Chapter 9
Chapter Nine
KENZO ATALLAH
Cree and I darted through the woods in our animal forms, trying to get to our mates.
When Bellamy mindspoke with us, we were delighted.
However, hearing she was in trouble sent us into a frenzy.
Regret over the fact that we’d been avoiding Bellamy since our encounter in the woods flooded us.
The jealous side of us couldn’t help but wonder where Bellamy learned all that sexual shit from.
We could smell that her cherry was still intact, but that didn’t mean she hadn’t done other shit with that bitch-ass fake fiancé from before.
Just thinking about Bellamy sucking another male’s dick fucked with us.
She was ours, and no other being on this planet should have had access to her.
We didn’t want to be mean to her because we weren’t saints ourselves, but we were bothered.
A part of us felt like the whore tendencies that Bellum had, Bellamy would too.
They looked just alike. Why wouldn’t they act alike too?
To keep from taking our frustration out on her, we decided it was best to keep our distance from Bellamy until we were able to get our emotions in check.
We didn’t want a repeat of what happened with Bellum.
Now, we kind of regretted not at least kissing her before we left because now, she was in danger.
All this shit was a lot to take in, and we didn’t know if we were coming or going most days.
Bellum had briefly spoken about some prophecy when we first met, but I had no idea we’d be involved in all of it.
Even when we helped Cree last year when their uncle betrayed them and imprisoned the members of their pack, we didn’t understand the seriousness of what was going on around us.
Now, we were beginning to understand how deep our role was in The Great Prophecy.
It only made sense that we were important to this prophecy.
Why else would shifters keep coming after Bellamy?
Finally, we made it to the clearing where Bellamy, Halo and Minnie were surrounded by Snake shifters.
Five of them were in front of the girls, while there were about seven more behind them that we didn’t think they noticed.
The girls' eyes were too focused on the shifters in front of them. Halo’s hands were glowing white like she was ready to attack them.
Minnie whipped around, finally noticing the shifters behind them.
We could feel Bellamy’s nervousness and fear.
She didn’t know what to do. Halo had a look of confidence on her face until she noticed the other shifters behind her.
Worry then settled on her face. Unlike Halo and Bellamy, Minnie looked completely unfazed by the shifters’ presence.
If anything, Minnie looked like she was about to fuck them up.
It made us question whether we were even really needed.
Halo looked directly at Cree and us. We were sure they were mindspeaking with each other.
There was no way she’d be able to see us through the dense forest.
Then a dark cloud began swirling in front of the five Snake shifters.
Loud sounds of thunder boomed as a being began to take form.
We couldn’t make out what exactly the thing looked like, but the fear and anger on Minnie’s face spoke volumes.
Words were exchanged between Minnie and the dark form.
Then, all of a sudden, Minnie charged toward the dark form, and a flash of white light clashed, causing them both to disappear, and the Snake shifters started to attack.
Halo threw light beams, knocking two of the Snake shifters on their asses.
Swiftly, we and Cree leaped into action, coming from our hidden spot in the woods.
We pounced on a Snake shifter mid-air. After sinking our teeth into its tail, we threw it into the trunk of a tree before smacking it over and over until its body went limp.
Turning around, we saw Cree tearing two of the Snake shifters to shreds.
Halo fired light beams, striking a shifter who tried to sneak up on Bellamy.
We raced over to Bellamy as another Snake shifter tried to sneak up on Bellamy.
We tore his head off, and blood sprayed all over the place as his body dropped to the ground.
The last Snake shifter, realizing everyone had been killed, tried to flee, but Cree pounced on his back as he tried to flee from us.
“Pleasssee let me go. I will tell you whatever you want to know. I’ll tell you who the Tsssar is. Pleassse. I kno—”
All of a sudden, the shifter's entire body burst like he was a balloon. His blood and guts sprayed everywhere, covering Cree’s wolf’s black fur.
His wolf looked visibly disgusted. Halo walked over to Cree and began trying to wipe off his fur in a loving manner.
The way she looked at Cree, even in his animal form, spoke to her unconditional love for him.
Her smile warmed our heart upon seeing the true love of a fated mate bond.
I looked over at Bellamy, who looked shocked beyond words, her eyes wide, arms wrapped around herself. We wanted her to look at us with the same admiration that Halo looked at Cree.
Soon. Be patient.
Wasn’t that the pot calling the kettle black? My bear was the last one who needed to tell us to be patient when his horny ass was ready to mate her as soon as we saw her. I grunted in response. Patience wasn’t our strong suit, but there weren’t many other options.
“Let’s go back to our house to get cleaned up,” Halo suggested before standing to her feet and looking back at Bellamy and us. She got onto Cree’s back, and then his wolf took off toward their packlands.
Bellamy looked at me like she was debating if she wanted to get on our back like she had any other option.
We walked next to her and bumped into her, causing her to fall onto our back.
She was laid with her arms and feet dangling from opposite sides as we trotted in the same direction Cree had just gone.
After a few minutes, Bellamy was able to pull herself up, sitting upright straddling our back.
“You know you could have just offered to let me get on your back,” Bellamy said with an attitude that we found to be cute.
“Liar.” We were able to mindspeak with her because her mind was still open.
“Stop doing that,” Bellamy grunted, and we felt her mind closing to us. We couldn’t wait to complete the mating bond because her closing her mind off didn’t sit right with us.
Since we couldn’t say what we wanted to say at this moment, we bucked, making Bellamy fall forward. Her face smashed into the side of our neck. Feeling Bellamy’s aggravation was enough to satisfy us for now.
______________
Later That Day
We didn’t make it to Cree and Halo’s house in the Kismet Packlands.
They had an emergency cabin on the edge of their packlands that we stopped at so we could all get changed and put on dry clothes.
Luckily, there were clothes for Delcan because we couldn’t fit anything Cree wore.
He was way slimmer than we were. Delcan was closer to our size.
I threw on a pair of black sweats and a white shirt.
Bellamy wasn’t as dirty as the rest of us, but she still ended up showering and putting on one of Halo’s interesting dresses.
Halo had a very unique style of clothing.
We were shocked to see an Alpha wolf allowing his mate to dress the way Halo did.
A lot of Wolf shifters could be vain. They cared about looks more than most shifters.
If their leaders didn’t look a certain way, their pack could turn against them.
It didn’t make sense to us. Bear shifters would never care about something trivial like clothing.
All shifter races had their own things that didn’t make sense on the outside.
We will say that Halo did have her moments when she wore normal clothing, but I liked that Cree allowed her to still be herself.
“Has Minnie shown back up?” Halo asked as she walked out onto the porch of the cabin. We were about to head back to my cave with Bellamy, who was tryna have a fake attitude like she didn’t want to come.
“No, not yet. Should we be worried? I like Minnie. Why couldn’t Tiny disappear instead?” Cree asked while looking over at Halo with a goofy smirk.
Halo rolled her eyes at Cree. “Even if we were worried, it’s not like we know how to get in touch with either one of them. They come and go as they please.”
“You can’t call them or do some summoning spells?” Bellamy cluelessly asked while standing next to us in front of the porch, looking up at Cree and Halo.
“Only things you can summon are of evil origins,” Halo explained to Bellamy.
“And I am far from evil. Love and peace live in me.” Minnie appeared, sitting on the steps of the porch.
“Where did you go?” Halo asked, appearing concerned.
“To a place I shouldn’t have gone,” Minnie responded with a distant look in her eyes.
“Was that the Tsar that you attacked?” Cree asked.
“No, a dark part of my past.” Minnie gritted her teeth, and a tear dropped down her face. “She took two important things from me. I won’t let her take anything else from me.”
We felt the emotion behind her words. It was odd seeing Minnie show emotions. The few times we’d been around her or Tiny, neither of them showed much emotion.
“She’s working with the Tsar or is this a new threat we need to worry about?” Cree asked anxiously. “I thought you said we were at peace until our kids got bigger.”
Floating up, Minnie gave Cree a firm expression.
Then her face returned to its natural neutral expression.
“If that’s what you want to call what they’re doing.
Evil never works well with others. You, your brothers, and all of your mates are safe.
However, there are other ways to stop the chosen one from coming into their full power to destroy the evil we are up against.”
“So, they’re going after other shifters connected to the chosen one?” Halo questioned Minnie.
“Exactly. Kenzo and Bellamy will birth the mate of the chosen one. What better way than to stop the mate from being born?” Minnie shrugged.
“You all need rest, for a journey for revelation is coming soon. Go home. Sleep. The days ahead are going to be long.” She nodded while looking at all of us.
Her eyes settled on me. “Kenzo, be careful. The darkness is closer than you think.” She winked then disappeared.
“I don’t think I will ever get used to them doing that,” Bellamy groaned as she rested her head on our shoulder. She was tired but didn’t want to say anything.
I turned around. “Get on our back,” we instructed her. She hesitated a few seconds, and then we felt her jumping up onto our back. Holding her legs, we held her in place.
“We’ll see you in a few days,” we told Cree while looking back at him. Then we headed toward the mountains to our cave.
“Kenzo?” Bellamy called our name after ten minutes of silence.
“Yes.”
“Do you really believe that we're supposed to be together?”
“We don’t believe anything. We know for a fact. You do too. You just don’t want to accept it.”
“I don’t know anything. Besides, my fiancé died, and shifters killed him.”
“Stop saying that dumb shit, Bellamy. He was nothing to you. He couldn’t make you feel the way I do if he tried, which is why we don’t und—” We started to call her out on the fact that she probably sucked that human’s dick but decided against it. Thinking about it was pissing us off again already.
“What were you going to say?” Bellamy smartly asked.
“Nothing. We don’t even want to talk no more.” We couldn’t help our attitude that was now in full effect. Bellamy being intimate with another man was going to take a long time for us to get used to.
“Oh, great. Now you have an attitude. Shaking my head. You can take me to my cabin,” Bellamy replied with her attitude.
“I’m taking you to our home. Now shut up before I make you walk,” we grunted, hoping to shut Bellamy up. We didn’t like being rude to her, so the best bet was for us to walk home in silence.
“You aren’t about to be mean to me this entire time,” Bellamy grumbled lowly.
Instead of responding to Bellamy with words, we grunted. She was tryna make demands like she ran shit. We couldn’t wait until we showed her who the real boss was. We did like that she didn’t back down. That shit was sexy. I guess Fate really did know what we liked.
