Naiobi Taylor

Being the queen of the Felines while being mated to an Alpha could be a lot.

Add in small cubs and a mate wanting more cubs, And I was stretched thin most days, but Delcan made it as bearable as he could.

He was truly my better half, and I couldn’t imagine life without him.

This week, we were staying in our palace in the center of Feline territory.

Felines were a hot mess, but we were working to get them in order.

I was working on creating a hierarchy within each village to make it easier for me to deal with things.

All villages would have an Alpha who reported directly to me.

“Queen Naiobi. Sorry to interrupt, but you have a visitor. She is refusing to leave without speaking with you,” one of my royal guards spoke. Normally, I wouldn’t entertain uninvited guests, but I had time since Delcan had taken our cubs out so I could relax.

“Let her in.” I nodded at them.

The guard disappeared then came back a few moments later with the shifter who had rescued Noel. For her heroic deeds, I’d told her she could ask me for whatever. I hadn’t heard from her since, which I found odd because Feline shifters always had their hands out.

She bowed her head, and her long, blond curls flew forward.

She lifted her head. “My queen, I need your help. They’re going to kill me because they do not understand me.

If I’m honest, I don’t understand me either.

Fate has cursed me to be a woman in my human form, but when I shift, I am a lion.

They want me dead because they believe I am cursed.

I’m the reason our lands have dried up. Please help me,” she begged, tugging at my heartstrings.

I knew before she opened her mouth I was going to help her.

How could I not? She saved my sister. I owed it to her.
