okay, but everybody has done it before,” Aneesah rolled her eyes. “She’s not a spawn of Satan because she was still living with her ex.”

“And you’re green if you think it’s as simple as that. She was obviously still with that man and Armias was the side nigga.”

“Maybe I am green, but I’m also rational enough to look at this through an objective lens unlike you.

Nothing about that situation gave that Lourdes had a man and that Bubby was her side piece.

She was with him and around us 24/7. She would take pictures and do Tik Toks with us that she allowed us to post. The icing on the cake is her being pregnant and it wasn’t a question on her end who the father was. ”

“Of course she’d immediately pin the baby on Armias.”

“I admit, it was questionable for me at first too, but DNA results shut all that down. She didn’t pin a baby on Bubby.

She simply knew he was the father because there was never another option.

I think if she was unsure she would’ve waited until after the baby was born to call Bubby.

That leads me to believe that she was really just sharing a space with someone who really was her ex.

Because if he was her man there’s no way they were living together and not doing the do. ”

Although I already knew for sure that Lourdes was carrying my baby, my sister had given me a whole new perspective on it.

I hadn’t connected the positive paternity test to the shit that had happened with her ex.

But I guess it did give some validity to Lourdes' claims of Kenny merely being an ex she shared a lease with. That still didn’t change the fact that she’d lied about it though.

“Girl, take your young ass on somewhere,” Rahesha hissed.

“Will do. My chicken caesar salad is waiting on me anyway,” she smirked, before turning away and making her exit.

“I’m finna head out, too.”

“Don’t you think we have more to talk about?”

“No, I don’t,” I chuckled. “I came here to tell you that Lourdes is pregnant and that if you have any desire to be involved then you’ll have to apologize. I’ve said that already and I’m not about to keep going back and forth about it.”

“Look, I’m not above apologizing for my shady posts on Facebook. I didn’t think it was that deep, but if it hurt her that bad then I can say sorry,” she rolled her eyes.

“Not like that you won’t. That condescending shit not gon’ work. You need to genuinely apologize.”

“I can as long as she’s receptive and willing to make things work with me.”

“That’s where you’re wrong. You’re apologizing because you’re wrong.

She doesn’t have to be receptive right away or if ever if that’s how she feels.

I damn sure wouldn’t forgive somebody just because they said sorry.

It would take time and changed behavior to make me move.

That weird, competition shit you be on with her gotta come to an end.

My baby comes first in my life and Lourdes is a part of that. ”

“Armias, please…you just love that girl’s dirty drawers. I ain’t never seen a nigga uphold his baby mama this much, so stop trying to make this about my grand-daaughter.”

“Did my daddy not uphold you and put you first?”

For once, she didn’t have a quick response. She only crossed her arms and pouted.

“Yea, I got you there. And so what if I do love my baby mama. There’s nothing wrong with that.”

“Boy whatever,” she grumbled. “You think she can braid Zee’s hair some time this weekend?”

“You don’t even have to worry about that. You need to be thinking about when and how you’re going to apologize to Lourdes and her mama.”

“Her mama?!”

“Yea. You know you’re friends with that lady on Facebook and you got the nerve to be talking shit about her daughter on there. She wants your head behind that and I’ve been trying to get her to spare you, but you need to handle that because the clock is ticking.”

“I wish somebody would touch me,” she huffed. “But I’ll reach out and apologize cause I’m too grown for all this drama.”

“Yea, alright,” I chuckled, sensing fear all too well. That was classic Rahesha. Had all the mouth in the world but wouldn’t burst a grape in a fruit fight. “All I want is for us to be one big happy family and I don’t want to keep you away…so don’t force my hand.”
