Chapter 46

LEO
“ W hat are you doing?” Briar groans, her arms flopping down on either side of her.
“Having breakfast,” I tell her as if it’s the simplest answer in the world.
“What?” she asks, confused. “Why are you—oh.”
A wicked grin stretches across my face as I pull her shorts over her ass and discard them on the ground. Grabbing one of her legs, I bring my lips to her warm skin, leaving a trail of kisses up to her core.
Waking up more, Briar arches her back into my touch, a small moan escaping her.
Not wanting to make her wait this morning, I immediately get to work, desperate for my meal.
The second my lips touch her, Briar’s hand is knotted in my hair, keeping me in position. When my tongue darts out for one long, languid lick up her slit, I feel a tug at my scalp, the sharp pain only fueling me further.
Everything about Briar makes me want her. The way her skin somehow always smells like almond soap. The way her small moans make something deep within me wake up, or even the way she lifts her hips for me. There’s not a single thing that I don’t like about this woman. That I don’t love.
Blood pulses through my dick, and when my need becomes too much to bare, I kiss up her stomach, taking as much time as I can while not torturing myself. When I’m hovering above her, I’m greeted by a smile.
“I hope you don’t mind the morning breath,” she says, her voice rough.
“If you think I give a damn about morning breath, you have another thing coming,” I assure her as I reach for the condoms in my bedside table.
It takes less than thirty seconds to slip it on, and about one second to slip into her soaked pussy, her grip instantly adjusting to me. She gasps, like she always does, and I capture it with my lips.
“I have to say,” I tell her as I kiss down her neck, “You’re beautiful in every way, at all times, Briar, but fuck you’re stunning with my dick buried inside you.”
Briar lets out a laugh, slapping my chest. “Shut up, Warner.”
I nip her ear. “It’s true.”
“Well I think you’re the most handsome you’ve ever been when you’re dick deep in me, so we have something in common.”
I chuckle, “I guess we do.”
“Fuck you feel so good,” she moans, looping her arms around my neck.
“You feel like a fucking dream,” I respond, my pace quickening.
“Can we make pancakes after?” she asks through a moan.
“I don’t want to ask why you’re thinking of pancakes right now,” I tell her, feeling the pressure building inside of me.
“Leo, I’m going to come.” Briar’s back arches, and I quicken my pace, my own orgasm right there .
“Because you’re thinking about pancakes?” I croak out, two seconds from finishing myself.
“Fuck!” Briar comes apart beneath me, her body shaking. Her hands clench the sheets on either side of her, her head thrown back.
I take it as permission, and in less than a second I’m coming too, my body nearly collapsing on hers.
We breath silently next to each other before she looks at me with her big brown eyes, a small smile on her lips. “I’m going to go brush my teeth and go to the bathroom. How about you go and make us some real breakfast?” she asks with a grin.
“Pancakes?”
“Of course.”
“Things are going good. I’ve been seeing less articles about how you may not make it back before next season, and more about you and Briar being engaged. I’ll admit, there’s a couple about a secret baby too. But I’ve been burying those.”
I wipe my hand down my face, groaning. “Please keep at it. I don’t want her to read about pregnancy rumors.”
Zhuri, my publicist, pauses. “Is there anything going on that I should know about?”
I’m too quick with an answer. “Nope,” I assure her, shaking my head despite her not being able to see it. “Nothing at all.”
She doesn’t sound convinced when she says, “okay.”
“Great. Thanks, Zhuri.”
“Welcome Warner. Keep up the good work. I think that girl has been good for you.”
She has .
She has a right to be suspicious, because there has been something going on. Something rather big, actually.
Pulling up the files that my friend sent me, I dial Tony’s number.
“Yeah?” he answers on the third ring.
“It looks like you’ve been busy with some offshore accounts I’m sure someone wants to know about all of it.”
He’s silent for a couple beats on the other end of the line. “I have nothing to hide,” he tells me sternly.
“That’s funny, because that’s not what the forensic accountant I know has to say about the matter.”
His demeanor changes in an instant realizing I have proof. “You say one word and everything you guys have been working for goes in the toilet, Warner. Mark my words, I will ruin her life.”
“By what? Tattling on her to the school board? Is that all you have?” I scoff.
“Elara’s address hasn’t changed, which is surprising. A little neglectful of you not to even warn her.” His voice is bitter and biting.
“If that’s all you got, you have to hit a lot harder.”
“Don’t threaten me with a good time, Leo. Enjoy a couple days of peace. It would be a shame if everything comes crashing down on you at once.”
Tony hangs up, leaving me with a giant pit of dread at the bottom of my stomach. What did I just do?
I give myself a second to recover before calling my sister.
