His Tempting Angel (The Wishing Tree)

I dont know why I bothered putting my wish on the Christmas tree in Wildwood Square. Nobody is going to help me. I dont know anybody in town and ive got no friends or family left. Im on my own.

Until the grumpiest, hottest man Ive ever seen cards me in a bar and offers me a job. All I have to do is remember that all he offered me is a job. I need to keep my heart to myself.

Shes the most beautiful woman Ive ever seen in my life and as soon as I saw her putting her wish on that tree, I knew that I had to find her, help her. Ive never seen a more desperate woman in my life.

But I have to remember that I cant have her. Shes too sweet, too innocent, too pure for an old, scarred grump like me. As a retired firefighter, Ive seen my share of dangerous situations. But nothing like her. Shes a flame that calls to me, beckons me. If I get too close though, Im gonna get burned. Because theres no way that a beautiful, young woman could ever want to tie herself to a damaged old man like me.

But can a little Christmas magic and a holiday wish find us the one thing that both of us are missingsomeone to love?
