Everest wasn't home today.

Home...

I blushed, shaking my head. He said he needed to catch up on the work at my brother's mechanic workshop, so he'd have to go on Saturday -- which was today.

When I told him about the party, he told me to have fun with my friends.

He did set some rules for me too, yes rules.

If I recall correctly, the first was never to leave my drink unattended, he said if I did, I should just order a new one.

He also said to stay close to my friends and not let anyone make me uncomfortable.

The last was to not let a guy buy me a drink -- which he ended by giving me his card.

Smiling to myself, I looked in the mirror. It was nearly six in the evening and from what Kaji told me, the party started at six. She did say she'd be available to pick me up, and we'd meet the boy at the club that the Silvers had rented out for the night. Like I said, they were rich.

The black gown I wore almost reached my knees and it hugged my sides, making my curves look flattering.

The gown hiked up slightly on one part of my leg.

It wasn't a gown too formal, so I paired it with an off-shoulder shrug and a pair of wedged heels.

Putting my hair into a bun, I sleeked it back with my black gel, making sure to do my edges.

When I was done getting ready, I gave myself a final glance at the mirror, blushing in satisfaction.

"Should I tell Evie I'm about to leave now?

" I hummed, walking out of my room into the living room.

Before I could click his contact, Kaji sent me a message, she was here!

Dropping my phone in my brown baguette bag.

Taking one more look a the clean apartment, I locked the door, dropping the spare key with me.

A party...

Raul was right, I wasn't a party person, The most 'parties' I'd been to were formal ceremonies, just like the wedding Evie took me to a while back.

I hadn't gone to a club just to unwind. There were far better ways to do it than to be couped up with dancing bodies, inhaling all sorts of cigarettes and alcoholic drinks.

Kaji on the other hand seemed to be excited.

The grin on her face when I entered her car was proof enough.

"Hey, Kaji." I greeted, closing the door.

She cheesed, "You look beautiful, girl." I looked down, feeling my cheeks heat up.

"You don't think it's too much, do you?" I asked, nervous.

She seemed to also dress the part. From where I sat, she wore a black tube top paired with a leather jacket and a fitted skirt which started from her bully button.

Her blue locs were let loose, dropping to her side in full volume.

Kaji had a bit of makeup on, the lipstick she had on was a deep red, and it made her look. ..dangerous.

"Too much? Girl, you look edible. The good kind of edible." She said, wiggling her brows as though there was a hidden message in her words.

I giggled. What did that even mean?

"I'll take that odd compliment, you also look beautiful Kaji.

I love your hair by the way. The blue always gets me.

" I admit, smiling at how vibrant it was, yet it seemed to go rather well with her bronze skin.

I had always been a bit scared to dye my hair, any colour apart from my natural hair colour was far too bold for me.

Kaji smirked, "Thanks, maybe one day I'll dye yours." Her words rhymed with my thoughts. I chuckled, "One day," I replied, looking out of the window.

"So...how's the boyfriend?" Kaji asked after a brief pause, never a dull moment with this one.

Turning my gaze to hers, I arched my eyebrow.

"Kaji, he has a name you know. The 'boyfriend' makes him seem.

..t-temporary." Those words cause my stomach to tie a knot.

That was the last thing I ever wanted, so why was it bugging me so much? Kaji sighed.

"Your right, I'm sorry. How's 'Evie'."

"Kaji!" I groaned, making her laugh. "Geez, woman.

How's your Everest doing?" Alright, maybe I was a bit overprotective over him when he wasn't here.

Big deal. Giggling, I turned my body to face hers, she had one hand on the steering, the other on her knee.

Seeing her drive this way encouraged me to learn as well.

It wouldn't be too bad learning now, would it?

Maybe I'd even take Evie out for a spin.

"He's good. He went to work today."

"Yeah, you said he works at your brother's mechanic store, right?"

"Uh-huh." I hummed, smiling at the thought. I wasn't sure if he wanted a white-collar job anytime soon, he didn't seem to wanna go that far anyway. Eight years in the military, they were giving him his share monthly — from what he told me.

"And...I...I think he's hiding something from me.

" The words came out before I could stop it.

I trusted him, a lot. But what could be so important that he'd have to hide it from me?

Wouldn't I understand where he was coming from?

Abel did tell me to give it time, even when Evie acted as though everything was alright, the thought still lingered at the back of my head.

"Hiding something from you? Why'd you say that?"

I huffed, folding my arms. "Well, his whereabouts for one.

Sometimes when I ask, he just lightly changes the subject.

" Twirling the end of my curls, I contemplated on if to continue explaining.

Was it right to discuss our matters with Kaji?

She seemed to be listening though, pursing her red lips to think.

"I don't know, guys are weird. But...if he does love you like I think, it wouldn't be something so extreme that he'd hide it.

Perhaps he's just...embarrassed?" My eyebrows creased together when she said this.

Embarrassed? Why would Everest be embarrassed about anything?

I wouldn't ever mock him about something so important. Playing with my fingers, I sighed.

"You really think so?"

"I literally started my sentence with 'I don't know' it's just my opinion." I giggled, nodding my head. She was right, that may not be the case. I hoped I'd know soon enough. I didn't want any secrets to come between us...I really did love him.

"If say to ask him but it is better to let him tell you, ya know?"

Nodding, I seconded that. Easier said than done, anyway.

"For now, how about you just drink your worries away? But not too much, we don't want you drunk calling Mr. Evie to yell at him." I blush, looking out the window.

"If I do call him, please stop me." That was death embarrassing. I'm sure he'd scold me the next day. Whenever he scolded me, my tummy would feel twisted, and my shoulders tensed. Though he'd end it with a hug or sweet words. Smiling to myself, I realised that we had reached the venue.

The club came into view as it lit out the entire street, we could see people lined up to enter, two bouncers by the side. I hadn't seen this club before, SK's Club it read in big, bold neon lights which flickered countless times like the pulse of a living man.

"Finally!" Kaji said, parking her car in one of the spots left in the parking space and turning the ignition off.

"Are you ready for your very first clubbing experience?

" Kaji asked, grinning from ear to ear as we came out.

I checked my baguette bag, making I had everything intact, especially Evie's card.

They were all there, so I smiled, looking towards her.

"Who said it's my first club?"

"Raul did."

She replied with a smirk. "Come, let's go."

We took a spot on the line which seemed to be moving rather fast. The bouncers took a good look at us from head to toe, asking for a university ID, we gave him.

He stared at it then at me, I get myself still.

I mean, I did look like a baby, but I was an adult!

I guess the party really was for students of Gaston's Culinary dream, why else would he ask for the ID?

It was a good thing I had it in my wallet at all times.

"Enter." He said.

Kaji pulled me by my hands as we entered the club.

The loudness of the music came out a shook, all I heard were the vibrations before.

This was a whole different level! I squealed in excitement, there were so many colours of lights!

Each colour danced around the room without a care in the world, people mirrored their movements, twisting their body to the music.

Not everyone was on the dance floor though, some were by the bar — which had a large shelf filled to the brim with bottles.

"This is so cool!" I shrieked loudly, hoping Kaji would hear me from how loud the music was.

She turned, winking at me. "Right? I'm impressed.

Come, let's go find the boys." With our hands interlocked, we made our way through the dancing bodies, shuffling towards the bar.

As I walked, my body began to move to the tune of the music blasting from the speakers on the wall.

Huffing, I steadied myself on the bar stool, resting with a hand on it.

My eyes were starting to get accustomed to the lighting in here, and so were my ears to the music.

Kaji said she'd text them, moving her hips to the music as well.

I took this time to look around, seeing so many familiar faces was refreshing, to say the least.

At least it wasn't a sea full of unfamiliar people.

Would I see Willow Rue in this crowd? I sure hoped she'd come.

I smiled, waving at one of my classmates from Batch A, they raised a glass, dancing away. Glancing back at Kaji, she had her back turned at the crowd, ordering a drink. Her hand reached mine. "Do you want anything yet?" Wasn't it too early to drink?

"Uh, something tropical and sweet," I told her. Moving to her side. She ordered the drinks, making sure not to look away. "They said they're coming, by the way. It's fine if you want to move on your own though, as long as you keep texting us." She told me, gesticulating.

Move on my own?

I'd pass on that.

"It's fine, I'll just stick with you guys."

She nodded, taking the drinks from the bartender with a smile. "Thanks," She peeped her card, paying for us.

Guess I'd broken one of Evie's rules.

I pouted. "I can pay for myself, but thanks."

She laughed, "Don't worry, you'll have more drinks to pay for by yourself. Here, you said something tropical right?" It was in a curvy glass with a slice of lemon at the side. I thanked her, clicking our glasses together. Kaji ordered ice on the rocks.

I took a sip of mine.

"This is really good!" I yelled, taking another gulp. It had an incredibly sweet taste, a combination of orange, lemons and another mixture I didn't know of. I felt a slight burn in my throat, an effect of the alcohol. Kaji gulped half of her cup down, "I knew you'd like it."

"Took you boys long enough!" She seethed as two figures made their way to us.

It was Raul and Arnold! Arnold had on a leather jacket, a plain top and a pair of loose jeans.

I smiled at this, looking towards Raul. The latter had on a fitted shirt which outlined his biceps, along with a pair of dark jeans.

"Our bad, we were occupied having drinks at the other side," Arnold said, dapping Kaji and giving me a side hug.

"Well, don't you two look good." He said with a grin.

Taking the glass from Kaji to have a sip.

"Hey! Get your own!" She hissed, taking it back.

Raul gave her a hug as well before walking towards me.

"Hey." He said with an expectant smile. "Hi," I said back.

He stretched out his hands, not wanting to seem awkward, I hugged him, but only for a brief second. Raul chuckled, sliding his hands off my back. "You look gorgeous by the way." He whispered before I pulled away.

"Thanks! You look good too." Taking another sip out of my drink made him turn his attention to it. "Drinking already?" He teased, sitting on the stool while I sat near him. His question earned a giggle from me. "Well, it just loosens the tension in my body."

When I finished the drink, my tastebuds were buzzing in excitement, I could already feel my body swinging to the music on its own.

Raul took the glass from me, setting it down.

"I hope you're not a lightweight like Kaji.

" He asked with a smirk, pulling me towards him by the waist when someone hurriedly passed where I was once standing.

"I hope not," I say, his hands lingering on my hip.

He ordered himself a drink, it was a clear liquid, which I assumed to be vodka. The way he took a whiff of it made me think it was water. I scrunched up my face, knowing how bitter it tasted. Raul laughed, looking at the remaining liquid in his glass. "What?"

"You drink it like it doesn't have any taste."

"It barely does, I got the strawberry vodka.

Here, how about you be the judge of that.

" He handed it remaining to me. I contemplated, finally taking it.

I was a bit curious, okay? "Drink slowly-"

I chugged it all down, thinking I was meant to drink as he did, like a shot.

Gasping for air, I shoved the glass against his chest. Raul cackled, holding me steady.

"I said slowly, love. I only chugged it because I'm used to it.

" He teased, getting a slice of lime from the bar and handing it to me.

"Take this, it'll ease up the burn." There was a burn in my throat all right, why would they drink this?

! I guess...the strawberry taste was a bit sweet on my tongue.

Taking the slice of lime, I sucked on it.

The taste made my tongue shrink but it was easing the burn for sure.

Clicking my tongue against my cheeks, I dropped the lime.

"I'm impressed, you barely even flinched." He mocked, taking ahold of my hand when I tried to hit him. "You said it barely had any taste!"

"It doesn't!" He yelled back, laughing.

With a huff, I turned to look for Kaji and Arnold. They were nowhere to be found! Darn, did they leave so fast?

"Should we go find them?" I asked, turning to Raul who already had his eyes on me. He shook his head. "Leave them, I'm here with you, Arnold with Kaji. Divide and conquer." He ended with a wink. I giggled, "What does that even mean?" Shrugging it off, I began to move to the music again.

"Amelia!"

I turned at the familiar voice, being met with the face of Willow Rue.

Gasping, I moved to hug her, gee, I was already acting more freely than expected.

She giggled, hugging me back. "You look amazing!

" Willow Rue said. She was one to talk! That dress she had on fitted like gloves, the front sagged to reveal just a hit of cleavage.

"You look beautiful as well!" I told her.

She looked towards Raul, waving. He waved back, greeting her with a kiss on the hand.

I laughed at both of them. I guess he really was playful to most girls.

"Would you like to dance?" Willow Rue asked me, already holding my hands and pulling me into the crowd before I could answer. Laughing, I instinctively grabbed Raul's arm so we wouldn't lose each other. She managed to shuffle her way through, getting us a space on the dance floor.

I giggled, watching as she began to move her body to the song. I did the same, feeling my body let go of any tension by the minute. It was fun to unwind. We continued to dance together, raising my hands up, I swung my hips without a care in the world.

Tilting my head to look at Raul, I say that he was also bobbing to the beat, not as much as us though.

"Come on, dance Raul!" I whined, nudging him to dance.

He laughed, holding my shoulders to steady himself.

"You're making it very hard not to touch you.

" He muttered next to me, but at this point, I could barely make out what he was saying with all the chatters around

"What?!" I yelled back, still dancing.

"I said do you want a drink?!" Raul said, oh, was that what he said?

"Okay!" "Get one for me too!" Willow Rue said, leaning against me with a giggle.

He then disappeared into the crowd. Willow Rue took my hands, putting them on her shoulders.

I laughed, as we began to move in sync. "Someone has had something to drink!

" I teased, she giggled back, "Right back at ya! "

I didn't know how long we danced until we were almost breathless. Raul came back with three drinks, he'd gotten two of that vodka drink and one ice on the rocks. "Choose!" He told us. Willow Rue picked the ice on the rocks while I took the vodka. Hopefully, it wouldn't burn as much again.

"Cheers!" Willow Rue said with a beam, laughing, I clinked glasses with her and Raul. Forgetting to sip, I gulped a huge portion down. Gasping once more. "Easy Amelia!" Raul said, moving closer. Grinning, I raised my hands up. "My bad, I forgot."

"Sip. Like this." He showed me, sipping out of his. I mirrored his action, sipping mine as well, it still burned my throat nonetheless, but I felt the strawberry a bit better now.

"Guys, I'm going to go see my other friends now!" Willow Rue said, thanking Raul for the drink before shuffling away. I smiled, she was a whole box of excitement today.

"I didn't know you had so many moves!" Raul said, I chuckled, taking another gulp.

"I didn't know you had so little!" I teased right back at him. He pouted, "I guess I'm a bit shy when it comes to dancing!" Was he? This made me coo. He snorted, rolling his eyes.

When they began blasting afro-beats, I squealed, raising my glass and singing along.

This genre always brought out the loud one in me.

"Okay now!" Raul said, laughing. I continued to sing along, moving my waist to the beat and in no time, Raul was dancing with me.

I smiled, glad that he was no longer tense.

Gulping the remaining of my drink, I felt my voice get more out of control with a few slurs, my back was against Raul's chest, his hand on my hip.

Carefree, I moved anyway, moving my hips suggestively as I continued to hum to the beat.

"Tell me baby are you done talking, yeah!

I don't wanna be a player no more!" I sang along to the Nigerian song, turning towards the Raul.

Just like Willow Rue had done, I placed my hands on his shoulders, moving from side to side.

Raul secured his hands on my waist, moving me closer to him.

"I like it when you're so free." Raul stumbled on his own words, what did he mean?

Was this me being free with him? I had little control over my body, the music playing electrified my entire body.

My tongue felt parched, my throat dry, drink.

..I needed another drink. Dropping my arms from his shoulders, I turned to make my way to the bar but his hands stopped me. Groaning, I turned.

"I want another drink!" I told him, feeling woozy. "You sure about that, love?" He asked and I nodded, wiggling out of his grip. Trying not to trip on other people's feet, I made my way back to the bar.

"Second round?" The man asked with a smile.

"Give me that, uh, strawberry vodka!"

He did, and I paid with the card, dropping it back. "I could pay for you, you know?" I heard Raul say from behind me. Grinning, I shrug. "Let me try and chug just like you did!" I say absentmindedly. He laughed, ordering his own drink and before I knew it, he had his to his lips as well.

"Ready?" He said, I nodded eagerly.

We both took a large gulp out of it. Breathing out so it wouldn't burn so much, I gulped the remaining down and so did Raul. "Slowpoke." He teased, taking my glass. "You want a lime?" I shook my head, it wasn't as bad anymore, I was starting to like it in fact.

"H-how do you know the Silver twins anyways?" I asked, looking up at him. Raul took me by my waist, dropping me on one of the bar stools. I squealed, not liking the feeling of being lifted up in the air.

"They used to come to my dad's restaurant a lot, then one day I spilt food on them."

"How'd you manage that?" I slurred.

"It was an accident! But yeah, we became friends after that. They said they were searching for a school to go so I brought up Gaston's Culinary and they enrolled." He stumbled on his words, oh, so that's how he knew them.

"Have you ever had shots?" He asked out of the blue, I hummed, shaking my head. Raul then ordered six mini glasses of what looked like pee. "This one you take immediately, like you did before." He said, taking a glass and gulping it down before sucking on a lime.

"So, pretty, are you enjoying your time here?

" He asked, taking the second glass. Intrigued, I took a glance from the table, copying his method of drinking it.

Woah! This was way more harsh than the previous one.

I scrunched up my face. Raul laughed, extending a lime my way, "What is this?

!" I asked, hurriedly sucking the lime from his hand.

I could feel a pulse in my head! Was there a heart in there too?

He laughed, "It's tequila,"

"It's a bit stronger." He said. Somehow, even after the burn, I found my hands going to grab another one.

Gulping it down faster, the burn was starting to excite me.

"Want another lime?" Raul asked. When I nodded, he picked one up from the saucer which came with the shots, putting it between my lips.

Was this the effect of the alcohol? I felt my body buzz in excitement. Almost fell off my seat. He steadied me immediately. "Easy," Raul said, holding my waist.

We continued to talk, gulping down the rest of the shots, I ordered the ice on the rocks, curious about the taste and he ordered one too.

Raul said his uncle owned a club so he was used to going out a lot but didn't drink as much. A lot of people were beginning to crowd the bar, making it feel more stuffy than before.

"Can w-we go someplace else? It's stuffy and too loud." I stuttered, climbing off the stool and almost plunged face-first onto the floor. He held me. Raul agreed, and led me the a section of the club, closing the glass door. It wasn't as crowded here.

There were some people but it was dark, so I could hardly make them apart.

"Better?" He asked gently, sitting on the L-shaped leather couch, I sat beside him.

"Yeah, better." The words left my lips with a giggle.

The vibrations from the main club still penetrated where we sat but it was a bit better to hear the person next to you.

A burp left my lips, and I lazily apologized, looking over at the shining on the dance floor.

My body felt heavy, I...I want to go home.

Home...to see Papa? No, I wanted to see E-

"I'm glad you came today." Raul worded with a chuckle, I didn't realise he was holding my hand hands.

Facing him, I curved my legs to the side so I could see him well.

I felt light circles being drawn on my palm.

"Uh-huh." I hummed, my eyes half shut, it felt as if my body was heavier but I was floating at the same time.

"Yeah," He moved closer, his breath fanning against my neck.

I sighed softly, my head was definitely turning, this closeness made me think of him.

..where was he? Wait, who was I even talking about?

Humming, I blinked trying to get myself.

"Y-you're doing it again," I whispered, pressing a hand against his chest.

"Doing what again?" He slurred, rubbing my wrist gently. "F-flirting," I said. He chuckled, kissing my palm. "I can't help it, love."

"A-Amelia."

"Hmm?" I hummed, our foreheads were now touching, when did I get this close?

Was I still in control of my body? I closed my eyes, feeling the heat between us.

"I...I like you, a-a whole lot." He said, pulling me close by the waist. I squinted my eyes, knitting my eyebrows in confusion, he liked me?

I mean, it was obvious that he liked me, if he didn't we wouldn't be friends.

"You smell real nice," I say while sniffing him, speaking mostly to myself.

I felt myself being elevated, I was now sitting on something harder, was I on his legs?

Giggling, I swayed from side to side, not being able to stay still. "You're weird," I mumbled to myself.

"No, you're weird," He responded, making me laugh. Why was he copying me?

"I'm on your lap—I think I'm heavy. N-no, mama said h-heavy is for dead people." I sang, moving closer to him. I heard him chuckle. "Trust me, you're as light as a feather." He whispered.

"Is that a compliment, Mister?" I teased, poking his hard chest. Mister.

..hey, was this the one I was trying to remember?

Was this Evie? He held my hands, bringing it to his lips.

Evie did that a lot.The familiar feeling of my hands being kissed made me tummy flutter with butterflies.

"I don't know about compliments, what I do know...is i-if you don't push me, I might just...kiss the hell out of you." He whispered in my ear. I gasped, giggling at his little threat. "Ouu, I'm so scared," I whispered back, my lips pulling in a smile.

"Amelia..."

I hummed, moving my waist to the beat I heard from the other room. Raul groaned, steadying my waist. "Damn Amelia, you're..." He trailed off, putting his lips on my neck. I moaned at the feeling, placing my head on his chest. His muscles were really...strong and sturdy.

The wet feeling of his tongue and lips sucking on my neck made me sigh.

"I-I like that..." I found myself whimpering under his touch.

He continued to suck on my neck, the spot getting more sensitive as the minute passed.

Humming in bliss, I felt him trail kisses until he reached the side of my lips.

Lowering my head, I sighed, pulling him closer to shut the gap between us. I missed him...I missed him so much. If we weren't so busy with our lives, we'd do this every day.

The kiss was slow, I could hear the sound of our lips melting together, and his large hands cupped my waist, pulling me closer. Moaning into the kiss, I let him take control, feeling his hands all over my body.

I felt my body light up, it burned and the more he roamed, the more I wanted. We broke off the kiss, panting. "You're incredible." The voice said in a whisper, making me laugh. "L-let's get out of here." The voice said again.

I tilted my head, "W-where to?"

"We...we can take a cab to my place."
