Chapter Nine

Shay shrugged. “You might have to stand in line. They’re going to raid her entire empire and she’s gonna be left in ruins.

Many heads are going to roll downhill by the time we get done.

If they know too much about others in this.

.. Olivia, Victor and Ty are all going to be begging us to protect them.

And the only way that’s gonna happen is them being behind bars.

But one never knows who’s inside those places either.

Olivia will never get out as she will die there.

Victor will go up for life too. Maybe get the death penalty as well.

Don’t you worry about ever seeing them.”

“Good.” Char sneered. “It’s about time. Ole grandma dearest is gonna find out the world doesn’t revolve around her and that’s going to hurt more than anything else ever would. But I do think I will sneak in on the trial just so I can see her in orange.”

Rosie nodded and whispered, “Me too.”

Shay’s phone buzzed and he gazed down at it. “I have some more information you need to see.” He motioned Char and Rosie over.

Kelly also moved over to stand almost behind her husband.

Shay tapped his cell screen as the girls all leaned in close.

On the screen was the familiar living room. One the girls knew well from their nightmare childhoods.

When they saw this room, Rosie and Char gasped loudly.

The leather sofa was empty. And there was no whiskey to be seen. But in front of it three people sat on their knees with their hands cuffed behind their backs.

A marshal in full uniform, star badge, a utility gun belt and a wide brimmed hat, spoke to all three prisoners, “You are under arrest by the Federal Marshals of the United States.”

“For fucking what?” the woman, Olivia who wore cuffs behind her, asked.

A whispered mutter came from the phone’s speaker, “We don’t have an hour to list all of the charges.” It was Skeeter’s voice.

The Federal Marshal raised a very thick stack of papers.

“I will read the least to the worst charges that have been made against you. Ten count violations of Title 19 of the Code of Federal Regulations. (1–2725) This covers the definition of specific federal offenses, including treason, fraud, espionage, assault, and firearms violations. Of which you are in violation of all five definitions. Then at least 20 counts of Title 18 of the Customs Enforcement code. To ship and distribute illegal substances such as weapons, drugs and contraband.”

“Those are all lies!” Olivia screamed at him.

“That isn’t even the worst of it,” Skeeter’s voice could be heard whispering again from the speaker as he held the phone camera on the prisoners.

The Marshal ignored her and kept reading from the rest of them as he dropped each warrant onto the table next to the sofa.

“Four counts of aggravated assault.” Drop.

“Three counts of assault with a deadly weapon.” Drop.

“Two counts of child endangerment.” Drop.

“Two counts of kidnapping and taking the underage victims across state lines.” Drop.

“Murder One.” Drop. “Then Murder count Two will be paired along with arson.” Drop.

“Section 81, defining arson, providing a penalty of imprisonment for up to 25 years.” Drop.

“Section 113 provides punishments for assault or for assault with intent to commit murder, imprisonment for not more than 20 years.” Drop.

“Assault with intent to commit any felony except murder or a felony under chapter 109A, by a fine under this title or imprisonment for not more than ten years, or both; for assault with a dangerous weapon, with intent to do bodily harm, and without just cause or excuse, by a fine under this title or imprisonment for not more than ten years, or both.” He simply kept on dropping warrants onto the now seven inch high stack.

“Six counts of assault by striking, beating, or wounding a child under this title or imprisonment especially when the victim of the assault is an individual who has not attained the age of 16 years.” He finally raised his head, dropped this last page and actually glared at the three people on the floor.

Ty Regis was muttering through his wired jaw, “N-not m-me...”

The Federal Marshal bent down a bit and said, “The last five charges were JUST for you, Mr. Regis.”

Ty’s bruised face went entirely white as he made an odd sound like a retching then leaned forward to puke through his wired jaw.

Next to him, Olivia gasped as she scrambled and tried to rise.

Victor saw this and used his shoulder to knock her into Ty.

Screaming, Olivia received a full face of yellow puke and it dripped along her cheeks then down onto her blouse. She shuddered in revulsion and made a retching sound too.

Victor then shouted at her, “It was all your doing, mother! You just could not stop even after you made your first million!”

Olivia was weeping and almost convulsing in horror, yet she still wore her bitch persona well. “And you murdered four people! I never told you to do that! Like it was my idea to... make it look like Ty... was killed. But YOU! Always going too far!”

“You will die in prison, mother dear!” Victor shouted back.

“And you will be someone's little bitch-boy !” she screamed as she literally lunged her puked covered body at him.

The Federal Marshall stepped over to intervene.

“Nah, dude,” Grizzly’s voice came over the cell as he gave him warning, “You cannot interfere as an unknown bodily fluid is on the perps,” he told the Marshal. “That is a subset code of the health and welfare of an officer. We have to wait until the EMT’s arrive.”

The Marshal then paused and took a few steps back.

All three suspects were slamming their bodies around while attempting to get at each other while handcuffed.

They were screaming and cursing. All while.

.. Puke splattered everywhere. Which included the persian carpeting, the soft venetian leather couch and mainly, it covered Olivia’s two thousand dollar pink and green Versace jumpsuit.

The puke seemed to blend over those colors and no one could tell where the puke began or the jumpsuit ended.

The video feed backed away from the wild trainwreck that was the Barron family and Ty Regis. Then Skeeter whispered into the phone, “Girls, it isn’t exactly orange but hey, crime is colorblind I guess?” He actually snickered before he ended the call.

Rosie seemed to be hyperventilating as she stared at the screen. Then she let out a huge yell and collapsed to the floor onto her knees. Covering her face with both hands she screamed into her hands.

Char went a bit pale as she looked concerned and she dropped down next to her. “Rosie? It’s okay, they cannot hurt you ever again!”

Rosie dropped her hands from her face and grinned at her big sister. “Are you crazy? I’m so happy and glad that I cannot contain it. That was THE fucking funniest shit I ever saw in my whole fucking life!” She fell over laughing.

Char looked stunned and then grinned too as she laughed as well. Looking up at Kelly, she raised her fist in the air victoriously. “She’s right that was fucking awesome!”

Kelly knelt down as she was already chuckling. “The best! It was the best!”

All three of them embraced like teen girls as their bubbly laughter rippled through the room.

Shay and Pappy then looked at each other.

Shay actually had tears in his eyes. He now knew that Kelly would finally believe that she was free.

Trudy stepped up and looped her arms through theirs. “Well guys...Sometimes justice is a rainbow.”

Pappy looked down at Baby Girl. “Nah, Trudy girl. You did not just say that!”

Trudy shrugged. “Welp, I never claimed to be that clever.”

All three of them laughed.
