Chapter 95
“Are you also drooling?” I ask Kate as we sit in Adirondack chairs in Declan’s yard, overlooking Geneva Lake.
We’re watching the guys play some game on his beach where they’re in a circle, throwing a ball into a mini trampoline.
Gideon, Declan, Brandon, and this guy Patrick, who also works at Cryptoball, are so into it. It’s competitive.
“I’m enjoying the show.” Kate laughs.
“What in the white-boy sports is this?” I joke, internally chuckling, that I’ve never seen any of these guys in baseball hats. Why are baseball hats such a hot vibe?
“Spikeball.”
I pull my bikini straps down, not wanting the tan lines. Everyone at Declan’s house is enjoying the hot September Saturday. He invited up a handful of his friends and employees from Cryptoball.
Brittany, his chief marketing officer, and her friend Lauren rejoin us outside, and I whisper to Kate, “Fuck her Pilates body,” looking at her walking around in a bikini.
“You want to fuck her Pilates body?” Kate teases, and I realize I shouldn’t be mean when I’m just jealous.
“No. I need to get focused on my diet,” I say, staring at Lauren. She’s perfectly toned and really pretty.
Kate looks at me, a little furrow in her brow, then checks me out and smirks. “I’d still fuck you.”
“Kate!” I swat her arm. “I had almost successfully blocked that memory out forever.”
“Why? I’m the unicorn of all unicorns.”
I shake my head, not at her but reliving that fucked-up night. How I had a threesome with Kate and Sorin in exchange for being able to leave his house for the evening. Kate was definitely giving.
“Do you and Brandon do that—add people?”
“He’s not that into it, but we have some guidelines about when I can join another couple.”
“Kate,” I say, surprised, my eyes going wide.
“You and Gideon qualify.”
My jaw drops. It would be too messy though. If we do that, it should be with someone we barely know, not someone I’m becoming close friends with.
“I’ll keep that in mind.” I laugh. “The boys look winded,” I say, watching them stand around with their hands on their hips.
Gideon starts walking toward me with a suspicious look. He bends down to kiss me, pulls me up, and tosses me over his shoulder. “Gideon!” I squeal.
“Such a whale, Dani,” Kate mocks me, and yeah, I know it took him no effort to pick me up. Gideon starts walking to the pier.
“Don’t throw me in!” I protest. “My boobs are going to fall out!”
He grumbles, then slides me off his shoulder. I adjust my straps, putting them back on.
“Let’s swim,” he says, grabbing my hand. “Three … two …” He swings our hands, signaling we’re jumping.
“One!” I yell, and we jump in. I take a deep breath as I emerge from the initial chill, but the water is nice.
“Are you having a relaxing day?” he asks.
“I am.”
I swim into his arms with a big smile. His lips crash into mine and I wasn’t expecting such a heated kiss right now. “I love this bikini.”
“Yeah?”
“Your rack is … whoa.” I roll my eyes, but yeah, my boobs are the biggest they’ve ever been. “You and Kate seem to be giggling away. Anything funny to share?”
“She wants to have a threesome with us.”
“Really?” He raises a brow, and his face says he does not hate that idea. “What about Brandon?”
“I guess he’s cool with it.”
“What do you think about that?”
“It wouldn’t be my first time,” I confess.
“What?” He laughs, truly surprised. “You’ve had a threesome before?”
“It was actually with Kate. It was super fucked up though—Sorin and everything.”
“Something you’ve done that I haven’t done,” G mutters.
“What? You’ve never had one?” He shakes his head.
“What do you think about that?” he asks. “Adding someone else.”
“I’d rather it be another guy.”
“Yeah?”
I shrug. “Call me selfish, but I would only want it to be all about me.”
“Hmm … something to think about when we get bored.”
“Ha! I think we have a while there. What about you? What kind of threesome do you want?”
“Like with a stranger who we’re never going to see again. Like Lauren.”
G thinks she’s hot, great. “Not Lauren.”
“Why?”
“I’m jealous of her body.”
“Baby. Are you serious? You’re the hottest one here.”
“I’m the biggest girl here.”
“Is it because Kate called you a whale? I assumed it was like a joke or something.”
“I’m not feeling the most confident.”
“You’re the only one here who can squat your weight. I think that’s fucking hot.” He leans in to kiss me. “I think you look healthy and strong.” I shrug, and he shakes his head. “You are fucking sexy, Dani.”
“I just want to get my diet in order.”
“If you think so …” he says softly. “Do you want to talk with Tyler? Have a nutritionist make a meal plan for you or something? I don’t want you to go back to barely eating.”
“Barely eating?” He’s never said that before. That’s a real observation. I’ve been eating three full meals a day, plus snacks, for the last couple of months, and that’s a new habit for me. “I hear you. I’ll talk with Tyler.”
“Good.” He kisses me. “Should we go chat with Lauren?” I splash him, and he dunks me. “How about I fuck you instead?”
