Chapter Six #2
“Give me that, Creeland,” Halo demanded with urgency, and her arm extended toward Creeland. “Kenzo, don’t talk.”
I watched in confusion as Kenzo frowned at Halo and Creeland handed her the cup with the pink drink.
She turned back to me with the cup in hand and a sympathetic look on her face. “I’m sure all of this is a lot to take in, but I need you to trust me. You have to drink this.”
Scowling at Halo, I shook my head. Right now, I didn’t trust myself.
I was feeling things for people who were strangers.
I had no clue what had been done to me, but it had to have come from the sexual encounter I had with Kenzo earlier.
I’d heard doing sexual stuff with shifters had a way of messing with a person's mind. Obviously, it did because I’d lost my damn mind, and until I could find a way to get away from these shifters, I was doing the opposite of what my mind told me to do.
“Please…” Halo paused while looking at Kenzo. “What is her name?”
“Bellamy,” he answered quickly.
“Bellamy, if you don’t drink this, you’re going to go into heat.
I don’t know if you know what going into heat is.
However, you are going to affect everyone around you.
Mainly, your mate. He won’t be able to control himself, especially since you two aren’t mated.
Kenzo’s instincts will be to mark you and to ensure you are carrying his cub.
What happened earlier was a result of you going into heat.
You won’t have control over yourself either.
You might be able to resist for a little while, but it won’t last long.
Your wolf won’t fight her instincts the way your human is.
She’ll overpower you and make you submit. ”
“Lies. Run. They’re going to kill you.”
Finally, someone was making sense, although I didn’t trust that voice. It sounded evil, but it was the only voice that was making sense to me. I had no idea who they thought I was, and I hoped they found whoever they were looking for, but it wasn’t me. I wasn’t what they were saying I was.
“I’m not a wolf. Never have I been a shifter.
All I want to do is go home,” I spoke evenly while avoiding eye contact with everyone in the room.
Yet, I still felt all eyes on me. Mainly Kenzo’s eyes.
I had no idea how I could tell they were his eyes, but I knew it was him, even more so when he opened his mouth.
“You are home.” That wasn’t a question. It was a statement. One that Kenzo’s tone left no room for debate against.
“You really should take this, Bellamy. At least until you understand everything that is going on,” Halo tried to reason with me, but I wasn’t trying to hear anything she was saying. I needed to get out of here.
“Don’t run,” Kenzo growled at me, making my heart and my core thump.
“I’m not,” I said while glaring at him defiantly, and I wished I hadn’t.
Looking into his fiery eyes lit a flame in my soul that couldn’t be put out.
Every inch of my body reacted to Kenzo, and I hated it.
I wanted to consume every inch of his being.
To be drunk off his essence. To be able to feel him flowing through my body as we became one.
I wanted Kenzo. My body was crying out for him to ease the pulsing pain coming from my pussy.
My body was beginning to get hot. I saw Kenzo take a deep breath, and his eyes glowed brighter than I had ever seen them.
Halo looked between Kenzo and me. “Bell, I doubt you understand what you’re doing, but your arousal is very strong right now. The more you interact with Kenzo, the more your wolf is going to react.”
“I don’t have a wolf. Stop saying that!” I angrily said before shooting up to my feet, standing in the middle of the bed with my fists clenched while leering down at Halo. I wasn’t going to hurt her, but I wanted her to understand I wasn’t one of them.
“You do,” Halo replied slowly like she was trying to make me understand something that wasn’t true. “Trust me, Bell. You do. You have a latent wolf. That’s why you can’t tell she’s there.”
“You’re all crazy.” I shook my head as I made my way down from the bed. “And don’t call me that. My mom is the only one who calls me that,” I snapped at Halo while looking for an exit. How Halo knew about my nickname was beyond me.
“Bellamy, sit down,” Kenzo grunted as he stood up with an angrily snarl on his face.
“I don’t have to listen to you.” I don’t mean that. Yes, I did. Kenzo wasn’t the boss of me. He wasn’t my fucking mate.
“I am.”
My head snapped in Kenzo’s direction. His hulking frame was taunting my visual senses.
Kenzo looked like a chocolate god. His chiseled chest was sculpted to perfection.
Arms looked like two war missiles that were ready to launch at any moment, and I wanted to be their target.
Easily put, Kenzo was built like a powerful god.
“None of you can make me stay here,” I said, trying to sound more convincing than I felt.
“We aren’t the ones you need to be worried about,” Creeland replied with an amused smirk that I didn’t care for.
Squaring my shoulders, I looked right at Kenzo. “You aren’t my mate, and I’m not staying.”
I heard myself talking, but it didn’t feel like I was really the one speaking. It felt like I was on the outside of my body watching myself talk. I wasn’t in control of my own body, and it was scaring me. I had to get back home. Nothing was making sense here. I felt like I was losing myself.
“Try me,” Kenzo said with his eyes locked on me in a predatory glare.
I was scared, but at the same time, it excited me.
His beefy frame loomed over me. Blinking twice, I tried to comprehend when and how he’d gotten over to me so fast. I would have thought a man as big as Kenzo would have made some kind of noise.
He stood inches from me with his fiery orangish eyes watching my every move.
Seeing Kenzo lick his lips had my pussy pulsing at the thought of how amazing his tongue felt.
I can’t give in again. Yes, you can. He is ours, and we are his.
I felt my resolve weakening. I wanted so bad to give in to the feeling brewing in my soul.
It felt like I was supposed to do it. Every fiber of my being was yearning for me to give in to Kenzo.
I could hear his soul calling out to mine.
Singing the sweetest song to me. Begging for me to give into him.
But I couldn’t. I refused to. Shifters had taken too much from me. I would never betray Alonzo like that. Alonzo lost his life protecting me from shifters. No matter how tempted I felt, I would never give in to Kenzo or my own desires. Not without a fight.
Catching Kenzo completely off guard, with all my might, I lifted my foot, slamming it down onto his bare foot.
I felt horrible. I really wanted to stay and comfort Kenzo.
Ignoring the urge to help Kenzo, I took off toward the door Halo had come in.
Erratically, I ran through the house that looked more like a cave while trying to find an exit.
I wanted to laugh at how crazy I probably looked, but my determination to get out of here overpowered all emotions.
.. aside from the thumping between my legs that I was doing everything in my power to ignore.
We won’t make it far, that inner voice of mine said just as I made it to the entrance to the large cave-house.
Looking down at the steep mountain trail, I debated not going.
That was until I heard the thunderous roar that shook the entire ground beneath me, leaving my body shaking with lust and fear.
That roar shook my body to its core, giving me another boost of energy.
Hurriedly but carefully, I made my way down the steep steps onto the wooded mountain trail while praying I didn’t tumble down this mountain to my death.
