Chapter 25
Pulling her onto my lap, I stare into her beautiful hazel eyes, brushing her hair behind her ears.
“Start hydrating,” I smirk. “The next time I see you … It’s going to be a marathon.
” She giggles, rolling her eyes. “Such a brat,” I whisper, lightly kissing her lips.
“Let me walk you home,” I say, tracing my thumb along her cheekbone and holding her in my lap. She pouts, and I fucking love it.
I’m reckless with her—out of control. And I like her too much. It’s too soon to like her like this. I don’t know if I’m truly ready to have someone in my life again. Real-ity is all-consuming. I don’t know if I can give her enough time.
“It’s a five-minute walk,” she says.
“Crime in Chicago is bad, and it’s dark out.”
“I’ll be fine.”
“I’m walking you home.” She crashes her lips into mine. “So fucking sexy,” I growl. As much as I want to keep this going, I push her back. “Will you go out with me on one more date?”
“Maybe,” she flirts.
“Dani,” I grumble.
“As long as you fuck me on the next date.”
I bite my lip. “It’s taking all of my energy to not rip your clothes off right now. If we go out again, I will fuck you until you can’t walk.”
