Chapter 10
I drive towards work with Chase, feeling slightly apprehensive about how today’s going to go.
Yesterday was nice, just relaxing and watching TV all day, then attempting to let Chase suck my cock as much as he wanted, which after the seventh time, I tapped out for the rest of the day, much to his disappointment, and he still tried three more times after I said no more. The boy is insatiable.
Pulling into my parking spot, I then walk up to the office with Chase right beside me with a big grin on his face.
There is no way anyone isn’t going to be able to know what the boy and I were doing all weekend.
Shaking my head, probably no point in having a meeting with Mr. Khan and Mr. Rodriguez.
We should probably just go straight to HR to disclose and fill out all the paperwork.
We step inside the elevator, and I press four instead of our normal one.
“Daddy,” Chase says, pushing the button for our floor, “you picked the wrong one.”
“We have to go to HR first,” I explain, “to fill out some paperwork about our relationship and remember at work, no calling me daddy.”
He nods, “okay, daddy,” he says, and it takes him a second to realize what he just said. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay,” I smile, getting off the elevator, then leading us to Mrs. Palmer’s office.
He’s not going to be able to separate things, and I knew that before work, and I know it even more now.
I just have to accept my days of privacy and professionalism at work are over.
I expected myself to feel more disappointed or reluctant to accept the idea, but when I look over at Chase, who’s smiling at me like I’m his favourite person in the world.
It’s kinda hard to worry about something so trivial.
Knocking on Mrs. Palmer’s open door, she waves me in with a smile, then frowns slightly when she sees Chase.
“Why don’t we close the door behind you, boys,” she says.
We take the two open seats in front of her messy desk while she opens the file cabinet on her left, pulling out some paperwork.
“I’m surprised you lasted so long, Mr. Moore, without filing an official complaint.
” Chase frowns and draws a pattern on his thigh as she continues in a teasing tone. “The office has a bit of a bet going-”
“We’re actually here to disclose a relationship,” I interrupt before she can continue.
Her mouth drops open as she flicks her eyes between the two of us before running a hand through her frizzy brown hair. She slumps back in her chair, then taps her fake red nails on the desk. “Really?” She asks.
“Yes,” I answer before Chase can.
“Really,” she says again, and I’m starting to get annoyed.
“Is there paperwork we need to fill out?” I ask, trying to get this moving.
“Are you sure you want to?” She asks, then speaks carefully, “it’s more for serious relationships.”
“We’re in a serious, committed relationship,” Chase snaps with a glare.
Rubbing my forehead, “Mrs. Palmer, can you please send the paperwork to my email, and I’ll complete it for both of us, then have it in to you by the end of the day.”
She nods, “of course.”
I stand after saying goodbye, then head to my office with Chase right behind me.
Once we’re in my office, I have Chase shut the door behind him, then relax into my chair.
I don’t know why I feel so annoyed about Mrs. Palmer’s reaction, but I do.
He flops down in my chair meant for clients, but has become his workspace.
I watch him look down at his lap, drawing patterns on his thigh.
“Are you mad at me?” He asks without looking up.
Sighing, “no, darling, I’m not. I just wasn’t expecting that kind of reaction.”
“But I told you,” he says, “about the bet and no one believing you would like me.”
“I know, but I guess I didn’t expect people to be so blatant about it,” I explain. “Let’s get to work. Then how about we go out for dinner tonight? That place you were telling me about the other day, the steakhouse?”
His smile is blinding in an instant, “Ruth’s?” He bounces in his chair, “you’re going to love it, daddy.”
“Did you finish getting Jameson’s case information inputted and filed on Friday?” I ask, opening my laptop to continue with my notes from Friday afternoon.
“Yes, I did, and I inputted and filed the Kent case and the Richardson case,” he answers. “Can I have a reward for doing a good job?” He asks, then makes a kissy face as he stands and walks over to me.
“Should you get a reward for a task you completed on Friday?” I ask, “or one you did today?”
“Both,” he answers quickly.
Shaking my head with a smile, I counter, “that would mean you could say you deserve a reward for something you did on Saturday even though it’s Monday, then get two rewards for only completing one task.”
“It sounds fair,” he replies.
“Go sit down and go through your Monday checklist, and after you’ve checked one of your tasks off, then I’ll give you a reward.” I point to his chair before he stomps his feet back around my desk, then plops down in his chair.
He works through his checklist, and every time he completes a task, I give him a kiss he tries to deepen, then I have to push him away.
I find myself watching him more while I work, eager to have him complete a task.
By noon he’s worked through half his checklist, which is more than he’s ever done before, and I’ve made good headway on my notes for court tomorrow.
I stop us for lunch, causing him to jump up from his chair and stand at the door before I’ve even saved my work.
On our way to the elevator, we run into David, who’s also on his way out for lunch.
He greets, “how are you doing, Mr. Moore? I was sorry to miss you on Friday. My team’s on an awful losing streak, and we could’ve really used you.
” David’s not a bad guy, just a bit boring and looks the part of an average office worker.
Before I can say anything, Chase answers for me and makes sure to stand between David and me in the elevator. “We were busy Friday night, and every Friday night after this, so you don’t have to keep inviting him to trivia night.” The boy’s getting a spanking when we get home.
David laughs, then it quickly fizzles out when we don’t join, “oh, you’re…you guys hang out, like friends?”
“No, like boyfriends,” Chase answers with his nose up in the air, “exclusively.”
David nods slowly, “cool. I didn’t know…I honestly didn’t know you were gay, Mr. Moore.” He says, then rushes out, “not that there’s anything wrong with being gay or you have to look a certain way to be gay.”
He goes to continue rambling, but I put my hand up. “It’s okay. I understand what you meant.”
He lets out a breath, “cool, and it’s cool you guys are together. Frank will be really happy since he’s about to come into a good amount of money.” He shakes his head with a smile, “good for you, Chase.” He waves goodbye as we step off the elevator.
The second we’re out of the office, Chase’s hand is grasping mine as he also leans into me while we walk to my regular lunch spot. “I told you,” I tease, “David didn’t even know I was gay.”
He sticks his nose up, “I stand by my words. You can be gay, and in love with a man you think is straight.”
“Chase,” I shake my head, “didn’t you hear him in the elevator rambling about it’s okay to be gay. David’s straight.”
“Straight until you show interest in him, then he’ll be bending over for you,” he says.
I shake my head, not knowing how to respond to that, especially since the boy is determined to believe David secretly likes me.
I lead him into the coffee shop on the corner of fifth, then give him a moment to look over the menu, since I get the same thing every day.
Once we’ve ordered and are sitting by the window with our food and lemonade, I watch Chase glare at the counter, then face me.
“I don’t want to come here again,” he says before taking a big bite of his sandwich.
“Chase,” I say sternly, “you’re on a bit of a roll here with David and now Felix at the counter.”
“You know his name,” he frowns, then turns to glare at the counter again. Poor Felix looks clearly uncomfortable and is trying to hide behind the coffee machine he’s fake cleaning. “He looks too young for you with his little freckles and glasses.”
“Chase, enough,” I snap, causing him to turn to face me.
“This will be the third time I have to remind you. You will not control who I talk to, and you need to stop glaring at people and treating them poorly because you think they like me. This isn’t the point, but I’ve known Felix since he was 15 and started working here, and he’ll always be that 15 year old boy in my mind, despite him now being 20.
I have absolutely no interest in him, and as my partner, you need to trust me. ”
“I do trust you,” he argues, “I just don’t trust other people around you. You’re mine.”
“Other people don’t matter,” I reprimand, “I matter. It’s important that you know and trust me to never cheat on you. I’m only interested in you, Chase. I want no one else.”
He smiles, “I only want you too.”
“Chase, seriously though, I need you to understand that it’s not okay with me for you to be treating people poorly, especially people that are just trying to do their jobs.
They get enough people shitting on them for things they can’t control, so they don’t need you glaring down at them because you’re jealous.
” I watch him draw a pattern on his thigh while holding my stare.
After a few seconds, he nods, then mumbles, “I’m sorry.
I…” He shrugs, “I’m not trying to be mean.
It’s just hard because no one really believes you could like me, but Frank and my dad.
Even my friends were teasing me about it, never getting you to like me.
So, sometimes when we’re out, it feels like other people will think the same thing, and I just really love you, and I don’t want you to leave me for someone better. ”
