Chapter 62

Ending my first call with Cryptoball, Dubois, and a dozen other marketing consultants and lawyers, I shake my head at how entry-level it was.

These people are marketing experts? I huff a laugh.

That call was … I don’t know. With the acquisition hoping to close before the end of the year, these consultants are pushing for a rebrand and name change. My gut reaction? Wrong move.

Checking my emails, I read a new one from my oldest PropTech client. “Fuck,” I mutter, realizing it’s a very polite breakup.

I text Gideon.

Dani Sommer

Another client didn’t renew. That’s the second one this week.

Gideon Stone

Sorry, baby! Let’s blow off some steam. Cocktails later?

Dani Sommer

On a Wednesday? I feel special.

Gideon Stone

You are special. Look sexy by 7:00.

Looking at myself in the mirror, I think this black low-cut bodysuit and black leather high-waisted pants meet the sexy requirements.

Gideon Stone

Out front.

Dani Sommer

Be right down.

I finish the glass of wine I’d started while getting ready and grab my lilac leather jacket. Even though it’s almost June, it’s only fifty degrees out right now. This jacket … It’s one of very few items that Adam paid for that is still in my closet. I love it too much to get rid of it.

“Hi.” I smile, exiting my apartment. Gideon looks too fucking hot in a black turtleneck, black jeans, white sneakers, and a plaid gray peacoat to complement the outfit.

He leans down, pulling me in for a kiss. “You look sexy.” Taking my hand, he starts walking.

“Where are we going?”

“I saw this place on the corner. It looks cool.”

“When’s bedtime?” I ask.

“We have a couple of hours. Don’t worry.”

“I’m not worried.” I laugh. “I’m not the one who gets up at four thirty in the morning.”

“I could be persuaded to skip my workout tomorrow if we get one in tonight.”

“I’m still sore.”

“From this past weekend?”

“No!” I swat his arm. “From our workout on Monday.” He devilishly chuckles, and I can’t hold back a smile. “I don’t know how you get up that early.”

“It’s my routine. It’s not that bad.”

The corner bar is divey-looking, yet has all the award and accolade stickers on the glass door. “I haven’t been here yet.”

“Good. I like all of our firsts.”

I stick my tongue out before walking through the door.

He orders a bourbon-based drink, and I order a tequila-forward cocktail that looks interesting.

“I’m sorry your clients aren’t renewing. What do you think is going on?” he asks as we wait for the bartender to mix the drinks.

“I raised my prices.” I shrug. “Honestly, I don’t know. They’ve all gotten good press, and I’ve gone above and beyond for them. I thought they were enjoying working with me.”

“Maybe they’re having budget concerns. Everyone is trying to cut back right now.” Gideon grabs my hand. “Thank you for setting up that interview. They said it’s going to run next week.” G takes his first sip. “Did you and Declan?—?”

“Me and Declan what?”

“At the gym, it was as if you two had a one-night stand and were now seeing each other for the first time since.”

“No. It’s a long story. One I don’t want to get into tonight.”

“So, he’s never touched this?” G’s lips crash into mine.

“Never.”

“Or this?” He squeezes my boob.

“Gideon!” I swat his arm. “We’re in public.”

“And?” His finger trails down my cleavage, and I love the chemistry between us.

“We’ve never hooked up,” I whisper, and am thankful he didn’t touch my thigh. I might have lied. I bite his lip hard, hoping we’re done talking about Declan for the evening.

“He has a crush on you,” G says, watching me sip my drink.

I close my eyes and stick my tongue out, deflecting.

“Adam, Declan,” he starts, his energy shifting. “You have the attention of a lot of powerful men.”

“Especially Gideon Stone.”

“That’s right.” He smirks. “Keep my name on your lips.”

I giggle, taking another sip of my drink. “This is so good!”

“Mine, too.” He holds a lingering stare before saying, “We’re a good team. We work hard. Play hard. Fuck harder.”

I squeeze his thigh, loving that little motto for us.

While savoring our cocktails, we flirt, steal kisses, and order another round.

Halfway through my second cocktail, I feel more buzzed than I should and realize I haven’t had dinner yet.

I’ll just skip it. I don’t feel hungry for food, and I can’t take how much I’m attracted to him any longer.

“I want to fuck you,” I whisper.

“I love how needy you are. Come here.” We hold a long kiss, and G takes a sip of his drink after he breaks away.

“Here,” I softly say.

His face is statuesque, but the flick of his eyes to meet mine sends my heart rate into overdrive. Shit. I was kind of hoping he would tell me later. But that look says it’s happening now.

“Go to the bathroom,” he says softly but commanding.

“Are we doing this?”

“You started it.”

I take a deep breath. We are absolutely going to fuck in this bar’s bathroom.

“It’s going to be very quick. Before anyone realizes we’re missing.” He takes my hand and puts it over his pants. He’s already hard.

I slam the rest of my drink and slide off the barstool.

I’ve never done it in a bar bathroom before.

Gideon is my first for so many things. Standing in the single-stall bathroom, I think about the kiss he stole at Adam’s house.

I bite my lip, replaying that and so many of our memories together.

Being with him is the right kind of impulsive.

It’s sexy, spontaneous, and adventurous.

Then he comes in and flicks the lock shut. His hands go straight to my pants, unbuttoning them. “Back against the door,” he growls, pulling my pants down to my knees. He looks confused, staring at my bodysuit, and I laugh, unbuttoning the crotch while he pulls his pants down.

“Is this a first for you?” he asks, noticing how nervous I am. I nod before he slams his lips into mine. “My little troublemaker,” he whispers into my ear. “Now be quiet.”

He thrusts into me hard and fast, and I have to stand on my tiptoes to take him fully. He adjusts his grip on my hips. “So short,” G mutters, tugging my pants down fully before lifting me up.

My back presses into the door as he holds me, biting my neck as he thrusts faster. “You don’t know how hot this is,” he pants, pinning my wrists above my head and thrusting deeper.

“I’m going to scream,” I whine.

“Don’t fucking scream,” he commands, slipping two fingers into my mouth. His other hand squeezes my hip tight. Thrust after thrust, he sends me to another dimension, and I moan.

“I’m close,” I manage around his fingers.

“Come for me,” he whispers, then traces his tongue along my ear. “I feel how close you are. Pulse on this cock.”

I love giving him my body, and I love what he does with it even more.

“Come for me, baby,” he pants, thrusting into me so fucking fast and hard. “I need it.”

I relent, giving in to every sensation, from his fingers in my mouth to his thick cock inside me. I release, biting down on his fingers so I don’t make a sound. This sends him over the edge, and I feel him release inside me.

“Next time. Wear a dress,” he says, eyeing my pants on the floor.

I kiss him before he slides out the door. Getting myself back together, I smile, savoring this memory we just made.

“I closed out,” he says, waiting for me outside the bathroom. “Where do you want to go from here?”

“Your place.”
