Chapter Thirty Nine
Ω Blakely Ω
The next day Bronx and I got up early to get ready for the plans. He had a meeting with my dad, and I was supposed to meet Charlotte and Alexander at the book event. The sun was shining today. It felt so good out.
When I pull into a parking spot, I wince as the sun shines right in my eyes. It’s like a dagger to my temple. I shake my head. I don’t like how bright lights have been giving me a headache lately.
Maybe Charlotte is right. Maybe I should take a pregnancy test. It’s either that or go to the doctor because something definitely isn’t right with me.
Charlotte ends up pulling in right beside me. Alexander is riding in the passenger seat, and it takes everything in me not to laugh at him. I never thought he would like being driven around.
Alexander opens my door for me, and I get out. “Are you ready for today?” Charlotte beams at me.
I laugh. “Ready to get it done and over with? Definitely!”
I resist the urge to rub my temple. Even with sunglasses on, it seems like the sun is stabbing me in my eyeball. We all walk into the event together and head to the table. Of course there's no chairs.
“Are you okay, Blakely?” Charlotte asks me before I feel her hand on my arm.
I look over at her and nod. “I just think I have a migraine, but I’m okay.” Charlotte shares a look with Alexander. “You told him!?”
Alexander crosses his arms. “We tell each other everything. I can’t believe he knocked you up already.”
My mouth drops open. Charlotte just smiles sheepishly at me.
“I am not pregnant.” I shouldn’t say it that way.
I don’t know. “I’m not one hundred percent sure if I’m pregnant or not, but I don’t want it getting around to people.
If my dad or Bronx finds out that I think I might be pregnant before I tell them, they’ll both be upset, and I don’t want that to happen. ”
Now I feel like I need to leave and go home. My stomach turns, but I refuse to throw up. That could just be nerves. It doesn’t mean I’m pregnant.
Charlotte squeezes my arm again. “Where’s Bronx?”
“He’ll be here soon. He had to go have a meeting with my dad.”
They both nod at me and don’t say anything more. I’m kind of glad for the quiet. I don’t want to have to convince them that I’m not pregnant.
It would be a good thing if I was, but I don’t know if I am or not. It’s a conversation I’ll need to bring up to Bronx later. Maybe he’ll be fine if we leave here early and go home. I pull out my phone from my pocket and type a text to Bronx.
Blakely: Hey babe <3 I’m going to have an order delivered to the house, so we’ll need to leave early to go and put it away
Bronx: SUCH A GOOD IDEA. I’m still waiting for your dad. Apparently, he’s at a different meeting that just came up, but I’m sure you already knew that. I’m bored. All of the guys are out on calls, so I’m just sitting here waiting alone.
Blakely: Don't let your thoughts get to you ;P
Bronx: Oh, butterfly… They’re getting to me. It’s all the things I plan to do to you later… So many good things come to my mind
Blakely: Mmm… I like the way you think. You always know how to treat me right
Bronx: It’s my life’s purpose to make you feel like the most important person in the entire world to me. Because you are. You’re my most prized possession, butterfly
Blakely: <3 My loooovvvveee. Who knew you could be so cute?
I put my phone back in my pocket and help Charlotte get the table ready for the rest of the day since I decided to go through with the event after all. I can’t wait until Bronx gets here.

It’s been hours since I last heard from Bronx. I keep texting him, but I haven’t gotten a response yet. Everytime I check my phone and don’t see a response from him, my stomach hurts a little more.
“I think you should go home, Blakely…” Charlotte looks like she's worried about me. “I think you should at least lay down or something. You look really pale. I can have Alexander drive you home if you want.”
I shake my head. “No… I can drive myself, that's alright. I do think I’ll go home. I don’t feel great.” I grab my wallet and phone and shove them into my pockets. “If Bronx comes here…”
It’s weird. He always updates me about what he’s doing… Now he’s just dropped off the face of the Earth. Does it really take that long to do paperwork? Unless he’s having a panic attack at the station. Maybe I should’ve gone with him.
“We’ll tell him you went home, okay?” Alexander tells me.
I smile softly and leave without another word. No one has stopped by my table, so we were planning on packing up early anyway. I guess I’ll at least be able to tell Bronx that I tried. He’ll feel bad, but at least we tried. I just wish he would’ve been able to be here with me.

After I arrived home, I made sure to bring all of the groceries in and put them away. I didn’t get much, just some snack foods… The main thing I wanted to order was a pregnancy test. Everything I’ve been feeling lately could mean I’m pregnant.
I’m not stressed. I barely go into the office. We don’t do much other than stay in the house, so I can’t be sick…
Kal-El walks into the bathroom with me and meows. I pet behind his ears right where he likes it. “Well, I guess I’m not alone to take this…”
