“Good morning,” I cheerily say to Kelsey once she answers my call the next day as I walk toward my favorite coffee shop. “So, Gideon invited me over last night. He cooked!”
“He cooks, too! Why is this man single?”
“Well, he did have a serious relationship that ended about a year ago.”
“Would you say you’re both rebounding?”
“Ha. Ha! I’ve been single since November.”
Kelsey laughs. I have not been single since November, as much as I want to lie to myself about it, I’ve only been single since Adam’s birthday party.
“I’m having fun.”
“Oh, God! Dani, you do not know how to have fun.”
“Did you google him?”
“Yes.”
“Tell me why I would say no to him.”
“Because you’re not totally over Adam.”
I scoff, feeling called out. “His dick will fuck Adam out of me. I know it.”
“So, when will that be happening?”
“I don’t know. I‘m letting this unfold naturally. I’m not in a rush.” Although, I would very much like to fuck Gideon already.
“Easy to say when you have all these gorgeous men throwing themselves at you.”
I smirk, then pause. “Adam texted me during dinner. I don’t think he likes how serious I am about our break.”
“Why are you calling it that? Do you think you’re going to go back to him?”
“I don’t know, Kelsey!” I snap, then sigh.
