I Tore My Husband and Daughter to Pieces
chapter 1
"Mom, let's go on a cruise vacation!" Alice excitedly shook my arm, her eyes full of anticipation. "I heard the little cakes there are super delicious!"
"Yeah, Serena," Brian smiled in agreement. "It's been a while since we had a family vacation. Since Alice wants to go, why not take this holiday to relax?"
But the searing pain of being bitten by a shark was still etched in my bones. I looked at the two smiling happily in front of me and secretly clenched my fists.
In my previous life, they said the same to me.
Although I was puzzled why Alice, who had always been afraid of water, wanted to go on a cruise vacation, I thought with Brian and me around, nothing should go wrong, so I agreed.
They were unusually enthusiastic, not only packing their own luggage but also preparing mine.
Alice said, "Mom, you always packed our luggage before. This time, let me help you! Look, I even brought your favorite dresses!"
Brian added, "Oh, Serena, don't forget to wear the Eternal Heart. It's the symbol of our love."
I foolishly indulged in the false happiness, letting them do as they pleased, never expecting that these things would lead to my death.
Seeing me silent for a long time, Alice's expression changed first.
"Mom, do you not want to go with me? You don't love me anymore!" she pouted, tears welling up in her eyes. "You're nothing like Ms. Green. I don't want you to be my mom anymore."
Brian hurriedly picked her up and gently scolded, "Alice, how can you say that to Mom?"
I couldn't stop trembling until my nails dug deep into my flesh, drawing blood.
I thought, "Yeah, how could I not love my daughter?"
But when I saw Chloe wearing the same clothes as me and the unique Eternal Heart, I realized that the two people I trusted most had personally pushed me into hell.
"What's going on here?" Chloe pushed the door open and, seeing Alice about to cry, quickly picked her up. "Who bullied you?"
Brian frowned at me, his tone displeased. "Serena, is just one vacation really that hard for you?"
Chloe sighed theatrically and said, "Maybe Mrs. Howard isn't too willing to accompany Alice. After all, what could be more important than a child?"
I held back my trembling and coldly stared at Chloe.
Chloe is a college student I sponsored. I felt sorry for her poor family, often giving her a share of anything good, but I never expected to raise a traitor.
Noticing my gaze, Brian immediately stepped in front of Chloe. "Serena, I've been too busy lately, so I asked Chloe to help look after Alice. Don't misunderstand.
"But really, what could be more important than a child? Alright, I'll go pack your clothes now and make sure you look stunning."
"No, I'm not going," I interrupted him. "Alice is big enough now; you can take her on vacation by yourself."
"How could that work?" Brian said anxiously. "Alice really wants you to go with her."
"Then let Chloe go with you," I said with a faint smile, glancing at them. "Alice likes Chloe so much; I'm sure she'd be happy about it."
