Epilogue #2

“Mommy, let me talk to Lourdy and Louri!”

“Is that my baby Zee?” I asked excitedly. I could see that Rahesha was in a car, but I didn’t know the kids were with her because they’d been quiet up until that point.

“Yes! It’s me, Lourdy!”

“I’m in the car, too, Lourdy!” Milan exclaimed.

“Me too!” Phoenix shouted.

“Me three!” Icelynn joined in.

“Where y’all going?” I giggled. Another major difference I spotted in Rahesha is that she’d been making it a point to do things with her younger kids. She used to have a bad habit of sitting around until Armias wanted to do something with them.

“We’re going out to eat. I didn’t feel like cooking tonight.”

“I don’t blame you,” I giggled. “I wish y’all were here.”

I really wanted her younger kids here because they were my babies.

Their energy was infectious and they kept me laughing on days where I just wanted to cry and stick my head in the mud.

It had just hit me that this was the longest I’d gone without seeing them since last summer and it was making me sad.

“Well I would’ve been there if I was invited,” she smirked.

I was about to tell her that her being invited was out of my hands.

And yes, I was going to throw Armias under the bus.

She needed to know that she still had a lot of work to do to mend that relationship.

I mean, I’m sure she was aware but a little reminder never hurt nobody.

Before I could say anything, Zee spoke up.

His little voice was becoming bigger and his vocabulary was rapidly expanding.

“Lourdy, we’re com-”

“Alright, Lourdes! Talk to you later, girl!” Rahesha abruptly hung up the phone.

“That was weird,” I frowned while giving Neese her phone back. “Do you think she’s really mad about not being invited?”

“No,” Aspen giggled. “She’s in nursing school. She couldn’t miss a whole week to be here.”

“Oh yea,” I remembered. “Then why did she hang up like that?”

“Chile, who knows? You know how she is,” Aneesah shrugged while putting her phone in her Louis Vuitton vanity bag. “Let’s take a shot, y’all!”

“Ooou, yes!” Denim clapped.

“Y’all some alcoholics,” my mama shook her head. “Where that bottle of Don Julio at, though?”

We all laughed, as I pulled out my custom pink bedazzled Hello Kitty Don Julio bottle with the numbers 24 on the side.

“Is that my song?” I exclaimed in excitement. The volume on the radio wasn’t turned all the way up, but that intro always made my ears perk up.

“It sure is! Turn the music up, please!” Aspen shouted to the driver.

“Just got my clothes from the cleaner! 'Bout to swang on the feeder! You know everythin' pinka! You know everythin' twinkles! I'm lookin' for a pleaser! Can you tell me have you seen him? Tell him that I need him. He know everythin' pinkaaaa!”

I was convinced that Monaleo had me in mind when she made “Everything Pinka” because this was literally my theme song.

I was a walking example of the song right then.

My nails and toes were a soft pink. The bottle of liquor I was holding was pink.

My Poster Girl chain mini dress was hot pink as well as my vintage platform Louboutins with silver accents.

I would forever and always be a pink princess, so this song was made for me.

“We’re hereee!” My mom announced, as the driver stopped.

“Why y’all looking at me like that?” I asked uneasily. We’d gone from singing along to Monaleo and taking shots of Don to them all giving me sneaky smiles. We were supposed to be having dinner at a fancy beach restaurant, but they were looking at me like they knew something I didn’t.

“No reason, just let us lead the way, Lo-Lo Pop,” Granny winked at me.

“Yea…and we have to blind fold you,” my mom pulled a sparkly pink scarf from her bag. Oh yea, they were definitely in on a surprise and they’d done an amazing job at hiding it thus far.

I could have probably seen this coming if I had taken time to really think about it.

Last year on the day of my birthday, Armias and his boys spent the day away from me and my girls.

He was making sure everything was in order on the yacht and setting up all my gifts.

It was giving that he was doing something similar this year because he wouldn’t just spend the whole day away from me for no good reason.

However, I was a little stumped about what he could be up to because my birthday was yesterday.

We had a full yacht day and a formal dinner was served on the boat, which was really a house on water.

My Curacao yacht put my Miami yacht to shame.

I’d already been showered with surprises and gifts on my birthday, so I didn’t know what Armias was up to tonight.

“Can y’all take this blind fold off of me?” I asked in annoyance. Everybody was huddled around me, leading the way. I could hear live instruments, but I couldn’t see a damn thing because I was blindfolded.
