Chapter 8
Zachary’s POV
I left for Blue Moon pack along with Mason. He was very positive that Alpha Greg Davis will agree to help us with lending a pack doctor full-time. I just pray to the moon goddess that he is right this time.
We wanted to reach his pack house before noon, we ran in our wolf forms. So it took us hardly four hours to reach his territory.
Once reaching we got welcomed by Blue Moon packs Beta Henry. He bowed slightly before me as it was customary to bow before an Alpha as a symbol of respect and shook Mason’s hand.
He offered us both some clothes, before we went to a nearby hotel to get freshen up. It was a decent stay for a few days. Alpha Davis offered us a stay at his pack house. But I requested to stay elsewhere because, I didn’t want to burden him more.
We showered and got dressed in semi formals since we were going on an official pack business. We left for the pack house in Henry’s SUV. I kind of liked his attitude very polite and positive.
He kind of reminded me of our previous beta, Mason’s dad.
During the whole ride I felt little uneasy, like something strange was about to happen. After the episode with Amara, my wolf Aiden hardly talks with me, unless it’s very important. He either sulks or sleeps all the time. It was his way of retaliation.
After an hour we reached Blue Moon pack house. It was a beautiful structure, not as big compared to our’s but large enough. Pack house was a 3 story building which is surrounded with orchards and plantations.
As soon as we got out of the car, Alpha Greg Davis welcomed us with open arms.
“That’s a good sign, Zach” Mason mind linked me.
Upon entering the pack house, our senses were assaulted with the smell of food. They had arranged quite a wide spread of food for us. We all sat at the dining table. I took seat on the right side of Alpha Davis’s chair and Mason next to mine.
“Alpha Gray, meet my beautiful Luna Mary and my son William and his mate Rebecca” Alpha Davis introduced his family.
William shook my hand with a smile. He spoke with Mason and took his seat next to Mason. I liked the lad. He will become a great alpha like his father one day.
“Hello Alpha and Beta, welcome to the Blue Moon pack” Luna Mary greeted us.
“Hello Luna, thank you for your warm welcome. You have a beautiful home” I applauded her.
She smiled at me and took her seat next to her mate. For some unknown reason she looked oddly familiar to me. I omitted the thought and started with delicious looking breakfast.
As usual Mason was stuffing his mouth with unusual speed. I sometimes wondered if he even chews his food. Such a dork.
We all were chatting and eating our breakfast, suddenly I smelled a familiar scent. A faint smell of vanilla and honey. Aiden woke up abruptly from his nap and started circling.
I turned towards the direction of the staircase, where I heard the footsteps. I dropped my fork at the sight of a woman who was standing at the end of staircase.
There she was. After 4 long years, looking as mesmerising if not more than before. My beautiful mate, my Amara.
“Our mate, hug her and kiss her. Don’t let her go this time” Aiden was doing cartwheels in my head. I had to block him to think this through. He is not helping the situation.
She was coming this way but, stopped abruptly after seeing me. I could see lot of jumbled expressions on her face.
Probably thinking why I’m here. By the way how is she here ? Is she from Blue Moon pack? What are the bloody chances.
“Come have a seat darling, you might be getting late for work. Alpha Gray, this is my daughter Amara. And Amara meet Alpha Zachary Gray and Beta Mason” Alpha Greg chimed in.
He might have sensed this odd situation, but he just focused on his plate. With that we both got pulled back into reality.
She is Alpha Davis’s daughter. I knew he had a daughter but, never knew her name.
Amara came towards the dining area and took the seat next to her mother.
“Good morning Alpha Gray and Beta Mason” she greeted with stoic face. I couldn’t decipher what she was thinking.
“Good.. Good morning” I managed to spill.
“Good morning Amara, it’s nice to meet you” Mason forward his hand.
“Oh great. I have never seen him stop eating for anyone even for me. Suddenly he is ignoring food to shake her hand. Hmm.. What a big flirt” I thought in my mind.
To my surprise Amara shook his hand with polite smile. “Good morning Beta Mason” she replied back.
My stomach was turning upside down. How lovely is her voice. She was wearing blue hospital scrubs. I guess she works at the hospital.
“Oh please, call me Mason” My Beta chimes in. I roll my eyes.
“Where’s Ethan Honey?” Luna Mary asks.
“There’s been an emergency with one of his parents, so he left early for the hospital” She replied.
Who’s Ethan, is he her chosen mate? I don’t see mating mark on her neck. Is he a boy friend? My jaws twitch at the thought.
She finished her food and took off after saying goodbye to her family. She didn’t even glance at me.
“Well you deserve worse” Aiden said mockingly.
We all finished breakfast and Alpha Greg asked us to join him in his office.
After meeting with Alpha Greg and Beta Henry we left for our hotel for taking some rest. I came to know it’s Amara and Beta Henry’s son Ethan who will be coming to our pack for medical support.
Mason is very happy that we will take 2 doctors with us back home. But I have a feeling it’s not that easy as it looks.
“Our mate is a doctor, how lucky are we? Don’t you dare blow this opportunity Zach” Aiden huffed and warned me.
I couldn’t believe how fate is playing with me. Amara is a doctor. I’m so proud of her. She is alpha Greg’s precious daughter, she will be coming to my pack, to help my people and to help me. Is it even real? What do I do?
I wanted her to stay as far as possible from me, where she would be safe and happy.
After seeing her reaction today, I don’t think she knew it was me who she will be coming with.
What will she decide now? Will she be helping my pack as her father told me or she will back out?
What do I want? Do I want her to come to pack?
Before I desperately wanted her to stay away.
But now having her closer, having to see her every day thinking these things are making my inside jelly.
I want her. I mean I want her for our pack. I convince my own mind. Aiden huffs in response.I couldn’t rest until I know for sure. I had to ask her myself, so I decided to go and meet her at their pack hospital. Bold move right?
Mason was in call with Sam regarding some pack business. I was greatful for having these guys around me, without them I don’t know, how I would’ve managed my pack.
Once he finished his call, “Hey Masy, I’m going to the Blue Moon’s pack hospital” I announced.
“But why? Everything alright?” Mason asked with concern.
“Yes, I just wanted to checkout their medical facility and management. It could come in handy in future” I answered.
“Give me 15minutes, I have a call with our security incharge at the pack. We can go there together” He stated.
“No man, it’s okay. You continue your work. I will manage on my own” I said hurriedly.
I can see suspicion in his eyes. “Sure, call me if you need me” he said softly.I took the car arranged for us for commute within the pack by Beta Henry. It didn’t take me long to finally arrive at the hospital. With a sigh I got off and went to reception area to ask for Amara.
“Finally, it’s been hours since I saw our mate. I want to see her” Aiden excited about meeting Amara.
“It’s just a professional meeting. Nothing more. You know how we rejected her right?” I asked him with hint of guilt in my voice.
“I didn’t, you did. I just pray to moon goddess that mate forgives your stupid ass. I want her. She is mine” he started pacing with aggression.
“Stupid wolf” I closed my eyes and try to calm him.I checked at the reception “Hi I’m Alpha Zachary, where can I find Amara ? Umm.. Doctor Amara?”
I asked the receptionist. She stared at me for a while. “Doctor Amara is doing rounds at the moment, you can wait in her office. She will be there soon” she said with a slutty tone and then started blushing.
“Let me show you her office, this way please” I always get these kind of special treatment from the opposite gender. I’m used to flirtations now and it will not work on me.
I followed her without a word. It’s a big pack hospital twice bigger than ours. They seem to have all necessities here.
Once I reach Amara’s office, “you can wait inside” the lady winked at me and left. I sat on one of the chairs arranged near Amara’s desk. She has this picture of her whole family kept on her desk. She is smiling amazingly in it.
After half an hour, the office door got open, there comes the wonderful smell of vanilla and honey. I got up and looked at her.
She is so beautiful, even in hospital scrubs. She tied her hair in a top knot. I could see stethoscope hanging around her slender neck. I couldn’t stop myself from imagining how it will feel to suck her neck.
“What the hell are you doing here?” She asked.
It brought me back from my very own fantasy world.
