Chapter 8
Dani is fucking hot. Her chest is framed by her fitted shirt underneath her blazer. Her perky, full ass in those jeans … I want to sink my hands into it. We’ve been staring at each other. Shit. How long have we been silently staring at each other?
I stalk up to her, and her lips part. Fuck it.
I push her against the glass wall. My hand instinctively rests around her neck as I plow my tongue into her mouth.
She kisses back, and her hands pull my hips closer to her body.
It’s passionate with our lips feverishly exploring.
Her smell is feminine and without perfume.
I’m hard. She has to be able to feel it through my jeans.
I can’t pinpoint why I’m this feral for her, but her power has overtaken me.
Then, Adam fucking Harris tortures my mind, ruining the moment.
The last thing I need is to take something from him.
His ego would happily ruin me for taking his girl.
Is she his girl? I know she said they broke up, but I can’t gamble like this.
“We shouldn’t be doing this,” I say, breathing heavily, and her hands pull my hips closer.
Surprised, I kiss her again, but for the final time.
Pulling her hands off me and backing away, I apologize. “That was unprofessional of me,” I start, regretting my actions, although it’s a lie to say I regret kissing her. I shouldn’t have done it here, in this setting, that’s for sure. “It will never happen again.”
“Gideon, I wanted that too.” She looks down, embarrassed. Those big hazel eyes of hers look too sad. Fuck. I made this awkward.
“Sorry, I can’t mix business and personal. We have so much on the line.” I move my hand toward hers but stop. I cannot touch her anymore.
“I get it,” she says softly.
“You raised some good points, and of course, you come highly recommended,” I pivot. “Send me some ideas and your rate so we can get started.”
