Chapter 24

CHAPTER 24

NOELLE

I thought about how much my life had changed and what was yet to come. For some reason, it all hit me that morning. Christmas was tomorrow and I had no idea what happened next.

Was he really staying?

My hand slid up and down my stomach, contemplating what his grandmother said and the possibility of already being pregnant.

I chuckled to myself.

People in relationships talked about these things during the dating phase. Getting to know each other and what the other wanted for their future. We skipped that whole stage, jumping headfirst into having sex, but we already knew everything about each other.

We weren’t strangers by any means.

A look.

A word.

A smile .

His scent.

His kiss.

His hands all over my body.

I couldn’t keep up with the emotional highs and lows. There was no hiding from it, seeing it for what it was.

We were happy, laughing, in love...

I never imagined I’d be living a life that appeared to be someone else’s.

The rumbling of a snowmobile pulled me away from my thoughts as I sat at the window, looking at the tree with Max in my arms. Nicholas ran out to grab something he said he left at the office. I sat up and gazed behind me as I heard the bike get closer to the house. Stepping into my boots next, I stood and walked toward the street.

“What is your dad up to?” I asked Max, realizing very quickly I used that word again.

In front of my eyes, the past and present collided with such force that I couldn’t help but smile. Once Nicholas noticed I was standing there, he stopped the snowmobile and took off his helmet. With an intense stare, he left me speechless. His gaze spoke volumes without having to say a word as he sat there on the mobile.

Breaking our trancelike state, I questioned, “You went to pick up a snowmobile from your parents?”

“Nah,” he expressed. “I bought this one for you. Merry Christmas Eve.”

For the second time that day, my mouth dropped open.

He beamed, all proud of himself.

“Now you’re spoiling me.”

“Get used to it.” He grinned. “I’m back, baby. Now let’s go for a ride.”

I narrowed my eyes at him. “I’m not going to pretend that seeing you on that snowmobile doesn’t affect me. I practically lived on the back of yours. ”

There was a permanent grin on his face. “Why do you think I bought it for you?”

I laughed, hurrying back inside. I got Max nice and comfy in his crate. He loved it in there and I made sure the doggie cam was working.

“Be back soon, Maximillian!”

I hauled ass outside and grabbed the extra helmet from Nicholas’s hands, then put it on while I jumped on the seat.

I ordered, “Take me for a ride, Mr. Saint Clair.”

He didn’t have to be told twice. For the next hour, we drove all over the woods. We were back to being those kids again. The ones who were wild and free. I loved every second of that afternoon with him.

It was perfect.

He was perfect.

Veering off on a secluded road, he drove us back to where I didn’t think he’d go. Right when he parked the snowmobile, he turned me to straddle his waist.

Instantaneously, I remembered all the times we’d talk just like this.

“The more things change,” I stated, “the more they stay the same.”

I looked around the space. We were in our woods, the one where he made the gingerbread house for me for my year anniversary of living there with him.

Except that wasn’t the only thing; it was completely decked out with all the decorations again.

“How did you do this?”

“I had help.”

My eyebrows rose.

“My personal assistant made some calls and found someone for me. She’s been working on it since my plane landed.”

“Nicholas…”

“I knew I’d get you back here, and I had to make sure it’d be right. I’m sorry I didn’t do it myself this time, but I will next year.” He gripped the back of my neck. “And the next year and the following.” Before he softly pecked my lips. “And the next…”

“That’s a lot to commit to.”

“Mm-hmm…”

Clutching onto the side of my face with his other hand, he lightly bit my bottom lip. His hands fell to my ass, gripping it nice and tight.

The memory of him never compared to real life.

I moaned into his mouth, and he groaned into mine.

He fisted my hair by the nook of my neck while his other hand glided down the side of my body.

“Please,” I pleaded against his mouth, fully aware he’d love to hear me beg for it.

He roughly jerked my hair back to look into my lust-filled glare. When his fingers slid my panties over, I swallowed hard. With nothing but mischief in his green, tantalizing stare, he slid his hand into the snow overalls I was wearing.

I hissed upon contact. His hands were freezing.

“I’ll warm you right up.”

I leaned in to kiss him again, but he pulled my hair back harder, urging me to stay right where I was, spread wide open for him. It was only then I realized he wanted to watch me fall apart from his skilled, precise fingers.

I swear I could have cum from the powerful.

Greedy.

Loving the way he was looking at me.

He rubbed back and forth over my clit, causing my body to shudder from his firm, demanding touch.

When he slid two fingers inside me, I breathed out, “Ahhhh.”

His lips parted like he was feeling everything I was, and all he was doing was watching me fall over the edge for him .

He worked me over, finding my G-spot.

Creating this ache.

This passion.

This mind-blowing explosion all over my pussy.

I tried to keep my fluttering eyes open while he roughly fingered me.

“That feel good, Elle?”

“Yes,” I panted, completely at his mercy.

“Here?” he taunted, pushing harder against my sweet spot.

“Yes ... please don’t stop...”

My back arched over the gas tank, allowing him to go faster and harder. He was right. I felt warm all over with the uncontrollable yearning to take away the throbbing ache he was building inside me.

“Oh God... go faster ... harder...”

“Tell me, have you ever had someone claim your ass?”

I sucked in a rapid breath. “No…”

He smiled against my mouth.

“Can you…?”

“Can I just what? What can I do for my girl?”

I moaned, “Make me cum, please...”

“One last question.”

I whimpered.

“Have you ever had a man make love to you?”

I shook my head. “No.”

“Good girl. Now cum for me.”

My body erupted in a fit of spasms as my eyes rolled to the back of my head, and my breathing hitched, screaming out his name. He pulled me close, wrapping my arms around his neck to kiss me, and drowned out the loud sounds escaping my mouth.

Biting my bottom lip again, he ordered, “Eyes on me.”

I opened my hooded gaze, trying to catch my bearings.

He took a long, hard look at me and spoke with conviction, “ I’m the man who claims your ass. The one who makes love to you. The man that you need. The one you want… but mostly…”

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel the same when he swept the hair away from my eyes.

Until he professed, “I’m the man who thought he was falling in love with you, but that’s not it at all.”

My eyebrows pinched together.

“No, you see, I’m the man who’s always been in love with you, Noelle.”

And just like that…

My mind was thrown back to the last time I saw him.
